OTTAWA -- Repeated appeals to the Prime Minister's Office since the Chuck Cadman affair surfaced last week have failed to yield direct answers to the following queries:
1. Did anyone from the Conservative party, or connected to the Tories, offer Cadman a million-dollar life-insurance policy?
2. If Tom Flanagan and Doug Finley offered Cadman a repayable loan, what was the amount and what were the terms of repayment?
3. What did Stephen Harper mean when he said in a 2005 interview that "an offer'' that included "financial considerations'' was made to Cadman?
4. Why didn't Harper say last week that he told Dona Cadman more than two years ago that he didn't know about the alleged life-insurance offer?
5. Why did the Prime Minister's Office and the Conservatives first deny an offer had been made, only to later say a repayable loan was offered?
6. What motivation would Dona Cadman, a Tory candidate in her husband's former riding, have to fabricate a story about the life-insurance offer?
This was reported by the Canadian Press, for the Canadian press, and CTV ran it as an actual article. My question to you is, who's repeated appeals? The Canadian Press? CTV? The Liberal party? Dion? WHO? It's a mystery, but it's also masquerading as a "story".
Nope, not even any "unidentified sources" have been quoted. So, what was the MSM's motivation in running this "story"? HA.

This is a completely irresponsible and absolutely disgraceful posting by CTV.
It doesn't qualify as "news", since it reveals nothing about who allegedly asked the questions, and who allegedly refused to answer them.
As such, it is nothing but unsubstantiated innuendo, written by a nameless source.
Even a Hollywood scandal-rag would do a more credible job with a drive-by smear.
I totally agree aek, drive-by smear is a perfect description of this piece of "journalistic" garbage.
WHO, is Canadian Press anyways? Why are the authors of this hiding behind a label, not their own names? This isn't even an opionion piece.
Since the Libs sit on their hands they have left the position of Official Opposition void and MSM gladly fill it...without the vote!!

Questions for CTV
1. Are you going to do a lead story, both on TV and the inernet, where the assistant says there was only one meeting?
2. Are you going to recant your assertion that there were TWO meetings now that the author has decided to make some changes?
3. Are you ever going to recognize how biased you are?
You don't have to answer that last one - I know the answer.

Well, one of the groups continuously asking these questions is the Globe and Mail, who published their own (slightly different) list of six questions that Harper and the Tories have refused to answer (if you combine the two lists and eliminate the overlap, it's 9 questions in total).
To me, the main reason the story doesn't mention who specifically has asked these questions is that so many people have asked them by now (in the House, outside, and directly to members of the Tory caucus in scrums) that there wouldn't be room to print all the names of all the questioners. It seems to me pretty much everyone is (or should be) asking these questions, and it's certainly newsworthy to me that this long since the story broke the Tories still haven't come up with any answers.
I'm sure they're just too busy trying to figure out how to sue CTV, the G&M, Don Martin, the National Post, the Canadian Press and a few dozen other media outlets and reporters for "asking questions".
Sorry, forgot the Toronto Star. They'd like to know the answers too.
Paul Wells and Macleans too. Though, all Wells did was link to the questions, so I'm not sure he needs to worry about getting sued.

Wow, the media is really trying to make a big deal out of this. Yet they keep having to revise what they print. Maybe listening to a guy who is trying to sell a book isn't the best source, but hey make it up if you don't know the details, the Liberals have.
