Backfire!

The CBC has been showing only disgruntled Lebanese arriving into Canada, hoping to make the Conservatives look bad. Sorry, it's not working. It's going to backfire!

Liberals can not understand that Conservatives do not put up with whinny people who got to Canada because of our tax dollars. I am happy to help those people who truely appreciate our help, and I suspect that makes up about 99% of the people who we have rescued. I don't think they all have to bow down and say "Thanks Canada", but, when I hear they get off the taxpayer funded plane and go directly to a protest, sorry, but that ticks me off big time!!!!

Do we really know who we are letting into our country?

If the Lebanese were smart, they would get a rally together, not protesting Israel, but telling us "real" Canadians that they are happy to be home in Canada. Period.

We are smart enough to realize that Lebanon is not the problem, only Hezballah.

I am worried about how many Hezballah terrorists have now arrived in Canada. I am worried for the future of my kids. I am totally in support of "MY" government and I refuse to listen to "sometimes" Canadians who want to change "MY" country into something I do not recognize.

I was born here, this is my country, and I am not going to give in to terrorists, be they real or "sometimes" Canadians trying to change "MY" country into something, I, a "real" Canadian do not want. These "sometimes" Canadians are just like terrorists, they protest, hold rallies, and tell me that I should think the same way they do.

If you are not happy here, GO BACK to wherever you came from, and protest there, if you dare!! Or, become a true Canadian. Work hard, get ahead, and provide a safe environment for your children.

I Thought It Was Jewish Princess, Not Lebanese?

Well, well, these comments make me think spoiled brat. Not one thank you Canada, in the whole bunch!

Evacuees arrive home

Meanwhile, planes carrying the first wave of evacuees arrived in Ottawa and Montreal on Friday, and some had harsh words for the government.

"It was inhuman what they did," said Tania Elia, who arrived in Montreal. "People were on the boat, one over each other. People were vomiting."

Another evacuee said she was "ashamed to be Canadian" and regretted the apparently arduous journey.

"If I knew that it was going to be like this, I would have stayed in Lebanon under the bombs," said Roula Karbash. "It would be easier."

Poor Tania, people were vomiting!!! It's called sea sickness, do you think the government planted vomiters on the ship just to bug you??

If, Roula is so "ashamed to be Canadian" that she wants to be back "under the bombs", I will start passing the hat to raise enough money to send her right back there. I of course can't afford to go to PEI to visit relatives, let alone go overseas. Not, one thank you Canada from those two. Talk about two Lebanese Princesses!!! Shame on you.

Now if you see the person in the picture called "one relieved evacuee", Dan Matheson showed this guy, he was great!!! He was thanking Canada, he was so happy to have been rescued even Samantha Huston said she had a crush on the guy! He really was what I as a Canadian taxpayer wanted to see, someone happy to be going home!!! Not like the prima donnas above!

Too bad the media give the 1% of disgruntled people 99% of the air time.

Kudos to Dan Matheson, he has been very positive in his reporting. Kudos to the people of Turkey who have done a great job helping our Canadians. I love the youngsters greeting our Canadians with flowers. Thank you Turkey!!

Not one word of thanks to Turkey, Cyprus or Canada for our little princesses. Again, all I can say is shame on you.

Media Making Lebanese Look Like Whiners

Well the media should be happy that they are portraying the Lebanese as ungrateful. I was feeling sorry for all the people stranded in Lebanon, until the media showed me the first boat arriving. One person was upset because they had no AIR CONDITIONING, well sorry, the government is trying to get everyone out safely, guess they forgot to ask whether the rescue boat had air conditioning.

The media should look at the coverage because they are making ordinary Canadians think that the Lebanese are ungrateful and are only using Canada to get out of a war torn area.

The Lebanese being rescued should understand that "regular" Canadians are not going to put up with "sometime" Canadians whinning, they should just be happy that Canada got them out, at taxpayer cost.

Edmonton Lebanese Protest Ticks Me OFF!!!

Okay, for years now, everytime I see ethnic groups from other countries protesting on Parliament Hill, or anywhere else, about how things are soooo bad in their countries, I have always yelled at the TV telling them to go back home then. You are either Canadian, or a "sometime" Canadian. If you are some other countries citizen first, Canadian second, go home. Why should my tax dollar pay to bring you back to Canada, when you have never really been Canadian?

So, if the Lebanese are not happy with how the rescue mission is going, go there and save your own people. I am sick and tired of the media coverage that only shows people who are mad at the government. I feel that most Lebanese are great Canadians, but fear is making them scared, I understand that, but don't protest in my country and expect me to support you, especially not when you slam my government and not the real cause of the problem. The Lebanese government has no control over the southern portion of their own country, blame them, not the Canadian government. It is not the Canadian government that is firing missiles at Israel.

STOP protesting against the government and START acting like real Canadians by supporting and helping all efforts that can help ALL people stranded in Lebanon.

Shame on the people who have time to protest, but no time to help. Disgusting.

By the way, WTG Prime Minister Stephen Harper for going to pick up over 100 Canadians!!! A truly great idea, and if the people rescued are not appreciative, send them back!!!

Clifford Olsen and Manson

Thank goodness Clifford Olsen is still behind bars.

We should put him in with Manson, and let them try to figure out who is the real crazy one!! Maybe the two sadists will torture each other for fun!

Okay, okay, shame on me, but it is fun to think about. Would probably relieve their boredom too.

Small Things Bring Great Pleasure

Here in Edmonton, we have a Front Yards in Bloom contest. I didn't get a sign last year, but today, I got a sign!!!!!!! I started most of my flowers way back in January, so that they would be blooming now, guess it paid off! Small things bring great pleasure!

I can't reconcile my joy in getting a simple sign, with my despair about the Mid East. I just want it all to stop. I think the Israelis are right in protecting themselves, but I am sad that people in Lebanon are suffering along with the Israelis.

My prayers are with all sides, but I feel God weeping. This situation with terrorists is getting out of control. Something is going to snap, and here in safe Canada, I fear for my kids. What will the world look like in 20 years? Are all women going to be wearing black burkas and be restricted from driving or voting? Are my kids going to be punished because they are Christians?

We can not ignore the terrorists. If they keep blowing themselves up, maybe we have a fighting chance! Kind of like all the Liberals aborting their babies. Attrition!!! Oh, and by the way, Alexa, is way past her best buy date!!! The NDP are so out of touch with real Canadians I can't believe anyone votes for them.

Well, This Makes Me Proud To Be Canadian

What a wonderful speech by our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper!

Finally, we can hold our heads up, and be proud to be Canadian again.

Saturday, July 15, 2006

Get Out If You Can

Only idiots would go to Lebanon now, and if you are already there, try to get out! I guess we will have to rely on the Americans to get our Canadians out.

This report ticks me off. What a bunch of bull****. Do not blame the Canadian government for your families problems. If you want to be a "sometimes" Canadian, don't blame us when you put yourself in harms way. If your family had stayed in Canada, you would not have to worry. Sorry that might be harse, but it is reality. Go to an area that is not stable, don't cry to your "sometimes" government for help.

That said, I really hope that all Canadians get out of Lebanon safely.

Harper Sides Firmly With Israel

This is very refreshing after years of Liberal waffling!

Finally, I can be proud to be Canadian again. WTG Prime Minister Stephen Harper!!

If the US was bombing us daily, would we not be justified in responding? If they kidnapped our soldiers, would we not be justified in going full out to get them back?? If our land or people were being threatened, would we not respond?

Justice appears to be different in the mideast. I fully support Israel's response so far, and I am glad that our Conservative government has now come out to fully support their position as well. The only thing keeping the mideast from war is Israel, they know that Israel will not blink. So, return their soldiers, if this doesn't happen soon, cut all support by all charitable organizations for a few days, see if that helps to make them understand that they survive by the good wishes of the hated west.

Evolution, Kyoto, And Naturally Occuring Substances

Okay, had a wonderful holiday, the horseback riding left me with a sore butt, the golfing was great, but it's good to be home!

Now, my point, scientists have still not proved that we evolved. Why are there no halfape-halfhuman's running around? Did the iceage freeze them? Why didn't apes and humans freeze then? Oh, who cares whether we evolved or not, we are here, that's good enough for me.

Now, scientists are trying to convince us that global warning is a threat. I think pollution is a threat, and something that can be measured. Global warming, if you listen to the MSM is a done deal, it's happening, and we better control it or the earth will change dramatically. Hummmm, like the iceage came and went without our help? Did that change the earth dramatically? Well, we aren't having to fight dinosaurs at least, well maybe only liberal dinosaurs. What is the great cause of global warming, CO2.

Now, let's think about naturally occuring substances. Butter is natural, margarine is not. For years, margarine was good, butter was bad. Now, margarine has all those bad trans-fats, butter doesn't. Sugar is natural, artificial sugar substitutes are not. What's with this new milk-to-go that lasts for months? Can that really be good for you? It's sure not natural. So, naturally occuring or artifically manipulated, which would you choose.

To tie it all up, scientists still can't prove evolution, why should we believe them when it comes to global warming? Naturally occuring, last time I checked, CO2 was a naturally occuring substance, pollution is not. So, why are we fighting CO2 and not pollution?

For Life Or For Death

Pro this, anti that, let me make it clear, because I get confused at the terms used by both sides. It boils down to this, you are for the life of babies, or you are for the death of babies.

A Liberal has put a bill before Parliament, hoping to make abortions after 20 weeks illegal, various groups are saying this would restrict a "women's right to choose". This is such a tired phrase that I can't believe the baby killers are still using it.

