So I'm checking out the Obama climate bill, and an expert from Pembina talks about how great it is. Wonderful, let's waste more taxpayers money on CO2 capture, and cap and trade. Sounds more like Obama's plan will be a cap and no-trade bill. How are they going to do without 20% of their energy needs, if Alberta oil sands are cut off because they are "dirty", how about the "blood" oil from elsewhere?
WASHINGTON — Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday unveiled draft climate change legislation to slash America's greenhouse gas emissions by 20 per cent by 2020, setting the stage for a protracted and intense political debate in Washington that has potentially major consequences for Canada's energy industry.
Hey, us friendly Albertans can help with that 20% thingy you Democrats are worried about, we stop the oil...presto magic, 20% reduction by 2009, 11 years early! We will even throw in the 1606 dead bodies of ducks, the only casualties from 20 years of oil sands production. Cap and trade those potentially major consequences for the US.
But our own home grown eco-friendly pals, think Obama is on the right track.
Matthew Bramley, director of the climate change program at the Alberta-based Pembina Institute, praised the U.S. draft legislation.
The low-carbon fuel standard "reinforces the message that business-as-usual levels of pollution from Alberta's oilsands cannot continue," Bramley said.
Speaking of business-as-usual Bramley buddy, just what is the Pembina Institute up to these days? You wouldn't be so craven and unprincipled as selling your souls to companies to make a buck now would you? Say it isn't so! You have gone over to the side of the nasty capitalists haven't you?
Pembina Corporate Consulting also provides advice and support to government, communities, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on initiatives that result in sustainable energy production and consumption.
Our unique positioning stems from a combination of technical expertise, policy analysis, a grounded understanding of environmental trends, and an understanding of different stakeholder interests. We strive to act as a bridge between a diverse set of stakeholders through identifying common solutions.
Have you told your eco-buddies that you are taking money from capitalists? That you support carbon sequestration technology? How two faced can you be, slagging Alberta oil sands in one breath, and taking money from Alberta taxpayers in the next. That is not going to sit very well with your fellow earth travelers, or has that been the plan all along? Making money.
I guess you and your team of MBA's and engineers have to make money somehow, pay off those university loans, and buy those fancy cars.
You're just going to clean up all that pollution now aren't you? Yes, you can! HA.
What a scam, look at the program they sell. It's special, and I imagine very costly.
I took that stuff in university too, maybe I should start a eco-company so I can grab some of that 3 BILLION that is going to go into carbon capture. Try going out this summer and planting a few trees, that will capture carbon, and it sure as heck won't cost 3 billion taxpayer dollars.
I am sick and tired of the eco-nuts yapping about CO2 as pollution and how we should turn off our lights for an hour. Meanwhile they are making BIG bucks off of those capitalists they supposedly hate by selling them garbage that a first year organizational behaviour student could do as a term paper.
Why do corporations give in to these supposed environmentalists? Because it's a small price to pay to appear like they are doing something for the environment. Meanwhile our health care system is falling down around us. That 3 billion could go a long way to helping people who are really sick, and eco-nut does not qualify!
This ruling by an Ontario judge needs to be taken out into the light. You can be tracked down and sued, even if you are an anonymous commenter on a site! Funny what got me looking into this was an incident today when a faux commenter took over the name of a very frequent poster on this site. They were able to do this by registering their name as Wilson, with a capital W, as opposed to the real poster, wilson. This led to some confusion at first but the fake poster was quickly exposed.
What if I can monitor IP addresses of my posters and someone posts something offensive to someone reading the comments? The ruling this judge just brought down says that I must reveal the information and IP address I have for the poster, during discovery. In other words, if I understand it correctly, before any evidence has been presented that the posting was in fact offensive. This is not the HRC's that have made this ruling, it is a real judge in a real court case. Check out the details here.
An Ontario court has ordered the owners of the FreeDominion.ca to disclose all personal information on eight anonymous posters to the chat site. The required information includes email and IP addresses. The case arises from a lawsuit launched by Richard Warman, the anti-hate fighter, against the site and the posters. The court focused heavily on the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure, which contain a strong duty of disclosure on litigants.
.....
