Dysfunctional Parliament

First the Speaker of the House gets up and admonishes all MP's, then Conservative MP Betty Hinton does the same, following her, none other than Liberal MP Holland complaining that HE has been smeared. Guess he didn't listen to Betty Hinton's heartfelt appeal to all MP's. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Dion's lack of leadership means that the Liberal MP's are running wild, like Holland, they are making accusations that are getting them sued, not just by the Prime Minister of Canada, but by regular citizens, and no-one is stopping it. Thibault is getting sued by Mulroney, Holland by Frogger, the Liberal Party of Canada by Stephen Harper, will someone please get some control over the Liberal MP's? If it was Conservative MP's misbehaving, the media would be all over it, endlessly, like they are about a maybe, supposedly, money offer to Cadman. The Liberals are so steeped in dishonesty, they think all other parties are just like them, they wouldn't know a good clean government, like the Conservative government, if it hit them in the face, they just can't see it because they think everyone is just like them. Even lawsuits are not a concern to them, they are so arrogant, they know they are never wrong, and anyone who disagrees with their point of view, is beneath them.

You can clearly see the passion Betty Hinton has in her speech, then in contrast you see the phoney Holland, who cares only about himself. Such a contrast between the Conservatives and the Liberals. One is asking for some decorum to return to the House, the other totally ignores her and the Speaker, and rants about HIS problems.

Dion, get some control over your MP's, they are making Parliament dysfunctional, even the NDP have realized that Liberals are going too far at committees, but Liberals are stuck on stupid.

Great post Hunter. Mark Holland is a disgrace. This is the man who stole Tory documents.

This parliament truly has become dysfunctional. The committees have become nothing but partisan witch hunts, question period has become nothing but smear campaigns. The Libs and their voting practices of late.

I'm surprised that the CPC has been able to get as much done as they have with the circus atmosphere,it's been somewhat miraculous I think.

Very upsetting -- Holland is always whining. I can't understand why this guy keeps getting elected to do nothing but complain, whine, and sneer. Really, a shame.

Good point Dr. Roy, Holland steals documents, then whines about being smeared.

Yes frmgrl, this Parliament is running wild, but the Liberals won't bring on an election because they are scared.

Richard R, Holland is a perfect example of "progressive" Liberals, do what we say, or we will smear you. That's why he keeps on ending up in my video snapshots, he's a perfect example of "stuck on stupid".

And I don't listen and I don't watch and I am now disenfranchised because of this dysfunction. My tax dollars go to fund the CBC and I don’t watch, not even hockey. How sad it is that the public “good” is in such disgrace.

A few points.
As one of Ms. Hinton's constituents, I can say that she is possibly the poorest MP ever to represent our riding, if not ever to sit in the House.
If there is a reason why she is being heckled, it's because –when she shows up –she is an enthusiastic participant in the Conservatives' daily Question Period routine. This involves raucous heckling, personal insults thrown at MPs of other parties, and generally disruptive and disrespectful behaviour. I would invite those who don't believe me to visit Ottawa and accompany me to Question Period in person; I guarantee this will give them a new perspective on which party's conduct is the problem.
Suing someone from another party doesn't mean they're wrong. It means you're afraid of what they have to say. And Brian Mulroney is hardly a "regular citizen".
And "good clean government"? Don't make me laugh. Just read Conservative whip Jay Hill's "dirty tricks manual" (http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=a1c7c666-90bc-419d-a71a-808c0bd10934) and then tell me they care about making Parliament work.

Anon 7:51 so I gather that you think the heckling while she was speaking is okay, because she's a Conservative who supports her party.

If you are from her riding in BC, what are you doing in Ottawa? From your comment, you seem to be at Question Period in Ottawa enough to invite us to attend, so, Anon 7:51, which Liberal MP are you? Or, are you with the press? Is that you CBC??? HA.

and to think people are going to elect at least two, possibly four Liberals tomorrow is a laugh. Especially the worst Premier in Ontario history. Maybe Banjo Bob will replace Nancy Drew as the next Liberal class clown

If you think this isn't a problem that afflicts the CPC as well, then you must not watch when John Baird speaks. Or frankly, Stephen Harper.