As a female, my right to choose, is not to have sex, or to take various pills that will prevent pregnancy, once I become pregnant, my rights should not superceed those of my baby. We both have the right to life. A baby is not something to be dismembered and discarded just because it is not wanted. Women need to stop using abortions as birth control.

It is totally disgusting that Canada has no abortion law at all. This means that as long as the baby still has a foot in the womb, a doctor can suck it's brains out and call it justified.

I cry for those babies, who have no rights under Canadian law.

Blue vs Red

Okay, I know this is silly, but....I was switching between CBC and CTV News the other day during the questioning of PM Harper and the Japanese PM, both stations were covering it live, so they were identical, but one bugged me for some reason. I thought maybe one had a crisper image, but, no, that didn't seem to be the problem, both stations were sending out clear images. It held true the next day during the live coverage of President Bush and the Japanese PM as well, I preferred one station over the other for some reason.

As I continued to flip between the two, I finally saw it, and now I can't stop seeing it!!!

It's all in the colour!!!

One station is predominently red, the other blue!!! See, I told you it was silly, but I kept wanting to watch CTV over CBC, and couldn't figure it out, until I realized I liked the blue, even their ticker tape is blue, while CBC has red all over it's broadcast.

I'm not saying that CTV is more Conservative because they use blue, as a matter of fact, alot of the time I find them more left than CBC, but, our new government sites are blue, why isn't CBC?? Don't we pay $1 Billion a year for a government run and taxpayer paid for TV station?? Is it too much to ask for some blue on CBC??

Okay, I bet you are going to see it now too!!! All that red and all that blue.

Alberta Week in Washington

Well, if the federal government won't market us, we will do it for them!! Klein is in Washington and he is getting our message out to the US. A safe secure source of energy is right next door! This benefits all of Canada, not just Alberta.

Rains in Washington might dampen our reception, but Klein will get attention, he has already met with VP Cheney.

Should Be An Interesting Summer

Okay, it's my first day of holiday, and I've been busy watering flowers and weeding the garden, between weeds, I was thinking about what the 5 new priorities are going to be, so, what would yours be for this government? Maybe we can determine what they should be and help the new government.

One for sure will be the environment. I felt sorry for Rona because the opposition were working soooooooo hard to get an idea of what they are planning. She hung in though, despite scuzzy NDP tactics, she's going to have fun this fall I predict. She is a terrific role model for our young ladies.

I want lower taxes, less government, and way fewer social programs. I want the money from useless social programs diverted to disabled/elderly people, directly, not through some agency that only gives money to it's friends. Finally, I want to see less of my taxes going to support the CBC, not more, like the Liberal senators would like to see happen. Transfer hockey to TSN and I have absolutely no reason to watch CBC, that $1 Billion would go a long way towards wheelchairs for the disabled.

So, what else? Indian affairs? Fiscal balance?? Lower taxes? Cutting bogus social programs? What would make your life as a Canadian taxpayer better? What policy do you want to see implemented?

Bill to Raise Age of Consent for Sex from 14 to 16 Introduced, Gay Activists Opposed

Well, why would gays oppose protecting our children?? Is it because they can't have any themselves so they don't understand how serious this is? Why does planned parenthood disagree with this? Does it mean fewer abortions for them? Does it mean that they have to get parental consent before they can make a 14 year old get an abortion? Is that why they are scared?

As a parent of a 13 year old, I think this is a great bill and I will be watching who votes for and who votes against this bill. Liberal degradation of our society must end. Swingers clubs are legal now thanks to our supreme court justices, that also means that a 14 year old can legally be in that club. That's just sick!!!!

I hope that people who care about their children will email their MP's and get them to support this bill.

Our babies need to be protected.

RONA Is Not Blonde

Okay, when I heard that Rona Ambrose was made the environment Minister, I actually laughed out loud, not because she is lacking in her ability to do the job, but because I knew that she was one tough cookie that would get the job done.

It seems that the NDP are scared of just that, they wanted her "booted", but the Liberals backed down (duh, no leader).

What I think is that the opposition has no idea of what the Conservatives are going to do on the environment and have been trying very hard to find out, but no-one is talking.

I will bet anyone that the environment will be one of the next 5 priorities of the Government, that's why the opposition has been trying so hard to find out what the Conservatives are up to, but mark my words, this fall, the environment will be front and center, and the opposition will not like it, because, the Conservatives are going to have a plan that will blow the opposition out of the water. Kyoto will be a thing of the past I hope, China/Russia should not get my hard earned tax dollars for doing nothing.

We all care about the environment, but we do not need to be raped by other countries of our hard earned tax dollars. Any party still supporting the failed Kyoto Accord, needs to look again, be careful, be very careful, voters are not idiots. Don't you dare vote to send my hard earned dollars overseas. Clean up our environment, yes, but keep our dollars here to do it. What part of that doesn't the opposition understand??

The Liberals made a big show of supporting the Kyoto Agreement, but had no plan. Same with Kelowna, didn't even sign the Kelowna accord, but Liberals still don't get the fact that, THEY ARE THE OPPOSITION!!!

So, Rona is not blonde (sorry all real blondes out there, I mean no harm), not like Belinda, the oh so glassy eyed MP(what the heck was her Ministry? Did she even do anything? Oh, I guess we didn't expect that of a faux blonde).

As a side note, our Conservative ladies are way classier than any other party.

Supreme Court Judges To Make More Than The Prime Minister

Well, opposition is not happy that the Conservatives only want to increase judges salaries by 7.25%, instead of the recommended 10.8%.

Okay, can any of you out there remember the last time you got a 7.25% increase in your salaries, let alone a 10.8% increase?? The judges salaries are already indexed to the rate of inflation, so this raise would be on top of that automatic increase.

Under the Conservative plan, which must secure enough votes to pass in the minority Parliament, the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Canada, Beverley McLachlin, would receive an immediate salary increase to $298,500, instead of the $308,400 the commission recommended.

The other eight judges on the court would earn $276,400, instead of $285,600.

Chief justices and associate chief justices on the Federal Court, Tax Court of Canada, and superior courts in each province would earn $254,600, rather than $263,000 and all other judges would see salary gains to $232,300, instead of the commission's recommendation of $240,000.

So, the chief justice and other justices will earn more than the Prime Minister!!!

It appears that judges is more worthy than the Prime Minister, who has to run this country?? This is unacceptable, especially when those same judges are giving us such wonderful things as swingers clubs, and reducing sentences of baby rapists, because that's not violent?

Maybe those poor, underpaid judges will just go back into private practice and we can get some that are willing to uphold the law, instead of making it!!!!

I also think the MP's that are protesting are doing so because they want a 10.8% increase in their own salaries. Hang on to your pockets folks, we are about to be robbed once again!!!!!

PM Just An Average Guy Moneywise

Well, as if we didn't already know it, the PM is no millionaire, like many former PM's. How Martin got away with keeping his business interests, setting them up as tax free havens, paying non-Canadians slave wages and polluting our waters, is really beyond me, except that Liberal friendly media never really mentioned any of those "little" items.

Seeing Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the Oilers game, in the cheap seats, surrounded by regular fans, not in some private box, did my heart good. Yup, so far he really is an average guy, with an average family, but he is doing an exceptional job as PM. Maybe he can do that because he has had to budget his families expenditures, say no to his kids sometimes because they couldn't afford something, and make do with what they already have, instead of getting the newer, better model. Sounds like my family!

Sounds like it is slim pickings for the Liberal party to harp on, and Ruby Dhalla is sounding more shrill, and idiotic everytime she questions Minister Clements 25% share in a drug company. Get a brain Ruby, look at your own ex-PM before you open your mouth. And, maybe your own investments should be looked at:

She now co-owns a chain of chiropractic clinics in Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and Aurora with her brother, Neil Dhalla.[2] Dhalla has also worked as an actress, and played a leading role in "Kyon? Kis Liye?" (translated as "Why? And For Whom?"), a Bollywood-inspired Hindi-language film shot in Ontario.[3] She finished second in the Miss India Canada pageant in 1993.[4]

Oh, but wait, your not a Minister, heck, your not even in power, your in opposition!

The Liberals still don't and never will understand the average working person, cause, well, they are not the average working person, most of them have been born with little silver spoons in their mouths. They have never had to say to one of their kids that Santa's Elves couldn't build enough X-Boxes in time for them to get one. They just don't get it, because they have never heard the word "NO".

Canada's playoff heaven for Japanese couple

Well, good for this couple, wish someone would have given them better tickets for the game, but, heck, I'm right here in Edmonton and we can't afford to go.

Hope they show the Prime Minister at the game tonight, singing "Oh Canada" with as much gusto as Joey Moss shows! I think it's awesome that the Prime Minister will be there, hope he has Ben with him!

GO OILERS GO!!!!! WE BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!

Protect Incombents Or Not??

This article is interesting because it goes to the heart of democracy.

One argument is that MPs in a minority government are busy enough without having to fend off rivals in their ridings who have the luxury of time to organize a nomination challenge.

"I've always believed personally that duly elected MPs should be protected from challenges," said Nova Scotia MP Gerald Keddy. "The reason behind that is because it allows us to do our job in Ottawa.

"We already went through a nomination process, chosen by our electorate to represent them, and it's very disconcerting and distracting to have to do your job here...and to have to worry about what's going on in the riding."

Saskatchewan colleague Gerry Ritz, who said he isn't concerned about his own seat, said he has some sympathy for the protection argument. There have been many cases of contenders enrolling thousands of "instant" party members - sometimes from ethnic communities - to scoop a nomination.

Well, I was at an annual board meeting of a charity, where the president got totally hi-jacked by a swarm of new members who elected a new president.

There was nothing democratic about that election. It was a total misuse of the democratic process.