According to the defendants in the case, they are unsure if they have the resources to appeal. This particular decision feels like a judge anxious to order to disclosure, despite the weight of authority that provides some measure of privacy protection for anonymous posters. Indeed, the public policy issue is characterized as "we are dealing with an anti-hate speech advocate and Defendants whose website is so controversial that it is blocked to employees of the Ontario Public Service." Leaving aside the fact that sites blocked to employees of the Ontario Public Service is not much of a threshold (Facebook is blocked to the OPS), the public policy issue is not the merits of the particular website. Rather, it is the privacy and free speech rights of the posters to that site.
This should concern all bloggers and posters of all political stripes. You can post something on-line, and according to this ruling, the site you posted it on will be forced by law to give out your IP address. It also sounds like a site being hosted in the US will not protect you.
Now, I do have a site meter that records the last 100 IP addresses of everyone who accesses this site, but I do not keep those addresses and they are not the full IP address, so I couldn't track anyone down even if I wanted to. I would imagine that blogger.com does keep some sort of record, I'm not sure about it though. Maybe someone more computer savvy would know.
The point. No blogger or poster to a blog site is safe from an individual who's feelings have been hurt by someone who reads your comments. If that doesn't scare you, I bet you were busy listening to banned foreigner Galloway and screaming about his right to free speech, forgetting that here, in our own country, those freedoms are being taken away by HRC's and now judges!
This is an individual that didn't like comments made about him on a conservative website, and he has now taken the owners of the site to court. That is not enough for him though, he is going after anonymous posters who posted comments about him as well. The judge has ruled that those anonymous posters have no right to privacy, even though no ruling against them has yet been made by that judge. It appears that the HRC's have crept into the real courts and influenced real judges.
Don't think it couldn't happen to you because you are anonymous. It appears you have NO right to be anonymous anymore!
It starts small, with whispers, rumours and hushed talking. It is started by those who have a purpose and a goal that they know people will not like, and they slowly, create a worm of doubt, a hint of a problem, a smell of something not right in the air.
They are the conspirators.
They start small, then they get bolder, thinking that we must agree, because we have not protested (a decidedly lefty thing). They are sneaky and underhanded, pretending to be something that they are not, they are the weaklings hoping to rise to power.
They are the conspirators.
Who might they be? You might be thinking it's the lefties, but for once, they are not the problem, those within are the ones I am talking about. Remember it starts small, with a whisper...
One day, Prime Minister Stephen Harper will step down as leader of the Conservative party. And when that day comes, it will be a dark time for the Conservatives.
Let's face it; the Conservative party is not exactly one big happy family. Rather, it's a fragile grouping of two hostile political tribes which in the name of electoral convenience have managed to forge a successful yet uneasy alliance.
This is the way of the conspirators, create division hoping to gain from the very fact that you are the one creating that division. Attack the party that you supposedly support, while fracturing a fragile alliance with your weasel words. Give ammunition to your enemies as long as it elevates your position in your own eyes.
Three times in recent weeks, for no apparent reason, we have been pleasantly entertained by senior Conservatives who, one suspects, would otherwise wish us no ill that wasn't slow, painful and terminal.
This suggests that either spring delirium has come early to the nation's capital, or Stephen Harper's party of the bound and gagged is starting to break loose for reasons worth risking the boss's wrath.
Ammunition that allows reporters to pretend that they are only reporting what they have heard from "annoy-mouse" sources. These senior "conservatives" are being laughed at and used for the PLEASURE of the MSM. They allow the media to make real Conservatives look like fools, because it is coming from conservatives.
Speculation on Harper's demise should come as no surprise.
Last fall's federal election was his third kick at the electoral can that failed to produce a majority Conservative government.
Who are these senior conservatives? We are not told. We just get the old "senior conservative" whisper. We can not question them on their conservative credentials, because we do not know who they might be. Are they just entrepreneurs trying to sell their book? Or are they individuals that have an axe to grind, and do it by stealth, withholding their names from publication? Are they David Orchards, Keith Martins, Scott Brisons or Belinda Stronach type conservatives of convenience? We do not know.
Who are these conspirators?
Why do they constantly attack their own party, and not the Liberals who appointed a foreigner by intimidation?
Current polls show the Conservatives leading the Liberals by only a small margin nationally, while the popularity of Harper and his party in seat-rich Quebec have gone into the toilet.
Vote rich Quebec?? HA, that's funny! 75 seats, of which 35 to 40 are guaranteed separatist Bloq seats, that leaves maybe 40 open seats of which the Conservatives have 10. Is the Liberal Party of Toronto hoping to pick up 75 seats in Quebec? Remember Alberta/BC/Ont are due for some new seats.
