Global Warming On Our Trip, Or Not!

We had a wonderful Christmas, I hope everyone else did too! Funny what a week without the internet can do for you.

As we were driving, we heard that PM Harper had appointed 18 Senators, and that Mike Duffy was one of them, then the station cut out, and through the mountains you only get CBC Radio if you are lucky, so I had to watch TV to get confirmation that it really was true. I'm happy for "The Duff", but sad for Conservatives because the only balanced TV reporter (except Rex Murphy) has now lost his voice, and we have lost ours as a consequence. Craig Oliver must be livid, maybe he can console Phil Fontaine, but the Senate appointments are old news for everyone but me.

Global warming hit us on both the drive to and from Kelowna. You would not have believed how the frozen waterfalls were melting because of all the cars driving through the mountains. It was very disturbing! (If you look really hard, the salt on the road has melted some of the ice.)

The only conclusion I can reach is that we must close all routes into BC so we can save the planet! Sorry Mom and Dad, but the BC carbon tax seems to be working so well that you BC'ers must be isolated so that the rest of Canada doesn't pollute your world. This might also help to keep BC Bud in BC, but I'm sure that pack mules through the mountains will still somehow make it to Alberta. HA.

I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed, and after white knuckling it through the mountains one more time, I leave you with this video, which expresses my joy that my family is once again home, safe and sound.

Okay, I'm not Celtic, but music is a unifier.

Yea, we all got hammered, equally!

It is great that you guys had a lovely trip and are home safe.
When I saw that you were heading out that day, my fingers were crossed for you!

Global warming? Whatever!

Welcome home.
You have a lot of catching up to do, the Senate, the Isralies deciding to finally defend themselves, the Palestinians protesting the violence against their people, and especially the chance to watch the gore movie on CBC on New Years Day.

Yikes MaryT, are they still pedaling that Gorish garbage? I think I will go back to no internet, or maybe not, that's another post coming soon.

Thanks Bec, it's always a scary trip in the winter, even my boys prayed for a safe trip, and that's something from teenagers.

I like the frozen waterfalls. I went up to Algonquin Park in January for a day of hiking and the 60 featured many displays of frozen waterfalls on the rock face. We had had a series of snowfalls, rains, thaws, and freezes and the run-off created the most amazing frozen waterfalls.

Hunter, no I am not peddaling goregarbage. Just wanted to warn you it is coming on this week so stay away from cbc.
However, a comment we hear everyday is, just imagine how cold it would be if it wasn't for global warming, or hey, where is that GW, bring it on. LOL

Glad you are home safe and sound. After the lull of the holidays (go back and read some of the articles trying to prove to Canadians that the Coalition is just fine and lots of countries do it and Canadians should just be accepting of it.

I have been reading (parts of) a whole debunking of the global warming theory by Sen. Inhof - some very interesting comments and stats. I have saved it for future reference because I am sure we will need it. Here is the link

There is a 64 page PDF document you can download with facts, websites etc. You might want to save it for future reference.

Welcome Home and Happy New Year,Hunter.

Keeping with the global warming theory - in searching Google I came aross this post from last January where they debunk the debunking. (You knew they were going to do that).

http://getenergysmartnow.com/2008/01/11/debunking-inhofes-413/

Since it was from last January, I went to their home page and found their request for letters to their descendents apologizing for global warming.

One says

"Most of all I want to tell you I am sorry for how short-sighted we were. I thought I was doing all that I could to leave a good world for you to inherit, but it turns out I could have done more.

Welcome back home, Hunter. Hope you had a Merry Christmas. Glad you had a safe trip.

BTW, sure could do with some of that global warming right now.

Unless Iggy is bluffing, we still need to keep an eye on the Unholy Alliance.

Another link to the Iggy and coalition thing.

So we will need to keep up with those emails, phone calls, rallies etc. to the MPs, media outlets, and the GG in the New Year.

This all fits with the sell job the media are doing to try to convince Canadians that the Coalition is just fine and it is done all the time. This is about whitewashing and cleansing it as something normal and acceptable.

Mark my words - they will try again but only after polls say that Canadians would be accepting of a Coalition.

Interestingly, Jack Layton talks about it being done all over the world. He does realize that the majority of those coalitions are with right wing parties, doesn't he.?

Tell me, Alberta Girl, how many times can you recall Jack thinking before he spoke? Oh, you can't. I see. LOL. Believe it or not, his wife is even worse - ever see her in QP? The lady makes no sense at all. The two are perfectly matched.

AltaGirl: Inhofe is bat$hit crazy. He was the second largest recipient of political donations from the oil and gas industry. What else is he going to say?

He voted for torture. Enough said.

Thanks for all the links everyone, now I have some late night reading I can do to catch up after a week without the internet!

SQ, it's my understanding that Iggy also thinks torture is okay, so is he bat$hit crazy too?
