Liberal Hypocrites!

Liberals being hypocrites was the theme of question period today. Funny how CTV carried question period live yesterday, but today....nothing. Too bad the expected public outrage didn't materialize. Exactly the reverse happened, even a CTV poll went way wrong.

The opposition parties are demanding Finance Minister Jim Flaherty be fired. Do you agree?
Yes 35%
No 65%

Today, both PM Harper and Minister Flaherty wiped the floor with the opposition.

What bothers me most is this little ticking bomb that the media is running with.

CPP bosses to receive millions in bonuses

The heads of the Canada Pension Plan are slated to take home millions in bonus payouts this year, even as the fund struggles and the economy slips deeper into recession.

According to the fund's annual report just released by the CPP Investment Board, David Denison, the president and CEO of the CPP, along with his top four executives, will take home a total $8.5 million in pay and bonuses for the 2009 fiscal year.

Most Canadians do not understand that CPP is NOT managed by the government. Just like the Bank of Canada is totally independent from the government, so is CPP. This is a VERY good thing. EI is managed by the government and that is how the Liberals were able to take $54 Billion from the fund for their pet projects. Imagine if the 100 Billion in the CPP was in government hands, many pensioners would end up with nothing. Liberals drained a healthy EI fund, they would do the same thing with CPP.

EI is paid by employers and employees, it should be separated just like CPP, so governments can not get their hands on it. Now the Liberals are pushing for the government to interfere in the workings of the CPP, this is a very scary direction that both the Liberals and the MSM are taking. The MSM is using the envy factor (big bonuses) to ramp up the issue and they are making sure that the Conservatives get blamed for the bonuses granted by an independent board.

Yet if the Conservatives try to get freedom for our western farmers from the Canadian Wheat Board, that's close to being a dictatorship, and jailing farmers is what deserves to happen to those knuckle dragging red necked westerners anyways. It doesn't matter that eastern farmers can sell their wheat to anyone they want, and that ticks me off, why aren't the eastern farmers standing with their western brothers? Greed? Fear of competition?

If eastern farmers think the Canadian Wheat Board is such a great idea, they should be forced to join it just like our western farmers, that would show true solidarity. I thought Ontario farmers were like our western farmers, but sadly they are willing to see western farmers crushed by the CWB yoke.

No wonder we have a 50 billion dollar decifit. Apparently eliminating the deficit is just a liberal pet project. Since Harper rejects all things liberal I guess we can expect that deficit to continue.

Gayle, I'm starting to think that a Liberal could burn down your house and you'd gush about how it brought your neighborhood together.

Dear Gayle,
This Conservative government STOPPED the Liberals practice of raiding the EI fund and using it to fake surplus'
with in the first year they took power.

''OTTAWA — The government's giant Employment Insurance surplus is to be administered by a newly created arms-length Crown corporation in response to criticism of the ballooning cash reserves.

Under the new rules, the Canada Employment Insurance Financing Board must ensure premiums collected do not exceed payouts. The present system collects far more each year than it spends, and the surpluses are treated as part of the government's general revenue.
The government keeps the accumulated $54-billion surplus on the books, even though it has been spent. (liberals already spent the money!!! that's how they handed PMSH a $13B surplus in 2005,
documented in a court ruling)

"With this reform, Canadian workers and communities can be confident that EI will be managed on a truly break-even basis," Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said yesterday.

Here is a special treat for the green maniacs out there - such irony.

IG - you are absolutely correct. You hit the nail on the head. But do bear in mind that Gayle is an NDP supporter but she votes Liberal because her NDP candidate does not stand a chance and she hates Harper for some reason that seems personal, from my perspective.

You really hit the nail on the head with your comment. And, BTW - Gayle is a champion channel changer. Mention some FACT that makes the Libs look bad and she'll ignore that but come out with some personal attack on you or some speaking point against Harper. There is a pattern and she never changes her tune.

She will call somebody down for a "personal attack" and then level one at somebody else. She will condescend and put down any Conservative. For some reason and her new friend T1 seem to haunt Conservative blogs.

Frankly, I don't go where I'm not welcomed but she sure does.

Puhleeese...the Liberals put the real EI surplus againsgt real debt.

