Deeply Disturbing On Many Levels

I came home from work and watched the deeply disturbing clip Fatna posted on SDA's and numerous other sites. It made me sick to my very soul. Evil people, with evil purposes, are running amok in our society today.

Fanatics must be stopped. They are harming millions of people. The Muslims I know, are gentle people who just want the same respect for their religion that anyone else here in Canada gets. I fear that all who practice their religion, will be tarred with the same brush as the extremists. That should not happen, and only Muslims can make sure it doesn't.

It is time for Muslims to stand up and condemn the radicals, to report the fanatics, to take their religion back from the dark warriors and give it back to Muslims. If there are to be riots, let it be riots against the radicals. I fear that's too much to hope for.

I have not read the Quran, so I can not condemn it. Muslims MUST explain it. They must explain how it is the religion of peace, not just tell us it is.

I fear most for the gentle women who cover up their hair, just like devout Jews do, just like our Nuns used to, they more than Muslim men will be targets of ridicule. Funny how the men can blend with others, but their women are made to stick out.

Religion through the centuries, has been used as the excuse for wars, witch hunts, and the destruction of societies, that should never happen again.

You want to see really disturbing footage instead of a propaganda film created by some right wing nutjob?

Check out some footage from the US bombings of Hiroshimo and Nagasaki. Over 80, 000 Japanese civilians alone were killed by the Americans in Hiroshima.

Why not look at some of the shock and awe footage from the American's air assault on Baghdad?

We have bigger problems than poorly armed fanatical Muslims. Fortunately, George Bush will be vacating the White House in short order. However, the death and destruction left in his wake will scar a generation.

Uh anony what happend on 9/11? How many people were killed and for what purpose did they die? Please remember that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings were an attempt to put and end to Japanese aggression. The defeated rebuilt Japan is a friend. The pre 1945 Japan was a deadly enemy. How many Japanese and Americans died during the taking of Iwo Jima? Realisticly how many do you think would have died in a conventional invasion on a state theocracy like Imperial Japan? Best estimates at the time were 1,000,000 Americans would die trying to take that island nation without counting the Japanese losses. Harry Truman had a hard descison to make and he chose the two bombs.

Lets play a silly game here. What would have Al Gore done if 9/11 happened on his watch? Would he have rallied NATO to fight in Afghanistan? Would he have urged the UN to invade Iraq? I suspect he would have been forced to do just that. The POTUS is not as powerful as we all like to think. He is not the elected dictator that our PM is. The POTUS is answerable to both houses of congress and the people of the US. In short Al Gore would have invaded Iraq or he would have been removed from power.

Uh joe... please explain how Iraqi civilians are responsible for 9/11?

Furthermore, how many Iraqi civilians have died since the invasion?

How many died in the attacks on the WTC?

Do the math. Something doesn't add up.

Anony:

Classic misdirection. Why do progressives reflexively blame Geroge Bush for having to clean up Clinton's mess? As to Iraqi casualties, most of the Iraqi civilians killed have died at the hands of muslum terrorists who would be right at home in Wilder's film of Islam's greatest hits.

In one way, though, you are right. Most of these murderers are inept and easily neutralized by our Police and Military - if the Politicians will let them do their job.

The far greater threat is from the silver tongued apologists who "request" a few minor "accommodations" in our country such as Sharia for all, then all women forced to cover themselves in tents and eventually, death to the infidels. Wilders is showing us in their own words where their koran leads them - to our conversion, death or enslavement.

Here's to hoping Wilder's film begins to challenge the West's suicidal delusions because we're still in cultural surrender mode and they aren't retreating.

anony I hope you realize that the death toll in Iraq went down after the invasion from where it was when Sadam was in power. If you took all the Iraqi civilians killed during the invasion and occupation by Americans it is lower than the number of Iraqis Sadam killed every year he was in power.

During the Iran/Iraq war I happened to work beside an Iraqi refugee. He told me how he and his family escaped through the reeds along the river with Iraqi bullets whistling and snapping as they hit the reeds over their heads. Ignorant westerner that I was I thought that Sadam was the good guy and Iran was the evil one. My co-worker went on to explain that Iraq was going through very dark times with whole families disappearing into torture/extermination factories.

BTW I abhore death especially death imposed on one by another. However I am not so naive to realize that in order to save lives you sometimes have take lives. I certainly would never want to be in a position to call the shots but given the choice of inadvertantly killing 10,000 to prevent the killing of 100,000 I would order the army to march. Just as I support Harry Truman's decision to drop the A bombs.

Life isn't fair and sometimes we are forced to choose the lesser of two evils. For reasons known only to you, you seem to equate every thing involving GWB as "greatest evil". I honestly believe that you are sincerely misguided. Sincere no doubt but wrong nevertheless. I would guess that you have what I call a soft degree education and are quite adept at parrotting what you heard in class without ever learning to do critical thought.

Wow Anon 3:30 and Joe, excellent arguments! I notice anon 8:39 and anon 1:21 have no response.

When confronted with facts lefties have no answer, they are ruled by emotion. Both of you understood the message, and it is a very serious message, the lefties have blinders on.