That leaves only one obvious Conservative campaign spoiler from Quebec -- the current Liberal premier and former federal PC party leader, Jean Charest.
Sources close to Charest say he is not giving any thought to anything but running his province "for now," in part because his government is getting killed in the polls by the separatist Parti Quebecois.
But all that could change in a year.
Still only 50, Charest is into a record third term as premier, and likely wouldn't risk going for a fourth.
Charest versus Iggy for the keys to 24 Sussex -- now that would be a fun election.
DREAM on Weston, that will never happen, if it does you might be surprised how FUN the after election results just might be. Do you really take Canadians for idiots?
The conspirators...
...making up stuff about real Conservatives without really understanding what a Conservative is. I might be a fiscal and social Conservative (so I have been told), but that does not mean that I expect all my desires to be fulfilled by my party.
I am sick and tired of the SELF promoters with an agenda making trouble in my party. PM Harper is working with a minority government and all the sad little insecure people would rather slag him then support him and our party.
The conspirators....little people with little goals that do nothing to build the Conservative party. I have more respect for the Stronachs of politics then I do for these anony-mouse conspirators, at least the Stronach types crossed the floor, maybe these pretenders should as well. If you can not support PM Harper and the party, fine. Do not expect me to support you tearing down a party that I and many others have worked so hard to build. Get over yourselves. You are with us or against us, and slinking around pretending to be a conservative is demeaning to you and the party you pretend to support!
Well another earth hour has come and gone, all was typical on my street, except for the one NDP family sitting in the dark. Funny how they have three vehicles and a bob cat for snow removal, but think one dark hour forgives all excesses.
We are supposed to feel guilty for living a comfortable modern life. As a collector of antiques, I enjoy the old way, but do not want to return to it any time soon. From what we are hearing, our days are numbered because we are not respecting Mother Earth. Here is an example:
Toward the end of the period for these upheavals to take place, the earth will shift its poles causing the Polar caps of the Arctic and Antarctica to begin melting. When this occurs there will be major rising of the ocean levels that some estimate to be several hundred feet. A large part of coastal land masses world wide will be flooded and there will be an exodus of people to higher ground. The melting won't occur overnight, however, your beachside condo will become worthless overnight. Some of those areas that enjoy the bliss of tropical weather will find themselves living in the new Arctic polar regions, and those living in colder regions will need to buy beach chairs and sun tan oil.
One of the signs of the entry into this period, is the movement in land masses in the Pacific Ocean area, simultaneously with similar activity in the Mediterranean Sea and Mt. Etna in Sicily. This will mark the beginning of the earth changes on a grand scale.
California and the Baja Peninsula will disappear during a series of intense earthquakes. San Francisco, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara will be only a few of notable cities that will not exist afterwards. The Pacific Ocean will cover the western part of the US up to Arizona and Nebraska. Both will have ocean harbors towns.
Typical environmental chatter, right? HA! It sure sounds like it to me, but it's even more scary when you consider the source of those predictions, and it might sound like Al Gore, but it's not. This guy isn't even an environmentalist, but I think environmentalists have been reading up on him. No, he is not Nostradamus, but they are like minded, and they do not contradict each other.
The dark hour, is a good precursor to what will come. Do not assume that the eco-nuts will be happy with just one hour for long, they will demand more, and more, and more, as the unsatisfied can never be fulfilled. The dissatisfied always need a cause to rally around because they have no ability to create anything or to help themselves. They do not want to help themselves, they want the government to rescue them from themselves.
So, who was the person talking about ocean levels rising as much as 100 feet? Watch this:
Edgar Cayce, "The Sleeping Prophet", is no less an expert then Al Gore, he just has a much more successful prediction rate, his is over 95%, Al Gore's, not so much. Now, I am not saying I believe this guy anymore than I believe Suzuki, but if we are to believe what Suzuki says, why not this guy? He was 99% accurate in his predictions, he has a whole library of his readings, and he predicted what is happening today way back in the 1940's, not today like Gore.
If we are to believe the greenies about global warming without any evidence that it is happening, why not this guy?
The dark hour is nothing more than an opportunity for the eco-nuts to feel like they have some power.