If you want to challenge for a position, you should have to relay that intention at least 3 months in advance. Then it becomes a fair fight.

Hundreds of before unregistered people just showing up at the meeting is showing a total lack of respect for democracy.

Quebec Goes After Oil Companies - NEP2?

The dreaded carbon TAX is raising it's ugly head in Quebec!

Quebec plans to tax oil and gas companies to finance its plan to implement the Kyoto protocol but also says it needs money from Ottawa to fight climate change, Premier Jean Charest said Thursday.

"The Kyoto protocol isn't perfect but currently it's the best thing on the table," Charest told a news conference. The tax is expected to raise $200 million a year that Quebec will spend on its 2006-2012 action plan to curb emissions.

A spokesman for the petroleum industry said the tax will end up passed on to consumers. Environmental groups welcomed Quebec's move.

Wake up Quebec, get your bikes out, because gas prices are about to rise.

Simple economics, if an oil company can sell gas anywhere in the world without paying a carbon tax, why would they pay for it in Quebec? They will pass it on to the consumer, or not sell it there. Those are the options.

So, Quebec, enjoy Kyoto. Biking in the winter will really clear the greenhouse gases and make you all healthier!

Scary Statistics

Interesting poll, disturbing results.

What amazes me is that Quebec has the highest statistics against pedophiles (91%), but it was one of their judges that just reduced the sentence of a pedophile, because repeatedly raping his 2 year old daughter and posting the pictures on the internet was not violent!

We as a society are buying into the liberal mind set that we must pity and help the criminals because they were somehow disadvantaged growing up. BULL-Turdies.

You do the crime, you do the time. And judges better start getting with the system, or, they will start feeling the heat from ordinary people, who are getting tired of the light sentences they keep dishing out. Most people feel that judges are somehow better and more knowledgeable than average people, but us average people understand that the judge was wrong in this case. Too often we forget about the VICTIMS of crime, and judges are clearly out of touch with us "average" people.

What ever happened to VICTIMS RIGHTS? I say, we need tougher sentences and a place on Hans Island to house them. We wouldn't even need guards! They could learn survival skills and because Canadians are living on Hans Island, we retain our rights to the Island.

NBC Has Better Coverage Of Hockey

It's totally shameful when we get better coverage on NBC than on CBC when it comes to hockey. Cole and Neale are total wipeouts and drove me to watch NBC to get a better prospective on the game. CBC needs to wake up, we can watch other channels now!!!!!!!!! I can think of better ways to spend $1 Billion per year than on the CBC.

Why Is Quebec Still A Have Not Province??

Yes, Quebec is different, but they suck up BILLIONS of dollars that other provinces could use. They brag about their $7 a day daycare, but who is paying for it? WE the taxpayers of Canada, not Quebec. They have all these fancy programs that they don't have to pay for, because the Feds will fund them. I heard the Bloq yap about employment insurance benefits for older workers who get layed off, okay, I can support helping them, but why do we have to support every socialist program Quebec wants, just because they are Quebec.

Get working Quebec, stop sucking on the teat of Canada and become a productive province in Canada for once in your life. Grow some balls and stop depending on the rest of Canada to support your welfare habit. We are sick and tired of hearing your politicians bashing Alberta, because we actually work for a living. And no, you will not get your muckers on our resources that we have worked so hard to develop. Go develop your own resources and leave ours alone. We send the Feds 11B, and you suck up 11B, well, tick us off enough, and you will be importing oil from???? Iraq??

Being French is great, but being leeches on our society has to stop. Grow up, get a job and contribute to our country.

Okay, This Is Going Too Far!

All right, that's it, egg salad sandwiches are now under attack!

Please, give those little old ladies a break! So, they boiled some eggs at home! This inspector is obviously the Nazi of egg salad sandwiches. Pouring bleach on those sandwiches is an example of a petty individual, who was given way too much power.

What's next, no more apple pies for sale at the farmer's markets???

On The Lighter Side, GO OILERS GO!!

Okay, I know it's trivial compared to the Canadian born terrorists, who wanted to blow Canadians away, but, Go Oilers Go!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe we should take a page from hockey, the zamboni clears the ice, makes it nice and new, this should be what happens with terrorists. Put them in jail for life, clear the rink of rats, make anyone else think twice.

My prediction, Oilers in 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ontario jury finds Linklater guilty of murder

Justice Harry LaForme cited a federal government directive to reduce the number of native Canadians in jail.

"It is my duty to endeavour to remedy this crisis of drastic over-representation of aboriginal people in our penal institutions," LaForme said.

Now, is it just me, or could the drastic over-representation of aboriginal people, maybe, just maybe, be because they are the ones doing the crimes???

During question period, Liberals and NDP get up and complain that tougher sentences are going to mean more aboriginals in jail! You think?? Do we now have to balance our jails so that we are politically correct? We need to have 50% whites balanced by 50% others?

The left just doesn't seem to get it, do the crime, do the time!!

Now, it should be interesting to see the lefties spin the 17 terrorists, who had 3 tons of bomb material, into victims. And, of course, blame it all on Afghanistan and PM Harper, even though the police had been observing them for YEARS. They have already begun to do that at CTV, every talking head is asking every "expert", whether Afghanistan is to blame.

But, to get back to this article, 57 criminal convictions, and the judge gives him a conditional sentence, to be served in the community?? Who is protecting the community, certainly not the judge.

I feel for the victims, but listen to the NDP/Liberals, they never mention the victims. We need a website that tracks decisions by judges. Let's start getting their names out there, let's start making judges accountable, to us, the taxpayers, for their decisions.

Robin Hood, What A Bad Idea!!!

Okay, we all love the idea of taking from the rich to give to the poor. Back in the olden days, it was a necessity. The rich were truly taking advantage of the poor. Is it still, the case today, or are we just loving our Robin Hood while blindly ignoring what an example it is setting, especially for the poor.

How does the average Canadian get rich?? Education, work, innovation, and maybe some good investments, can get you ahead. Is education universal? Yes. Work, can we all work? Yes. Invest? Yes. If I create something innovative, like Velcro, should I be rewarded? Yes. So, if I do all those things and “happen” to get rich, must I share? NO. Will I share? Yes. Do I pay way more in taxes than the average person? Yes. Does this benefit the economy? Yes.

Contrast that with the drug addicted individual. Do they do anything to get ahead, support their family, and help create a better society? NO. Do they need help? For sure! Does guaranteeing people an income, no matter what they do, or do not do, make them more productive members of society? No. Should we support single Mom’s, of course! Should we be forced, by our taxes to support people who can work, but refuse to? No.

Let’s go bigger here; should provinces be able to spend without fear of the consequences because, they know the federal government will bail them out, or municipalities, or non-profit organizations? Should the First Nations, get revenues from their land, without a reduction of their benefits? Should provinces create a daycare system, that is available to only 25% of people in the province, but expect the whole province to pay for it? Third world countries, are they getting better because of our monetary support? Or, do they rely on our support while killing their own people because they are not the right faith, or colour? What is happening to the Hamas, now that they have no money?

A culture of entitlement, only leads to more hands in our pockets. Remember, all levels of government have only one revenue generator, US, the taxpayers. So, we the productive workers, pay municipal, provincial and federal taxes, guess we get hit 3 times, batter out! Also remember, that the corporate taxes paid, are because of what we have purchased from those companies, so, again, the corporate taxes, are our taxes. Depressed yet?

So, Robin Hood, an idea who’s time has come and gone, kind of like unions. You give someone freebies, they just want more and more freebies. Stop the freebies, stop Robin Hood!

Age Of Consent, Might Just Pass

One of the main reasons, as a female, I voted for the Conservatives was that they said in their election platform that they would raise the age of consent from 14 to 16.

Seems they are about to do that, and seems the NDP might support this bill.

So, for two different points of view on this issue, contrast these two:

Egale

A Christian Group, picked by google search

But, I don't care what either group says, I care about protecting my children from dangers like pedophiles. It has been shown that pedophiles are not curable, here's one under oath giving a glimpse into what they do.

Any member of any party that does not vote for this bill is not listening to the mothers and fathers that have to deal will a 14 year old child who can legally have sex with anyone. They are not old enough to smoke, drive a car, or vote, but they are old enough to consent to SEX???????????

Canada is becoming a haven for perverts that want sex with children, and don't tell me that 14 is an adult. We need to protect our most valuable resource, our children. If this bill does not pass, it will show how sick our society has become.

How Do We Get Beer To Our Soldiers For Oilers Games

I think there must be some way we can get beer sent to our soldiers in Afghanistan so they too can have fun cheering on the Oilers! Many of the soldiers deployed are our beloved Patricia Pats from Edmonton, who have lately been taking the brunt of the Taliban attacks.

Who here knows how we can get them some beer for at least one game of the series?? Molson's you hear me? One tiny little Herc, full of cheer, and I will even buy beer instead of wine next time!

CBC 100% Canadian Content! Why Not?

Okay, with the opposition parties worried that the Conservatives will not respect the CBC's right to exist, they ganged up and passed the "Protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expression" bill in parliament today.

Well, okay then, I agree that our culture needs to be preserved, so as noone is watching CBC anyways, except for hockey, let's make the CBC, 100% Canadian content, so us taxpayers can protect and promote the diversity of cultural expression! That's cheap for a cool billion dollars, and it will satisfy all the parameters of the new bill. Canada can keep it's beloved CBC and it's cultural identity by making sure that the CBC only has Canadian content on it's radio and TV stations. It's a win, win solution! CBC wins because it gets to stay around, and we win, because we are preserving our Canadian identity.