"With this reform, Canadian workers and communities can be confident that EI will be managed on a truly break-even basis," Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said yesterday.

hahahaha Dim Jim talking about managing EI. This was the guy that said we would have $100 MILLION SURPLUS!!! Wooot...

So I guess we can expect in a couple of weeks DJ to announce EI has run out of money.

Gayle.....you're whining again.

If what you say is true then the Libs are truly disgusting. They stole money from hardworking Canadian families and put it toward paying down the debt? No wonder we are going in to deficit to finance EI claims. The Liberals emptied the fund and left nothing for hardworking Canadian families.

Thank you for enlightening us, SQ. Do you have a link that we can use? I had no idea that the Libs were even that dishonest and unethical.

So, my EI premiums are just another tax, then? Thanks again for pointing out yet another Liberal theft from hardworking Canadian families.

I salute you for being so honest about your party - it takes a lot of guts to expose one's party as a band of thieves.

Have a great weekend, SQ.

I thought Hunter does not like commenters engaging in personal attacks.

As we can see, some have stuck with the issues. Others believe it is easier to attack the person and somehow refute their points simply by the personal sneers.

If you were paying attention yesterday, The Supreme Court of Canada said it was not unethical or illegal.
"Canada's highest court ruled, however, that the federal government was within its rights to divert EI contributions to pay down the deficit from 1996-2001."

So maybe, just maybe, ya wanna take back the claim that they "stole" the money. (I think it's called libel.)

And the current deficit has nothing to do with current EI
claims. Sheesh...

What a maroon...

On another thread a few days ago, the resident uber-whiner, Gayle offered up some 'the difference between you and me' twaddle regarding my views on Canadian politics. She basically said that being Conservative made me naive. OK Gayle, if that makes you feel better about yourself, go ahead and call me naive.

Now that we've got Gayle's fragile 'self esteem' out of the way, here's a few facts supporting Gayle's epiphany of a vive la difference existing between Conservatives and liberals:

* Seventy-one percent of conservatives say you have an obligation to care for a seriously injured spouse or parent versus less than half (46 percent) of liberals.

* Conservatives have a better work ethic and are much less likely to call in sick than their liberal counterparts.

* liberals are 2½ times more likely to be resentful of others’ success and 50 percent more likely to be jealous of other people’s good luck.

* liberals are 2 times more likely to say it is okay to cheat the government out of welfare money you don’t deserve. (How apropos, what with the liberals keeping EI so much in the news lately!)

* Conservatives are more likely than liberals to hug their children and “significantly more likely” to display positive nurturing emotions. (C'mon lefties, say it...I dare you...Stephen Harper shook his son's hand. Oh the humanity!)

* liberals are less trusting of family members and much less likely to stay in touch with their parents.

* Do you get satisfaction from putting someone else’s happiness ahead of your own? Fifty-five percent of conservatives said yes versus only 20 percent of liberals.

* Those who are “very liberal” are 3 times more likely than conservatives to throw things when they get angry.

* liberals are more self-centered than conservatives.

* Conservatives are more generous and charitable than liberals.

* liberals are more envious and less hardworking than conservatives.

* Conservatives value truth more than liberals, and are less prone to cheating and lying.

* Liberals are more angry than conservatives.

* Conservatives are actually more knowledgeable than liberals.

* liberals are more dissatisfied and unhappy than conservatives.

* Conservatives do more volunteer work than liberals.

* Conservatives donate more blood than liberals.

and last but not least:

* Incarcerated criminals are more likely to have a liberal party logo tatooed on the top of their skull than a Conservative logo.

But I'm puzzled. You forgot the "fact" that propane refrigerators have compressors in them. Why would that be?

Hahahahahahahahaha!

You left out:

* Conservatives are more likely to believe that the earth is 6000 years old.

* Conservatives have the ability to say one thing while meaning another. see Jim Flaherty surplus vs deficit

* Conservative are more religious -- but lie about everything.

* Conservatives only stay in touch with their parent to make sure the inheritance is coming. This is not a problem with Liberals.

* Conservatives donate more blood because they have the ability to suck blood from everything around them.

Actually East - I have to say that Gayle lives in Edm Strathcona and therefore her NDP did win - Linda Duncan beat out Rahim Jaffer because of strategic voting.

I guess you don't have to stick to your principles when you are a left wing supporter - vote whomever just so the other guy doesn't win.
