This Is Going To Bug The Lefties

Easter is a very joyful time for Christians. It seems that others agree.

Pope baptizes prominent Italian Muslim

VATICAN CITY -- Italy's most prominent Muslim commentator, a journalist with iconoclastic views such as support for Israel, converted to Roman Catholicism Saturday when the pope baptized him at an Easter service.

As a choir sang, Pope Benedict XVI poured holy water over Magdi Allam's head and said a brief prayer in Latin.

"We no longer stand alongside or in opposition to one another," Benedict said in a homily reflecting on the meaning of baptism. "Thus faith is a force for peace and reconciliation in the world: distances between people are overcome, in the Lord we have become close."

Christians and Muslims are not far apart in their beliefs, as this baptism shows. It is interesting that he converted at Easter, a time of renewal. May he finally find a true home with the Catholic Church.

Why is his conversion more believable than Obama's? I guess for me it is because he was baptized by the Pope. I am sure many do not respect the Pope as much as I do, but compare him to Obama's preacher, then decide.

Happy Easter, and God Bless.

Happy Easter Babylonian.
Happy Easter Dr. Roy.

True Dr. Roy, the message is spreading, but the media fails to mention it. It just proves the media is not as powerful as it thinks it is, conversions continue.

Thanks hunter. www.thestar.ca has it under the banner article. I have a feeling the muslims will give us some free advertisment, I pray that no one gets killed in the process though, especially the convert. God strenghten him.

Egypt itself is having a christian revolution, almost all due the courageous work of Father Zackarias. He broadcasts his show (lecture/discussion/debate/call in style) from California I believe, and its reaching coutnless in the middle east.

I was privy to some information that some Royals in the house of Saud have converted, lol. My heart burns for muslims, especially seeing how many are from my blood, its funny how some would portray it as christians having grudges with muslims, I mean my heart burns with love for them.

Interesting Babylonian, I too hope nothing comes of this, no riots.

It was an individual decision made by one person on how they wanted to live their life.

Why would it bug "Lefties" if someone converts from one dopey religion to another?

Yep, Happy Christian Co-opted Adaptation of a Pagan Spring Fertility Festival Day!

Now that we have that out of the way, hand over the chocolate eggs.

What joy can you possibly find in irritating people you don't care for?

You corrupt "Christians" really need to do a lot more soul-searching. Your "joy" is sounding awfully forced.

Actually I did make a mistake with the title, it belongs on another post I was working on.

Who says I don't care for lefties? My parents are both lefties, and I love them!

Church was inspiring, now, on to the Easter egg hunt.

Happy Easter to ALL! Yes, even you lefties!

Hunter: "Conversions continue."

Woot!! Those Muslims are dropping like flies!

The media fails to mention that a prominent Muslim commentator in Italy converted to Catholicism? I mean, first my mother's birthday, and now this? And they wonder why conservative bloggers call them irrelevant.

By the way, when forcing an offhand reference to Reverend Jeremiah Wright into a post, I say we capitalize both parts of "Obama's Preacher" for greater impact. Just a thought.

What in hell are you trying to do here? How on earth would this bother lefties? Lefties believe in choices - so your argument is rather stupid.

It's conservatives who live in the narrow world.

LOL - pitiful attempt at silly partisanship. Really, STUPID.

The thingy about the Muslim guy changing his mind is in the Globe and Mail today.

We're good now?