When I want to know what the people in Quebec are doing, I can switch to CBC. Not sure what the city is doing about the potholes in my area? CBC. Want to know who is having a garage sale in my area, yup, you guessed it, CBC. Works for me!!!

It would preserve our cultural identity, we can call it the station of Much Culture, "All Culture, All the Time", kind of like, Much Music, "All Music, All the Time".

I tell you, I'm starting to get attached to this idea. I'm sure our Canadian artists will love this, they can all have their own show!

Paint by Numbers for Idiots!

Activists, great, give them their own show.

Why Stay at Home Parents are Raising Criminals!

The opportunity for Canadian only shows is endless.

Tamal Tigers in Canada, a Canadian fund raising telethon! Sure hit!

Okay, my brain is buzzing with so many ideas, I have to stop before it overloads.

I Want To Scrum The Media

Here’s my thinking, if the Prime Minister calls a press conference, and wants to be in control of who asks questions, it’s his party, so if you don’t want to play, don’t accept the invite. Go find some opposition buddy to hang out with, and get your story that way.

If you, the media, are representing the people, then, we, the people, should get an opportunity to question you, and the stories that you write. But we don’t get that opportunity. Sure, we can email you, your papers, or the network that you work for anytime we want. The problem with that, and I have tried it, is that you get back a standard response that simple says something like: Thank you we have received your message.

Thanks for that wonderful feedback!! Makes me feel like my opinion has been heard, NOT!

So, my question is. Who is holding the media to account? They are all over PM Harper and his Ministers, but if you, as a private citizen make a comment about the media performance, or lack thereof, you get a nice little we got your email. Or you can send a letter to the editor, and hope it gets printed, unedited. So, they can edit your letters, and emails, even ignore them if they want, they the media, have that power, as a matter of fact, they think it is their RIGHT. Bet if PM Harper ignored one of their questions they would go ballistic……….oh, wait, they have gone ballistic, because, well, the Prime Minister MIGHT not allow one of them to ask a question!

If the PPG are available everyday, doing nothing as they are not asking questions of the Prime Minister, let’s make Friday a PPG scrum day! I will even line up at the microphone like they would want me to, I assume, because that is what they want to do with the Prime Minister. Let the public fire a few unscripted questions at the media and see how they would handle the pressure!

Like can I ask Jane Taber why she feels she has the right to call someone a bigot? Would she respond? Would she even have the nerve to be there? How about Duffy? Can I ask him about his diet or lack of it? Let’s find out!

I want to scrum the media! Should be fun!!

All Quiet On the Daycare Front??

Where have all the protesters gone? Did the opposition parties finally get some feedback that told them to shut up about this issue? Do they finally realize that parents count? That families count? One can only hope.

So, now that the budget gives families that $100 a month, for beer and popcorn, burp, can the opposition finally realize that, Mom and Dad, are the best people to raise their own children? We do not want the unionized daycares, we want true choice, and that's what we got with the Conservatives.

Just wait until those cheques start rolling out, all the opposition parties are going to see how badly they misjudged the average working Canadian. They have no clue what we think is important.

And, when the GST gets lowered from 7% to 6%, lookout........Conservative rating are going to soar.

GO OILERS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That about sums up how I feel right now. Was an awesome win and bring on the next one!!

Okay, been an Oiler fan since they became Oilers, drank champagne out of the REAL Stanley, and I am glad we have at least one Canadian team still in the running.

So,

GO OILERS GO!!!!!!!!!!

Goodbye, Nichola Goddard

As a female, I feel that Nichola's death brings us into a new era. Females can do a dangerous job, but, they can also be killed. That is the new reality.

If I was Nichola's father, I would be really ticked off that the media picked only the few sentences that he made about the Trenton issue and how the government has reduced access to the family crying and being overcome by their grief. There were much better statements made by Nichola's husband, mostly ignored by the press. That is just sad.

The press shows only what they want to show, they slanted this story, and they made Nichola's sacrifice into a political issue. SHAME on them. Her family is clear that they supported her military career, but the media made it into a slam Harper issue. I'm sure that Nichola's family did not mean this to happen, they just wanted their girl to be given a true military sendoff.

SHAME on the press for making this political, you did not respect Nichola, you made her death a political issue, and that is just not right. SHAME

Opposition Bill Pushing For Kyoto

Believe it or not the Liberals have a bill in Parliament that will force us to legally meet the Liberal Kyoto goals. Now that the Liberals are 35% over our Kyoto targets, they are bringing in a bill that will FORCE us to meet those targets??? They did nothing for over 13 years, our greenhouse gases increased by 29% under the Liberal watch, but now it's the Conservatives that need to clean up the mess?

They have the support of the Bloc and NDP on this bill, so, get ready folks, you will be walking or biking to work if they have their way. As Rona has told us, all transportation will have to be closed down to meet our Kyoto targets. Will the opposition MP's ride bikes to work?? NOT!!!

Klein: Muckers Off Our Resources!!!!

I will be sorry to see Klein go. I can at least be sure he won't sell Alberta out. He is also tough enough to stand up to Ontario and Quebec.

Klein says Alberta has "control" and "authorization" over its resources under the Constitution, and he's seeking a legal opinion to see if there's a way he can pull his province out of the revenue-sharing deal.

Klein is promising a fight unless the federal Conservatives live up to their election promise to not include resource revenues in the equalization formula.

"They made a campaign promise, the federal Conservatives, that they wouldn't include resource revenues in the equalization formula," Klein told reporters in Edmonton Wednesday. "And I would hope they live up to that, because otherwise they're going to have a battle on their hands."

Now, let's see, if Alberta refuses to send it's 11B to other provinces, what can those provinces do?? Beg, cry, maybe stop sucking off the government t--?

Don't get me wrong, my husband is from PEI and I realize that they need help, and as an Albertan, I am more than willing to help other provinces. But we got our debt in control by taking 20% cuts when oil prices were in the tank. No-one helped us then, and believe me, we still remember the NEP out here. Including resource revenues in the equalization equation will be and is a revenue grab just like the NEP. Alberta votes Conservative, because we remember what the Liberals did to our province with the NEP, and we will not put up with that ever again.

Provinces need to stop over spending just because they can, Quebec should have been a have province a long time ago, but they rely on handouts to keep expensive programs like their daycare plan going, and have the nerve to tell the rest of us that they have it right. Sure they do, they understand that for years they have been threatening to leave Canada so they can suck more money out of the federal government, or in other words, our taxpayers money.

So, with Klein and our Edmonton Oilers (sorry Flames), Alberta is the place to be. The west is rising to power and if you don't like it, sorry, but we will not be second class Canadians ever again.

Justice Committee, Or No Justice

Watched CPAC coverage today, Bloq was okay, but all of a sudden Liberals do not support being tougher on crimes. DUH. As if they really wanted to get tough on criminals. Dang, politicans are dumb. Liberals should have supported Afghanistan, but no, they can't see beyond their partisian goals, or noses.

All the talk was about STATISTICS, well, I know all about how you can manipulate those data banks. Every party can quote/slant it anyway they want. Is crime up?? Do the stats support it?? I could care less about statistics, when a little girl gets sexually assualted in Armstrong BC by a deranged homeless person, who I am told, I should feel sorry for, because they are homeless, gag me. I am amazed by the control the police showed by only arresting this sicko. But Liberals will whine that he has rights. He has no rights. He is a blight on society and needs to spend the rest of his life in jail. Put him in the general population, he will not last long. Will I feel sorry, NO.

Derek Lee, an Ontario Liberal, went totally ballistic today, yelling while other members were asking questions to Minister Toews. He said the Conservatives were "fear mongering" about crime! DUH! Drugies are robbing us of $1000 a day per drugie, they are beating up our older people for less than $300, but, we are "fear mongering"?? You need to get a grip Lee, you need to understand that the average Canadian is sick and tired of you, and your soft position on crime.

Don't even get me started on the laws that protect juveniles. Most important are the proposed laws that will finally raise the age of consent from 14 to 16. My God, how can you vote against this law???

I will be taking note of who votes against this, and if you think that ONE person can't make a difference, think again. I have over 700 young minds to talk to, to show who is right, to influence like all the university professors do on a regular basis, without fear, thinking they are superior, thinking they actually have a right to influence young minds. What is scary, is the liberal mind set, the "I am entitled to my entitlements", this will stop, and soon.

Grits Trying To Take The High Road, Sheesh!!!

Okay the Grits got us into this mess, now they are trying to appear to be the heros of the environment??

Does 35% above the Kyoto quota mean anything to the Liberals? Are they sorry for what they have done? Were they ever serious about the Kyoto quotas, or were they planning on sending BILLIONS of our taxpayers dollars to huge pollutors like China, to keep up our international reputation.

Now, this one, has me fuming!!!!!!!

The nerve of the Grits, they sign on to an agreement that they had no intention of keeping, and are calling for Rona's resignation???

Get real! At least Minister Rona Ambrose is being truthful in stating that we will not be able to meet our quotas. But, I guess the Liberals wouldn't know truthful, if it bit them in the butt.

And speaking of butt, I love this one. You go get em PM Harper!

I like this one too!

PPP - Petty Political Politics

Well, it's good to know that Toronto is taking some action against gangs.

See here for the report.

Now, what bugs me is that, Communist Peggy Nash from the NDP, skewered Gwyn Morgan because he dared to say that gangs, some of them refugees, were a problem.

Now we see in Toronto, that the Jamestown Crew, a gang, has been arrested by over 600 police in a sweeping raid.

Okay, I'm not dumb, but the only ones I saw in handcuffs, were, excuse me if saying "black" is "racist", but the media sure didn't say it, but they were all black, and terrorizing their own neighbourhood.