Hug and Hold: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vacationing Near Transylvania
Bob Hill and his new wife Betty were vacationing in Europe, as it happens, near Transylvania. They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree.
Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious... With her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance. Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks. A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door. Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?"
"I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "but we don't have a phone. My master is a doctor; come in and I will get him!" Bob brings his wife in.
An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor; I am a scientist.. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had a basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."
With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table.
After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill are no more.
The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house.
Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music.. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight!
Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory.
He bursts in and shouts to his master:
"Master, Master! ..... The Hills are alive with the sound of music!"
(I am soooooo sorry...... But you really should've seen that coming) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bear Hunting in Alaska
The Pope took a couple of days off to visit the rugged mountains of Alaska for some sightseeing. He was cruising around the campgrounds in the Pope Mobile when there was a frantic commotion just at the edge of the woods.
A helpless Democrat, wearing sandals, shorts, a 'Vote for Obama' hat and a 'Save the Trees' t-shirt, was screaming while struggling frantically and thrashing around trying to free himself from the grasp of a 10-foot grizzly.
As the Pope watched in horror, a group of Republican loggers with 'Go Sarah' t-Shirts came racing up. One quickly fired a 44 magnum into the bear's chest. The other two reached up and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious Democrat from the bear's grasp. Then using long clubs, the three loggers finished off the bear and two of them threw it onto the bed of their truck while the other tenderly placed the injured Democrat in the back seat.
As they prepared to leave, the Pope summoned them to come over. "I give you my blessing for your brave actions," he told them."I've heard there was a bitter hatred between Republican loggers and Democratic environmental activists, but now I've seen with my own eyes that this is not true."
As the Pope drove off, one logger asked his buddies, "Who was that guy?"
"It was the Pope," another replied. 'He's in direct contact with Heaven and has access to all wisdom.'
"Well," the logger said, "he may have access to all wisdom, but he doesn't know squat about bear hunting! By the way, is the bait still alive, or do we need to go back to Massachusetts and get another one?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Red neck with a DUI conviction: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHERE DID THE WHITE MAN GO WRONG? TOUGH TO ARGUE WITH THIS ONE . .
Indian Chief 'Two Eagles' was asked by a white US. government official, 'You have observed the white man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances. You've seen his progress, and the damage he's done.' The Chief nodded in agreement. The official continued, 'Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?'
The Chief stared at the government official for over a minute and then calmly replied: 'When white man find land, Indians running it, no taxes, no debt, plenty buffalo, plenty beaver, clean water. Women did all the work, Medicine man free. Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing; all night having sex.'
Then the chief leaned back and smiled 'Only white man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ITALIAN VIRGIN
Maria had just married and being a traditional Italian, she was still a virgin.
On her wedding night, staying at her mother's house, she was very nervous.
Her mother reassured her;" Don't worry, Maria, Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take care of you. Meanwhile, I'll be making pasta."
So, up she went. When she got upstairs, Tony took off his shirt and exposed his hairy chest.
Maria ran downstairs to her mother and says, "Mama, Mama,Tony's got a big hairy chest." "Don't worry, Maria," says the mother, "all good men have hairy chests. Go upstairs. He'll take good care of you."
So, up she went again. When she got up in the bedroom, Tony took off his pants, exposing his hairy legs. Again, Maria ran downstairs to her mother. "Mama, Mama, Tony took off his pants and he's got hairy legs!" "Don't worry! All good men have hairy legs. Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take good care of you."
So, up she went again. When she got there, Tony took off his socks and on his left foot he was missing three toes. When Maria saw this, she ran downstairs.
"Mama, Mama, Tony's got a foot and a half!" Her Mama said, "Stay here and stir the pasta." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beware of the tan lines!

A final peaceful photo. Look closely, and take a deep breath, it will do your heart good!
Jayce Sale said they are concerned about the impact of heavier regulations.
"It gets into a slippery slope because medical marijuana users have that right to use it, and so by creating more barriers around where they can do it is a concern because it's limiting options for them," she said.
This is really too funny, the lefties have been banning smokers from every bar, restaurant and public place they can think of for years. Lately they have even banned smoking in your own car if kids are present. Fine. They won the fight and smokers are the dregs of society, we get it.
