Delusional Feminists Think They Still Matter!

I'm impressed that the National Post would print this garbage article by Judy Rebick, it gives us REAL women a chance to set delusional feminists straight. Let's start having some fun!

"The women who marched in the first International Women’s Day marches held 100 years ago in Europe — demanding the right to vote and hold office, better pay, training and an end to discrimination"
Absolutely correct and if you happen to notice, all of their demands have been achieved. The feminists have won! Take a bow and quit whining. Too bad feminists will never admit success. Too bad feminists have become so dependent on the public teat that they don't actually know what a REAL job might be.

"When I attended McGill University in the late 1960s, only 30% of the undergraduates were women, and almost no professors or graduate students were female. Abortion and information about birth control were illegal. Women were paid less than men for doing exactly the same job, and made about 60% of men’s wages. And there was only one woman in Parliament. "
Yikes, talk about dated. History is interesting, but it has nothing to do with the actual world we live in today. Feminism had nothing to do with increasing the number of women in universities, it was women WANTING to go to university that accomplished that goal. Those women were not all feminists.

"Between 1970 and 1990 in Canada, we won inclusion of legal equality for women in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, banned employment discrimination against all women (including pregnant women), won pay and employment equity laws, legal abortion, rights for Indian women, a stronger rape law and a divorce law that more fairly established property division."

Wow, you admit that you WON pay and employment equity laws in one sentence and then state this:

"But economic inequality continues, with women earning 80% of men’s wages despite being, on average, better educated."
Earth to feminists, YOU HAVE WON! You can't admit it though, because then all of you in the feminist industry would have no jobs, and no reason for your existence anymore. So you soldier on.

"But inequality within the home is an even greater problem. In Canada, men perform an average of 2.5 hours of unpaid daily work at home, while women do an average of 4.3 hours. So while women now account for 50% of the paid work force, we are still doing almost twice as much work in the home. "
How ridiculous is that? Throw some stats out and hope they mean something. No mention of males working more overtime, no mention of women not wanting to work full time, and no mention of the fact that some females actually enjoy cooking. I thought Trudeau wanted us to stay out of people's bedrooms, so why should feminists be allowed to intrude into our marriages? If I like cooking and my husband does the laundry and we are happy with that arrangement, why should feminists care that it takes me longer to cook than laundry does? It's a weak argument and it is none of the feminists business how we run our household.

"The last Liberal government promised a national child-care program. It would have been much less than we needed, but Stephen Harper’s Conservatives ditched it anyway. Since Harper has been in power, Canada’s record on women’s equality has tumbled. In 2009, we ranked a disgraceful 73rd in the UN Gender Disparity Index."
Oh, cry me a river, still wanting to brainwash our kids with taxpayers money is disgusting and most parents don't want it, that's why the Conservatives got re-elected with a stronger mandate. No more socialist money sucking programs, please. Interesting, from the comments:

Since Harper has been in power, Canada’s record on women’s equality has tumbled. In 2009, we ranked a disgraceful 73rd in the UN Gender Disparity Index.

And in 2010 Canada jumped to 8th under Harper in the UN Gender Disparity Index.

http://hdr.undp.org/en/media/HDR_2010_EN_Table4_reprint.pdf

P.S. I do about 85% of the unpaid work around the house and I'm a man, amazing what freedom and choice can provide.

In typical lefty style, Judy nitpicks only those statistics that support her opinion. Like the econuts still say that CO2 is a pollutant and the greenpeace guys still show pictures of white baby seals being clubbed to death when that was made illegal over 10 years ago. We don't need any lefty nannies raising our kids.

"Most of the country’s poor are women and children. They are thus the ones who bear the brunt of cuts to social spending. They also suffer most when the public sector is trimmed, since that is where most well-paid jobs for women are located."
Judy, your desire to encourage divorce, allow abortions and make marriage a bad thing has lead to men not wanting to take responsibility for their children, and I can't say I blame them. You can only be hit over the head with the sexist hammer so often until you cry divorce. Feminists want equal pay for equal work, but could really care less about raising children in a loving environment, they want all kids in state sponsored nanny camps, and they would prefer if men were not involved in their lives.
"My hope is that a new women’s movement will emerge as part of these people’s movements and find its own ways to achieve the next wave of equality that will benefit everyone."
With this statement, Judy shows us that she realizes that the feminist movement is dead. I hope that any new movement will include men and will concentrate on the atrocities facing women around the world. If the feminists weren't a dead movement they might be able to do something good for all those women in Afghanistan who can't even go to school, but the feminists are silent on that issue. Young women today look at feminists and wonder why they still exist, what purpose they serve and why they should have anything to do with them. Not all women are abortion loving, male hating people who want to see marriage and families disappear into some sort of socialist soup.

Many females still want to stay home, raise their own kids and consider families important. I am one of those females. Funny how I can have a career, raise my kids and have a loving relationship with my husband without the need of any interference from feminists. No wonder they can't stand Conservative females, we see through their whining and will have nothing to do with their martyr complex.

So, do you make as much as a man doing your job?

Why would you be impressed by the National Post printing an article like this? They set the bar pretty low when they let convicted criminals write articles!

Why is this hag given any time, she resigned in disgrace from Boob Rae's cabinet for doing an IDhalla before IDhalla.

Ah judy, Judy, Judy, the poster girl for the sisterhood of the victim pants society. That old feminist dino wrote:

"But inequality within the home is an even greater problem. In Canada, men perform an average of 2.5 hours of unpaid daily work at home, while women do an average of 4.3 hours. So while women now account for 50% of the paid work force, we are still doing almost twice as much work in the home. "

Come on now, that particular stat is arrived by women and men filling out a question on the long form censes how much work they do around the house. It is s very subjective number and highly inaccurate to boot. Since when was going your laundry, cooking, wipe the nose of your child work? I always thought it was the cost of being alive and not be a pig.

Are the language police in Quebec aware how SQ is refusing to post predominately in French?

Is he breaking the law? Shouldn't he be following the wishes of his state government and respond in french?

The delusional left are not merely made up of the "feminists" but their male counterparts are only too glad to accept their blame.

I don't share the "white man's" guilt being shoved down my throat by the ideological left.

People of Ont. had the good sense not to elect Rebick to the legislature in 1987. She was never in Rae's NDP Cabinet

Canadian Nonsense, if stupid were against the law, you would be doin' life.

Simeon: I believe you have someone else in mind, as Ontario voters had the good sense to reject Rebick when she ran for the NDP. Thank God she never had the opportunity to implement her ideas in cabinet.

SQ I have been making the same as men at my job for over 25 years, that's why the feminists are dead, they won that battle years ago but refuse to acknowledge it.

They are irrelevant, and stale. They need to step up and defend Muslim women, but they are too scared to do so, or they agree with Muslim men and sharia law, which one is it?

"I have been making the same as men at my job for over 25 years, "

I would be real curious as to what industry has been paying equal wages for the past 25 years. (Not counting the service industry)

SQ try a trade, that would be a plumber, electrician, car mechanic, you know those predominately male jobs that pay so frickin fabu but most women are brainwashed into thinking they can make the same buckos as men on the "early childhood educators" career path or some other boring job that lets them keep their stilettos, pencil skirts, hair finely coiffed, finger nails stay unchipped and painted.