I don't know if they are refugees, but I do know that they are bad guys, can't say they are "criminals" yet, need to be politically correct here.

So, Peggy Nash, Volpe, and the other people who smeared a very honourable man, are worse than scum in my eyes. They let us know that petty political politics are more important than getting a good man to work for our government.

SHAME SHAME SHAME on the Morgan five, who I hope will not be back in Parliament next time, talk about slimy politicians.

Good job by the Toronto Police, keep it up!!

Some Politicians Are Just Plain Dumb.

How can you say you support our troops, but then vote against supporting Afghanistan.

The NDP females are totally screwed up, especially Alexis, they cry about daycare, but can't support women in Afghanistan, who were being beheaded and stoned to death.

So, if you are the party for the underdog, why, why, why, would you vote against the Afghanistan mission?? It makes me sick that the NDP did not support helping women who are being killed for nothing more than going outside without a male escort.

SHAME, SHAME, on you.............expect your members to be decreased in the next election, especially Peggy Nash, the communist. Disgusting behaviour, disgusting party.

This vote should not have even been close, but if you vote against the countries best, our military, you are just sad, no reason I heard tonight was a good reason to not vote for our mission in Afghanistan.

Believe me, no one will remember the Emerson crossing, but they will remember that the NDP, does not support our troops.

It's too bad, because the NDP should have been able to take votes from the Liberals, but with their position on Afghanistan, they just gave the Liberals a hand up.

Opposition Gives Harper Election Ammo

Well, the opposition parties are falling apart or they want an election. That's the only thing I can figure is happening. These moves make no sense otherwise:

1. Opposition parties oust Gwyn Morgan

Okay, that is just playing politics in the worse way. Now, what respectable person, like Morgan, named top CEO in Canada, is going to apply for any position that has to go before a party of opposition MP's and get shot down! So much for getting good people for those jobs. But what a nice gift for the Conservatives during an election! Major oops for the opposition.

2. Opposition irate over snap Afghan mission vote

Make up your minds, day in, day out, the opposition has been harping on when they are going to get a vote on Afghanistan, now they get it and they whine!! The opposition hasn't figured it out yet, they get what they ask for, just not on their schedule. Another score for Harper, the opposition doesn't dare not support this vote, they do and they send a clear message to Canadians that they are not willing to be leaders on the international scene.

3. Liberals want a RCMP probe into AG report leak.

Okay, that's just rich!! The Liberals, who leaked 7 of her former reports, want the RCMP to check this leak out?? See, what did I say, they are falling apart.

The opposition is so out of it, that they passed a bill in Parliament today supporting the Kyoto Protocol??? Now, that's just going to bite them big time politically when the Conservatives actually come up with a great plan, and the opposition will not be able to support it because no plan can meet the Kyoto limits. I smell more election material for the Conservatives on this one.

Even Duffy today alluded to the fact that the opposition has not clued into Harper and how he is masterminding things.......well if they think they had a good day today, Conservatives are going to have a great time will this come election time.

Keep it coming.........MAJORITY in sight!!!

100 Days Of Bright Light, We Are Climbing Out Of The Dark

I never thought I would feel as proud to be a Canadian as I am now. Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Conservatives are Kicking Butt.

My favorite is the Choice for Childcare plan that makes ALL parents equal to daycare parents. Poor daycare union workers are in quite a snit, good, maybe they will start thinking about our babies and not just themselves.

Next in line is Rona Ambrose. Is she going to kick some opposition butt soon!!! Kyoto is bad, bad, bad, for Canada, you go girl, get us something that will actually work!!

Softwood Lumber, DONE!!! After over 20 years, we have a GOOD deal on this issue!!!

GST reduced by 1%, awesome, my 13 year old understands what that means to him, can the NDP understand?? Not likely.

Tough on crime, can't wait for them to raise the age of consent to 16, any party that votes against protecting our children will feel it in the next election.

The list goes on, and on. 100 days, so much done we can't keep count. Where are those farmers??? Happy now.

The Conservatives are silencing all their critics by doing what they promised during the election campaigne. What an idea, actually doing what you say you will.

As far as the judges go, well, just see what they are responsible for. Partner-swapping on the upswing since court ruling
Isn't that inspiring and family building. These judges need to remember that they are human, they are not Gods, as they like to think. Swapping, gag me!

Education Costs, Poor Babies

I can't believe post secondary students who complain about their tuition and books. They actually think they are paying full price for their education.

WRONG!!!!

They are paying for maybe 10% of their education. So, after 4 years of post-secondary education, they are maybe $30,000 in debt. They are going to get a $70,000+ job when they graduate, but they whine about their student loans.

Sorry, you want to rake in $70,000+ a year, $30,000 is less than the car you are going to buy.

Taxpayers are subsidizing all education, you never hear them whining, and now we need to fund early learning?

Sorry, but as a parent, I think I can read a book to my child at bedtime. Are the social engineers going to be there to tuck my children into bed? NOT! Are they going to change the diapers and help them when they have chicken pocks? NO. You can't have a sick kid in daycare.

So, suck it up, you want the big bucks, you pay for it. Noone gets a free ride.

March For Life, No NDP/Bloc

Some brave Conservative and Liberal MP's came out in support of the March For Life. Good for them!! Joanne's Journey has more on this.

I am totally disgusted that not one FEMALE MP or Senator stood up for us females. An abortion is not something that a female will ever forget. If you have ever been pregnant, you know that it is NOT a matter of choice, it is a matter of LIFE! I feel for any woman who has been pressured into having an abortion.

I wonder where the NDP, the protectors of the weak and underprivileged were today? Who is weaker than a teenager who is pregnant, her choice is often to kill her baby, so she can stay home, or keep her boyfriend.

Let's be realistic, the phrase "taking away a woman's right to choose" is political speak for "women should be able to KILL their babies if they want too".

It is totally appalling that Canada has no abortion law at all! Women can request a late term abortion where they crush the head so the baby does not take a breath and is therefore not viable. Baby seals are treated better than human babies.

Even Morgentaler is against late term abortions.

Choice for women means being able to kill your baby. Now, isn't that a nice choice to make, and live with for the rest of your life.

A Win For Families!!

The budget being approved was a win for parents, kids, students, working folk, everyone, except special interest groups!

Why do we send taxpayer dollars to special interest groups, who are now lobbying against the government....which means they are lobbying against me, the taxpayer.

Take the money these groups get and fund the really needy. One activist's salary will keep a low income family of four clothed and fed for a year.

If these activists are soooooo concerned about the single Mom's out there, why don't they start a non-profit society that helps support those Mom's? Too much work I think! Easier to get government funding than to actually go raise some funds. The YWCA is a good example of this thinking. They are spending government funds to fight the Conservatives on their choice in childcare plan. Thank goodness parents now have the choice, not provinces and activists.

If there is a true need for help, charities step in, and Canadians step up by donating to those charities.

Can't survive without government funding, guess you do not need to exist!

Two Most Seperatist Provinces Like Harper's Approach

While talking to my very Liberal parents before the election, I tried to impress on them how close Alberta was to going with a seperatist party if the Liberals got back into power. They wouldn't believe me, cause, well, they are Liberals! How I ever turned out to be a Conservative, is still beyond me!

Luckily the Conservatives won, and we can rest easier here in Alberta. From the poll here, it appears that Quebec is feeling the same sense of relief that we here in Alberta are feeling.

The Leger poll suggested 62 per cent of Canadians were satisfied with the Harper government, while 27 per cent were dissatisfied — and that the highest satisfaction levels were in Alberta (77 per cent) and Quebec (72 per cent).

So, what turned Quebec and Alberta away from seperatism? I think, very simply, Harper wants to return powers to the provinces. His government is going to butt out of our business and let provinces solve their own problems, in their own way.

Provinces now become important again!

Provinces need to realize that they are now responsible for their actions and that the federal government is not going to pander to every pet project they want funded. No more hands in the federal pockets. No more national daycare, no more funding non-profit groups that can't raise their own funds.

So, provinces are going to have to live within their means, and not expect help if they overspend. Should be a shock to some, like Ontario, or, I should say Toronto, because most of Ontario is just like all the other provinces.

Talk about marginalized, the Liberals have Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, and welcome to them! Oh, and they have one province, PEI!

For now, Quebec and Alberta rule!! For you Liberals, that's two provinces, not cities!!

NDP Do Not Support NORAD

Okay, I have no life! Was watching the vote today on CPAC, which explains the no life comment! What struck me, was when it came to the vote on NORAD, the only ones who did not support it were, yup, you guessed, the NDP!

SHAME on you Layton, getting in the governments face about support for Darfur, but you vote against NORAD??

Okay, I admit, I really can't understand lefties, but, if you are trying to win votes, how does not supporting NORAD help you? Even my kids know that NORAD tracks SANTA!

Does the NDP not support SANTA either?? What's next the Easter Bunny??

Okay, all joking aside, not supporting NORAD is a very bad move on the NDP's part. Another bad move they have made is saying that we should take troops from Afghanistan to send to Darfur. I support both missions, but we need to uphold our duty to the Afghanistan mission first, I do not want our troups in Afghanistan being compromised because they do not have the resources to fight.

Layton could have taken the high road, instead he took what he thinks is the popular road, it's going to bite back when he least expects it.

Criminals Shouldn't Be In Jail.

Well, that's what I heard the opposition parties say this week.

This week the Conservatives tabled some tough legislation on crime. None of the opposition appeared to support it, even though they all talked tough during the election.

Now, we have had a police officer killed in Windsor. My prayers go out to the family.