In the meantime, they want free needles for druggies, safe sites to shoot up illegal drugs and NOW they talk about the slippery slope? Don't dare smoke a legal substance in a bar, but hold it....marijuana smokers are well...different, and they should have different rules, maybe even their own dope smoking bars! Are they that stupid that they do not understand that you can not target only one group without having it eventually impact their little special interest groups?
Ban smoking from cars, next logical step is ban cell phones from cars, but they don't see that. They love telling us how progressive they are while they limit our rights to legal items, like cigarettes and guns. But marijuana users have the RIGHT to use it and restrictions would be imposing on their human rights. Too funny!
The problem is that they can't even see their own hypocrisy.
Kevin Page is not doing himself any favours by making outrageous predictions. The guy is out on Mars pretending to be one of those rovers, collecting data. The problem is that his data is liberally skewed to promote the opposition scare tactics, or the reporter may have misheard what the guy said. Personally, I'm going with the guy on Mars option.
Mr. Page told the House of Commons finance committee that, based on private-sector forecasts and his own assessments, he expected GDP to contract by about 8.5% in the first quarter of 2009 and by 3.5% in the second quarter.
In the budget, the government cited private-sector forecasters as saying GDP would shrink by 0.8% in 2009 as a whole.
"We provided a different, more detailed outlook for the first half of this year because we think that what we're seeing now is actually historic, in terms of quarter to quarter declines," Mr. Page told the committee.
OTTAWA -- Canada's economic performance in the fourth quarter of 2008 was actually much worse than suggested by a 3.4% decline in gross domestic product, the parliamentary budget officer said Wednesday.
We can see the breakdown of 2008 into quarters by Stats Canada:
He said our GDP decreased by 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2008, Statistics Canada says it decreased by .8%, he is nitpicking the worst number and ignoring the less scary data. When you look at the data, our GDP increased by .5% in 2008. The guy is counting on Canadians being stupid. He wants more money for his department, I suggest this is not the way to get it.
What is this guy smoking, even in 2008 the GDP was positive, yet the guy is telling us that GDP WILL decline by 8.5% in the first quarter of 2009??? If he was from BC, I would think that he was smoking some of that BC Bud. Then he goes on to predict/scare us by saying it will further decline by 3.5% in the next quarter? That means from January to June of this year, our GDP will decline by 12%. Holy space cadet, the guy should be fired for shear stupidity.
Got You! It's the game politicians play with voters. If you do not get a project in your region, it's a got you! If you get a project in your area, it's a gimme!
We got one of those gimmie projects in Edmonton Kingsway, former home of Annie, get our guns the creator of the gun registry. There was no reason to build a military office beside the airport, but they did. Now we have a dozen people rattling around in a huge building doing nothing. But it is in former Deputy Prime Minister Anne's riding so it must have been a great contribution to our military. NOT! It is the biggest waste of money I have ever seen. Maybe at night they train cadets to be soldiers, other than that, I see no reason for it, except for Liberal votes. That day is dead, but a useless federal building lives on in her former riding. What a waste!
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You. This is the opposition trying to pretend that they are OUTRAGED that people need to wait two weeks to qualify for EI, forgetting that the Conservatives have extended the benefits by 5 weeks. The Liberals also conveniently forget that they removed and spent 54 BILLION in the EI fund. This makes the Conservative spending over the next 2 years seem like small potatoes.
Gimie, Gimmie, Got You... Quebec, the whole province is on a teat sucking mission, and they are so arrogant they think they deserve more funds from the ROC. Grow up or separate. Think of what 8 billion in health care could do if we didn't have to pay it to Quebec. No matter how much previous governments did for Quebec, they still wanted more, like Oliver Twist. They are Robin Hood stealing from the ROC thinking they somehow deserve it because they speak French, which makes them "special".
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You...Special interest groups who think the government has to save their inefficient butts because they printed a paper 8 years ago about the mating habits of single women in the urban jungle.
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got You.... Environmentalists who run around yelling the sky is falling, and refuse to tell the truth. The world is presently cooling not warming. They don't dare tell the average citizen that little fact because it would mean that they get no more funding. They are arrogant little fools who think they know better than everyone else about how to save our planet, yet they fly in carbon spewing planes to tell us that deniers should be jailed.
Gimmie, Gimmie, Got you...lefties have ideas, but no talent for implementing them. They are the ultimate losers. They are good at preaching to us, not so great in making us believe in their new green program.