He was doing his job and got killed for it. I will not say "made the ultimate sacrifice" because that is Liberal speak, for got KILLED. He got KILLED!! No other way to put it, no sugar coating, he is dead because of punks with guns, who think they can get away with murder, because they are juveniles, therefore too young to pay for their actions. Even if we find out they are adults under the law, they are still KILLERS.

My 10 year old understands right from wrong. We will probably find out that these kids were brought up in troubled families, and that should therefore negate the crime they committed. WRONG!

You have to understand that these kids know that the liberal mindframe works in their favour. As an example, we hear, we should be building more basketball courts, that will keep them occupied. Not likely!

When a kid gets involved in drugs, they are making $1000 a DAY and up. So, do you really think they care if they KILL someone to protect their turf? Do, you think that teaching them carpentry while they are in jail, for all of 18 months, will make them go out and get a job that pays them peanuts compared to what they can make on the streets??

If you do, give your head a shake, a hard shake so your brains get realigned.

This week we saw some great bills put before the house, but if you want tougher sentences, you need to call your MP, especially those of you in ridings that are held by Liberals/NDP/Bloc MP's, let them know you want criminals to pay for their acts.

Crime does pay, ask any criminal!!

Dalton, No Photo Op?

So, Prime Minster Stephen Harper meets with Dalton, but, no photo op?? Get the picture yet Dalton, Toronto is not the centre of the universe, and Toronto is not the centre of Canada, and Toronto is not even the centre of Ontario!

So, we seem to have the Liberals surrounded, we have circled the wagons around Toronto, and will not let any of those Liberals out into the rest of Canada to pollute our environment.

In the mean time Quebec is getting special treatment, but so far nothing that has ticked me off as an Albertan. I am getting a hugh kick out of Toronto being ignored, poor Dalton, poor Toronto. At least the rest of Ontario knows who can really deliver the goods.

I Am Raising Criminals!

Check out Choice in Childcare

This statement:

SO its a good job there putting more money for prisons in the budget because we're gonna need them if we don't get this early childhood right.

By none other than, Carolyn Bennet, this should be the end of her leadership hopes.

As a parent, I am totally disgusted by the feminists who think the unionist daycare workers are better than, Mom and Dad.

This should be headline news, but no, it's a Liberal leadership candidate, can't show them in any bad light now can the media? Why is every other clip from Duffy Live on the CTV site but this one? Bias maybe??

Money INTO Our Pockets!

Finally a government that gets it's hands out of our pockets and gives us back some of our hard earned dough!

GST reduction, excellent!

$1200 for parents of children 6 and younger, Great if it prevents a NATIONAL (socialist) daycare...notice how all the daycare supporters have changed the language they have been using? It used to be DAYcare, now it's childcare or early education. GAG me!! Let the crying begin! Finally parents can make their own choices.

Students and tradespeople get a break! But, of course it won't be enough, nope according to the lefties, only FREE tuition and NO DEBT will be enough. Double GAG me. Students of post secondary have no clue that taxpayers already pay more than 80% of the cost of their education. They whine about being $20,000 in debt after 4 years of superior education, when they will be making $60,000 and up on graduating. Sorry, glad you get some help with your books and tools, but that's enough, we taxpayers deserve the breaks not you. I worked 2 jobs to put myself though university, so can you, if you have the brains.

Kyoto, gone bye bye, GOOD!! Junk science at it's worse.

Kelowna Accord, piece of garbage, GONE! I can't blame the First Nations for wanting 5+B more than the already 9B they get, but why do they still have bad water, housing and education? Is the money getting through to the right people? The Conservatives will make sure that money spent on the First Nations is well spent, not just thrown at a problem.

More money for agriculture, military, police, to build prisons, it's all positive!

So many other cuts that I can't list them all! Only thing I can think wasn't mentioned was the gun registry, but I suspect we will hear about that one very soon. They need to cut money, hummmmmm, maybe the registry??

All in all, a very good day again for the Conservative government.

Emergency Debates, A Waste Of Time

First, who posted the Eagle Eye Cam It's addicting and more interesting than the emergency debates!

I have now watched the emergency debate on; agriculture, Afghanistan and now Durfur. I fail to see what the purpose of them are when no-one shows up?

The opposition whines and cries until they get their emergency debate, then they forget to show up! The Conservatives seem to be the only party that has some people there the whole time.

If these debates are such an emergency, all parties and all MP's should have to be there to debate! Why am I sitting there watching the whole thing on CPAC when MP's are out having dinner? You want this debate, you better be there or you will get a smaller paycheque next month!

What gets accomplished? Nothing. What is the purpose? Make the Conservatives look bad if they do not agree to an emergency debate on whatever is the flavour of the day.

We know that the government is busy, well, governing, but what does the opposition do all day? Hang around in their offices discussing what emergency should be debated next? Plotting election strategies? These debates just stop the flow of government without helping solve any of the problems.

CTV Forcing Me To Watch CBC

It's pathetic but CBC is actually less biased than CTV. No TV media supports the Conservatives, but amazingly CBC is not the worse. One example:

CTV

Dawn Black, the NDP's defence critic, scoffed at the notion of debate and a vote.
"It's a done deal," she said. "Our minister of national defence has signed this agreement with the American Ambassador David Wilkins. It's a done deal, so it makes a hypocrisy out of any form of democratic discussion or debate."
Added Liberal MP John McCallum: "They seem to be doing this in secrecy, which is becoming a pattern."

CBC

CBC News Online reported in February that Canada planned to extend the Norad treaty to include maritime surveillance. Defence Minister Gordon O'Connor said at the time that the proposed treaty would not mean a loss of sovereignty over Canadian waters.
O'Connor also dismissed fears that it might lead to U.S. warships patrolling Canadian waters.
"It doesn't change our responsibility as a country," O'Connor said at the time. "We have to look after our own sovereignty. We have to deal with any threats coming from the sea."

Global

Questions about the agreement were raised after American officials announced that Defence Minister Gordon O'Connor and David Wilkins - the U.S. ambassador to Canada - signed the renewal papers Friday in Ottawa.
The U.S. officials said the deal commits Canada to indefinitely take part in NORAD, the North American Air Defence Command, the joint-Canada-U.S. defence agency that guards North American skies.

The prize goes to CTV and the Liberals for the SECRECY label. Be careful, because CTV is often worse than CBC.

Soldiers In Cities Alarming!

Oh oh, here we go again, scary!!

Military exercise alarms city's refugee community

How can this be, here in Canada, in our cities, refugee's alarmed? Looks like those Liberals were right!

Wanda Yamomoto, volunteer service co-ordinator with Welcome Place, says soldiers patrolling the streets could evoke horrific memories for new immigrants, many of whom came to the city from war-ravaged nations.

"We have a number of refugees who are located primarily in the downtown area," Yamomoto said. "As soon as they start to see folks in full military combat uniforms carrying rifles and things like that, they may be re-traumatized."

Maybe if Wanda did her job and told those refugees what is going on, they wouldn't be alarmed. Typical Liberal/NDP do-gooder, busy doing more harm then good!

Harper, One Smart Cookie!

Okay, I've been dancing around all day with this softwood lumber deal. Watching on CPAC, I noticed that when Harper said that BC, Ont, and Que, were all agreed, even the Conservative MP's were shocked!

So, how'd he do that? Well, he's one smart cookie! Deal or no Deal! Guess the provinces wanted to deal. No deal, you go it alone, keep up the legal battle, while the rest of the provinces benefit from a deal.

The opposition looked like "deer caught in the headlights". Three months and a done deal. Thirteen years of nothing.

This will put the Conservatives solidly into majority country. I can't wait for the budget, should be interesting.

I was at an election party on January 23rd. My MP won big, but no-one was really happy about the results, after a perfect campaign, how could we have only won a slim minority? It was good news, bad news.

This softwood lumber deal, it's like winning majority!

Gas Is a Hot Topic, Why Not Banks?

Okay, I know we all are hurting with the price at the pump, but, banks are gouging us and we don't even whimper about it. Their profits are just as huge as oil companies, and they can not claim that it is due to world demand and supply. They can not claim it's a non-renewable resource therefore scarce, and banks get to create money, don't know of any oil company that can do that!

They prey on the most helpless and make us feel like we should be happy they will take our money.

Canadian Banking fees

So, you go to an ATM and withdraw $20 and pay $1.50 for that privilege. That's a 7% charge for one transaction. A savings account nets you .05% per month, not per transaction! If you keep $1000 in savings, that's a whole 50 cents a month!! (I find more than that in coins on the ground per month) Then add to that their service fees, usually $15 or more per month, $180 per year, and for what?? They get to use your money to lend it out or invest it at much higher rates than .05% I won't even start on credit cards, that's such a racket it's disgusting!!

I do all my banking over the internet. I only actually go into my branch when I need a money order for something I bought on ebay, add another $5+ per money order for that little privilege. My pay is automatically deposited, most payments are automatically deducted, by computers, not a teller.

So, why are we not up in arms about banks and their massive profits, earned on the backs of low/middle income earners? Why do we cringe when we have to go for a loan or a mortgage? Heaven help you if your credit rating isn't up to snuff!

Banks have us brainwashed into believing that they are helping us, when just the opposite is true. Without our deposits, banks can not create money by loaning it out. Personal deposits make up a huge proportion of a banks deposits but they cater to businesses, not individual depositors.

I often think that if we all decided to not use any ATM machines, debit cards or credit cards, for just one day, we could make banks sit up and notice who really has the power. Can you imagine the panic in the banks when everybody comes into the bank to ask for real money? (and the lineups)We could stop the whole economy for a day, but I wouldn't do that, our poor elderly people would panic.

It's nice to dream of making banks understand that the smallest depositor matters, because without us, they have no lending ability!

Fly That Flag High!!

Keep that flag flying high over Parliament, this shows our respect of our soldiers more than lowering it ever will.

In battle, keeping the flag high has always been a symbol for soldiers to rally behind. A lowered flag means defeat.

We can show more respect with a Canadian flag flying high, and proud in our nations capital then if we lower it for every battle death.

Lower the flag in the soldier's hometown. I saw today that Save-On-Foods had their flag lowered here in Edmonton, and it was very touching, it made me feel very sad that we had lost one of our own, but it made me proud that we have helped contribute to make our country safer. It also made Edmonton special, all of Edmonton should lower their flags to make the rest of Canada aware of the fact that it was one of ours that is a hero.

This must also be how the military feels, it is their special loss, let them tell us that by letting only those bases who have lost a soldier lower the flag. If everybody lowers the flag, it takes away from the honour we wish to extend to the families of the fallen.

Politicians have no right to change years of tradition that the military respects, and the media is totally wrong in whinning about not getting to have cameras in Trenton. The families need some private time to grieve and we don't need to be "peeping toms" on that grief.

A lowered flag means defeat, this is not the message Canadians want to send to our troops.

Fly that flag high over Parliament so our soldiers know that we support them, that Canada is here for them, and that we are strong and free, because of the efforts of our military.

Flip Flop, Well Isn't That A Hoot!!

Today every Liberal during question period, used this term, flip flop. It really was too funny, they are trying to label PMSH, and seeing a Mr Dithers, has already been used, it appears the best they can come up with is flip flop.

Well, so far Prime Minister Stephen Harper has not flipped, nor flopped on any of the 5 priorities, so I'm pretty sure this label will not stick. Nice try though! I guess honest, mature, hard working government, just doesn't have the same ring to it!

I would like to see all the Conservatives walk into question period wearing flip flops and chewing gum. That would be hilarious!! We all know who the flip flopping ditherers are, and it certainly is not the Conservatives.

Back to the drawing board for you Liberals, and could you try being a little more mature? How they could even stand up and say flip flop with a straight face is beyond me, but Liberals take themselves far too seriously and probably didn't see the humour in much these days!

Flip flop, more like top notch!

Less Is Best

I am tired of money being thrown to every squeaky, vocal, special interest group that has a cause.

Less government, less taxes, less programs, less pandering to a small percentage of the population.....less is best!!

Less government in the markets, why should the government have crown corporations? Get rid of the CBC and Canada Post, let the market step in and I bet they will do a far better job than any Crown corporation.

Less taxes, the surpluses indicate that the federal government is taking too much away from us, the taxpayers. If we had that money in our pockets, our economy would be doing way better. Governments are not efficient. They should stick to what the markets will not supply, such as roads and schools and leave the rest to private enterprise.

Less programs. The gay pride parade, is in debt and might not run this year?? Sorry, if it is a good cause they should be able to raise the necessary funds, if not, too bad. Governments should not be funding special interest groups that do not reflect the interests of the population.

If it's a good worthwhile cause, people will donate to the charity. It is not the governments responsibility to fund charities.

Take our taxes and support people who really need it to live, seniors, physically disabled, and mentally disabled. Poverty would become a thing of the past.

So, less is more for those who really need it!

Age Of Consent, Who Can Vote Against It??

Every parent I know wants the age of consent raised from 14 to 16 years of age. I'm not talking about puppy love, or teen on teen sexual experimentation, that's going to happen, we all went through that phase.

I'm talking about people all over the world knowing that Canada has a low age of consent. This means sexual predators can come to Canada, and LEGALLY live with a 14 year old, and parents have no recourse, they have no way to get their babies back. A 14 year old can go to a swingers club as long as they do not serve booze, that's LEGAL and parents have no way to fight it!

Last parliament, the Liberals and the Bloc voted against raising the age of consent. Amazingly the NDP were split!!

Why, if a 14 year old, is not old enough to, drive, drink, or vote, is it okay for them to have sex, one of the most mature decisions we have all had to make?

Who can vote against this bill?? Dare the Liberals and Bloc vote against this again?? Does the media dare go against this??

I think not, but if they do, I will take note of who voted against it and next election, this will be made a big issue, if only on my blog.

Brutal Gas Prices, But My Oil Stocks Are Up!

Well, I was looking at putting some air in my bikes tires today after the last gas price jump, but sadly, that idea didn't last long. It takes me 45 minutes to drive to work now, how long would it take me to bike...I'm exhausted just thinking about it.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today said, we should get used to it, demand, (especially in China and India), is rapidly overtaking supply.

The new reality is that the days when OPEC could regulate the oil price with supply shortages/surpluses, are gone.

I expect that renewable energy sources are going to be part of the Conservative plan for the environment. It's a great time to shift the public focus off of the unworkable Kyoto Accord to a more workable renewable energy program.

I was talking about Kyoto the other day, and explaining why I didn't support it, and most of the people I talked to had no idea what it was all about. All they knew was that it had something to do with the environment, and therefore it must be good. Boy, were they shocked when I told them our money could be sent to China, and that no pollution would actually be reduced.

So, while I watch the price of gas increase, I am also watching the price of my oil stocks increasing. At least, if I want to cash those stocks in, I will spend that money here, in Canada. I bet if you all check your pension funds, or RRSP's you will find that you are benefiting from those higher prices as well!

Now, should I melt those pennies down for the zinc and copper content??

Bring This Government Down Over Childcare I Dare You

Had to love Harper today, see story here

He was pretty much daring the Liberals to bring him down on this issue. I wish they would, we could then enjoy a majority government that could get something done without having to listen to all the whining.

I loved his talk about money going directly to families NOT the government, academics and advocates. You must listen to the speech, it was right on target, he even joked that the kids yelling in the background were not even close to the noise of the press gallery in Ottawa. Nice dig Stephen!!

Another good dig was his comment to reporters who were trying to make it seem like Emerson was still an issue because of the protesters outside. PMSH said something like: Emerson is doing a great job and the same 10 protesters come out everytime, isn't that getting a little old! Sweet! Told the reporter in a very nice way to shut up and get over it. The audience applauded that one loudly.

I'm liking this guy alot!! He's got a vision for a Canada that I want my kids to live in, not the Liberal wasteland that we have had to endure.

Banning the Bra, Start of the Downhill Slide

Back from Easter trip, five pounds heavier, but loved it anyways.

So, why is it Liberals ban things and Conservatives want choice?

It all started with banning the bra, and it has gone downhill since then. (Especially for those hippy types who burnt their bras, bet their regretting that move now! Talk about downhill!)

They never say it, but they want to ban individualism.

Ban guns, stop individuals from having the ability to choose to protect their families, or even support their families by hunting. They think people who can think for themselves, and provide for themselves are dangerous. If you do not rely on government to live, they have no control over you. Power is important, but, you have no power if you can not control the vocal minorities.

Ban the definition of traditional marriage to shut up maybe 5% of the population that is very vocal.

Ban choice in childcare, let 75% of people pay for the 25% who use daycare. This means banning individuals from choosing to work or not, they want to force us into the workplace and make stay at home Moms/Dads even more irrelevant than they already are to Liberals.

The only choice Liberals want is in abortion, then it becomes a woman's "choice". We hear it repeated time after time, don't you dare take my right to choose away from me! So, lucky women get to choose to kill a baby, get pressured into killing a baby, and it's paid for by all of us. Those of us who are adamantly opposed to abortion, are forced to pay for murder. Do they pay for couples who want to have children but can't? No! Maybe when gay couples vocally complain about needing it, they will change their position.

Other than that, they want to dictate to us what we need and how we think. Don't agree with the Liberal position, you are then labeled as: racist, homophobic, uncaring, redneck, sexist, oh, the list goes on... and on........and on.

The Liberals and NDP keep up the mantra of "we are for the poor in society"! So, why haven't they banned the poor yet?? No-one is allowed to be poor, now that's a law that they can get right behind. Except the poor are for the most part silent, therefore, they can be ignored, by the way, they don't tend vote either.

Ban the Liberals........works for me!

Happy Easter Everyone

Don't know if that is still politically correct, but, for all of you celebrating have a great long weekend.

Personally, I'm flying to join my whole family in celebrating Easter. Well, first comes Good Friday, got to fast that day, not my favorite day, especially when all that baking is going on and you can't eat any of it.

But, Sat and Sun, ohhh yummmm. Tradition is a great thing, gives you something to pass down to the next generation.

Now, how do I get those tomato plants and cabbage rolls safely on the plane?

No matter, HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY, whatever you believe!

Everyone Wants Their Pound of Flesh...NOW!!!!!

After 13 years of Liberals doing nothing, I listened to an activist saying the Conservatives are "running out of time." They've only been in power 2 months!!! But, they are running out of time?? I didn't hear these people running off at the mouth about the Liberals running out of time.

Gag me!!!!!!!!!! Just today, I heard:

Enviro weenies running scared, saying, the opposition should bring the Conservatives DOWN, because they are cutting funding to their groups, that have had 13+ years under the Liberals, to do something, but haven't. As a matter of fact the greenhouse gases have increased by 30%. Don't blame Kyoto, blame these weenies for getting grants and doing nothing for years.

NDP and Bloc, both had "their" way for childcare.

Canadian Taxpayers Federation, harping about, access to information.

Journalists, not getting to ask their questions when they want too. Boo Hoo!

NDP were harping about passports.....hummmmmmm... that bill was passed in the US Congress 2 years ago(you know another COUNTRY), what did they do about it??? Must be "moved on quickly."

Okay, my head aches, eyes are spinning....everyone knows what's best for US the voters, and all of a sudden, everything is needed immediately, or sooner.

One thing I notice watching/listening to all these pleas, is a shrillness, a panic. I smell fear!!

These guys, might actually have to work for their living now. Poor babies!

Is Rae a Metrosexual?? What The Heck Is That??

While at Free Dominion, the term metrosexual came up, so I asked what a metrosexual was, and got some great responses and an excellent site

So, is Rae a metrosexual and will that fly out west? I asked my beer drinking, pickup driving, unshaven hubby (I'd say gun wielding too, just to make you lefties happy, but he doesn't own one) if he would ever carry a purse and streak his hair...well you can imagine the look I got!

So, from my one man survey, I guess Rae, out here in the west, NOT SO MUCH!

Don't Wimp Out On This One

Between transplanting some of my annuals to bigger pots (I start them too soon every year, just optimistic I guess!) and cooking supper, I watched some of Goldhawk on CPAC regarding the upcoming "takenote" debate on Afghanistan. What struck me was that some callers just plain ignored the truth.

Some blamed the Conservatives, well duhhh, it was the Liberals that sent our troops over there, but don't let the truth get in your way. Some thought we should only be "peacekeepers", and not "peacemakers", what do we have the military for then? But, mainly I couldn't believe the callers that were saying that we were "in bed" with the Americans.

I am sick and tired of this bashing of the Americans, last time I checked, I am in America. As a matter of fact, I am a Canadian living in North AMERICA, Canada, Alberta, Edmonton. People have been brainwashed for so long that if you asked them why they don't like Americans they couldn't give you any intelligent answer.

Even the Taliban are saying we are weak and that they are going to use that against us by increasing the suicide bombings and attacks. Isn't that exactly what Stephen Harper said would happen?

But no, the NDP wanted a debate, and a debate we will now have. If the NDP and Bloc do not show full support for our troops, they are going to have to answer (maybe only to me) why they do not support helping the people of Afghanistan. If, the NDP, the supposed party of the underdog, do not support this mission, women all across Canada should wake up and understand that the NDP are all about increasing the number of MP's in Ottawa, and not about helping women worldwide to achieve success and equality. This will show that the NDP talk the talk, but do not walk the walk!

Same as the women's groups that are trying to tell us that we need institutionalized daycare, and that stay at home Mom's/Dad's do not count. They are backed by unions who see $$$$ if a national daycare is established, they do not see children that need to be cared for by a loving adult.

Well, I support our troops wholeheartedly, and pray they all come back safe and sound. We need to send our troops a strong message, like Larry the Cable Guy would say, "GET R DONE!!"

All you wimpy, IQ challenged, bleeding hearts need to get your heads out of the sand, and enter the real world, the global world, where people help each other, because we should, not because it will get votes.

De-fund This One or Show Me The Money

Why did the Status of Women Canada receive 23 million from our federal government to dish out to other organizations?? That's what I wanted to find out.

I went to the site to find out who they fund and why, I got this:

Funding
Overview
This section contains information about the funding programs administered by Status of Women Canada's Policy Research Fund and by Women's Program.

That's it, no information, no click on this, check out that, no nothing, last updated 2003-01-10??? Are they still active? What are they doing? Who are they helping? What organizations are getting the funds?

Don't get me wrong, as a female, I applaud womens groups who want to help promote equality, but really, it all comes down to, show me the money!! Where the heck did/does it go? What groups are being supported by the SOWc and what are they using it for? Are they using it to fight against Choice in Childcare?

There are many government agencies left over from the last government that need to be re-evaluated and de-funded if they are inefficient. Hope they check into this one.

800 Million Needed Or Else??

I keep hearing about how great the Quebec daycare program is, and how all of the provinces in Canada want the same program, but I also keep hearing how they need $800 Million to sustain it! Is that for one year?? If we were to give that to one province, could they at least make sure that no daycare worker strikes for 45 years??

So, 800M times 10 provinces?? Sorry, my calculator blew up when I tried to get that answer. And, don't forget the territories, add some more in for them.

These DAYcare advocates are funded by US (and no, that is not the United States to clarify for you Liberal/NDP types) our taxes are paying for these special interest groups that are totally self serving and out of touch with real people. They are just busy trying to save their "jobs". I say, try working at a real job like millions of people who are productive members of society, not leeches.

The government needs to de-fund these self serving do nothing groups. They are useless.

Give the money to groups that really need the help, like autistic children and disabled people. Too much money is going towards groups like "People for....(you fill in the blank)", but YWCA comes to my mind as one example. We can take that money and make a change for people who really need it, not some artist who wants to study in Paris.

Socialism is killing Europe, let's make sure it doesn't kill Canada!

Disgusting Attack on Little Girl in School

PERVERT AT LARGE

A pedophile predator is at large in the city today - and parents at Oliver School are holding their children a little tighter - after a Grade 2 girl was sexually assaulted inside a washroom.

www.edmontonsun.com/News/Edmonton/2006/04/04/1518973-sun.html

This is a sad commentary on our laws. When our kids are not even safe in our schools, something desperately needs to be done. You drop your kids off at school and expect them to be safe until you pick them up again. I do not blame the school or teachers, I blame our court system for being too soft on criminals, especially sexual predators.

Our judges need to get into the real world, they are so out of touch with reality they think it's okay for an older man to stalk young children on the internet.

We need the age of consent to be raised from 14 to 16 so that parents can protect their babies, because no matter how developed physically a 14 year old is today, intellectually and emotionally they are still little kids.

Parents need the ability to protect their young, but if a 14 year old wants to have sex with a 22 year old or older person, the parents have no way legally to stop it. Or worse yet, if a swingers club doesn't serve alcohol, they can legally let a 14 year old join in their games.

At 14, these children can not drive a car, vote, or drink, but they can have SEX, legally with someone who is 40???

In the last sitting of Parliament, the Liberals and Bloc voted against raising the age of consent, the NDP were split on the issue. Only the Conservatives supported it.

Raising the age of consent is going to be a part of the Conservative plan to get criminals behind bars and keep them there, I hope this time it passes. Shame on any MP who votes against it this time!

Deal or No Deal...

I like the show, but it gets boring after awhile.

Just like the posturing the opposition parties are doing. I'm getting tired of the socialist, unionist, people telling me that only 36% of people voted for the Conservatives. My vote made a difference this time and I want to see some changes!

Give me and every other average Canadian the respect that our vote accords us. Quit marginalizing my vote for the Conservatives. My vote made a difference, it changed the government of Canada. Given the stranglehold the Liberal mindset has on people, this is no small deal!

So, deal or no deal, well the opposition better say DEAL!!

Alberta PC's Kill Their Own Party

Well, Klein is out, but so are the PC's in Alberta. Maybe not the next election, but if they elect the wrong leader, someone Albertan's perceive to be small l Liberal, they are done.

Federally, Alberta went all blue. This shows a strong support for Conservative ideals. Having the Conservatives elected federally also stopped short, for the time being, the growing calls for seperation. Albertans are going to give PM Stephen Harper's government a lot of rope in the hopes that at least some of their priorities will get passed.

A majority of Albertans still liked and supported Klein, I have always supported him because he got elected by saying he was going to cut government and eliminate the debt. He did that, and despite those cuts, got re-elected with majorities. What does that say about Albertans?? We like a straight shooter! That's why we like Harper, we believe what he says is going to happen, will actually happen.

My perception of the Alberta PC's has changed, and not for the better. This leaves me with a problem, I can not vote for the Liberals or the NDP, they are just out of touch with me and what I want for my family. That leaves the PC's or Alliance. Kind of like when the PC's federally messed up, I wasn't going to vote at all until the Reform Party took form. I was happy to have a party close to my ideals to vote for, but who will I vote for in the next provincial election??

Maybe I will vote for the PC's, if they are careful to elect a true Conservative, because that is the direction the country is headed under the leadership of Stephen Harper. If not, the Alliance gives me an alternative to vote for, in the short run, or maybe the long run, given Alberta's voting patterns.

Is the PC party going to suffer the same fate as the other 3 provincial parties in our history?? I don't know, but they might.

I know I have no links to an article to support all this. I am new to blogging, and want to thank The Blogging Tories for adding me to their list (Thanks Stephen). As far as I can figure out, blogging is a diary of thoughts on various issues, so these are my thoughts, agree or not!

King Klein and Who's Next in Line

I was upset about the results of the vote because most Albertans still Love/Hate Klein. I've always been able to relate to him as a "I am who I am kind of guy". With Klein, you got what you got. He is one of the first politicians I can remember who ran on an agenda of cutting jobs, downsizing government and getting rid of our debt and he did exactly as he promised.

That being said, I don't think it was a vote so much against Klein as it was against his long 2 year retirement.

Now, who can replace Klein when he does retire??

Alberta needs a dynamic new leader who can defend our rights against all comers. We are the new economic engine in Canada and we need someone tough enough to protect our interests while working with the federal government. The PC's in Alberta are in the same situation as the Liberals nationally. They need to rethink their policies, and they need to remember who votes for them and why. Going with the statis quo will mean votes lost to the Alliance.

So, who's in the running??
Dinning...nope too Liberal, he gets elected, my vote goes to the Alberta Alliance
Manning...nope I liked him and his ideas, but his time has come and gone
Oberg...nope only slightly less Liberal than Dinning
Morton...maybe, I'm hearing more about him all the time and he might just be the one

Understand that Albertans stay with one party for long periods of time, but they also switch parties on a dime... and it will not be the Liberals or NDP, count on that.

So, beware of who you elect, the PC's could become the next party sent to the penalty box for a long time!