Canadians have three options when voting, Conservatives, Socialists and Separatists. This must be clearly defined by the Conservatives next election. Iffy can try to make Liberals appear like conservatives, but only fools will be fooled. Think about his cabinet if they win. Wayne Easter? Hang 'Im High Murphy? Ralphie Goods for Sale? Rae Bare Bottom? Hedy Burning Crosses? Give me a break, a sows ear is still a sows ear no matter how you try to sell it.
The opposition in action. Bloc MP's are worthless. They have no power and will never have power, but they suck on the Canadian teat while crying about separation. Yet it will be Canadian taxpayers that pay their pensions. If Quebec MP's are so intent on separating, let them forsake their pensions. Let's see how many stand by their separation principles without a Canada pension to fall back on.
Question period is a joke. The opposition is a joke. Remember, we have three options. Choose wisely!
I have read of the recent surge in the sales of "Atlas Shrugged", so I wonder where in North America would the entrepreneurs have the best chance of shrugging off the liberal shackles? Think about it. California? Ontario? Quebec? Where would you escape? Where do you want to raise your children to give them the best chance to excel? Where in North America would John Galt choose to relocate, and take all the talent with him?
TORONTO -- Organizers of the four-city speaking tour of British anti-war MP George Galloway are going to challenge the decision to bar him from Canada in court.
The organizers also say if that fails, they've already prepared plan B.
Organizers are to announce Monday they will file an emergency injunction in Ontario federal court on Tuesday seeking to overturn Citizenship and Immigration Canada's entry ban on the outspoken politician.
Should that fail, a delegation of Canadian MPs, lawyers and activists is assembling to escort Galloway from the U.S., where he is on tour, across the Canadian border.
Do you see yourself marching in support of a terrorist sympathizer? Right, me neither. It will be interesting to see which MP's attend. Then we have these guys:
The Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation recommend in a joint statement that Canadian policing and security agencies record such characteristics as race, age and gender after they make such decisions as sending someone to a secondary search or pulling someone out of a line at a border crossing.
So, we have terrorist supporters good, profiling bad. Don't want any terrorist to get their feelings hurt now do we? Let's not forget the MP going to a gun club meeting, this is a very very bad thing, not like MP's supporting terrorists, that is a good thing!
Quit pap-spouting over shooting club's plan to raffle off a handgun and address the real issue
The fact opposition politicians and Toronto's left-leaning mayor, David Miller, along with the normally sensible Mayor Hazel McCallion of Mississauga, were given a golden opportunity to deflect public attention away from the very real problem of violent, urban, gun crime, and the failure of all levels of government to address it, was, for them, a huge bonus.
Even better, by their lights, they got to attack both Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz, the latter probably the most knowledgable politician in Canada about the utter failure of the federal long gun and handgun registries to effectively combat violent, urban, street crime.
Those are just a few examples of how out of control the lefties have become. So, where can a person go to escape? Think Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and large areas of BC. Think rural Ontario, but unfortunately Ontario is where most of the protesters are, so even though most people living in Ontario are conservative minded, they get tarred with the lefty brush. Notice that cities are more prone to spawn lefties as are universities, they yell about "freedom of speech" but it means only freedom to speak if you agree with their point of view.
We call Alberta "God's Country", maybe it should be renamed to "Galt Country"! Many people will be looking to find a place to go to that is not just mouthing freedom, but lives it, and that is western Canada. It should not be "Who is John Galt", it should be "Where is John Galt".
PM Harper is really getting into the swing of being our Prime Minister. He is showing his sense of humour, and he is quite funny. See for yourself.
PM Harper is a warm, compassionate Canadian, who cares about our families, and as a bonus, he can be funny. The opposition have been reduced to blasting him on his looks not his policy. They think Christians can't believe in evolution because lefties are too myopic to see both sides of any issue. They think it's a bad thing to go to a meeting of hunters and anglers, because those guys have guns, and we all know that guns are the problem, not criminals.
Lefties are shallow. They are followers, not leaders. I want you to watch this very painful video because it shows better than I ever could, your typical lefty thinker. I saw it years ago, but it stuck with me. Every time I drive through the area in Edmonton that elected an NDP MP, this is what comes to mind.
The video is painful to watch because this guy really believes he knows what he is talking about, and doesn't realize how he appears to other people. That is as polite as I can be in describing the video. You decide, is he the typical NDP supporter?
PS: Is he or isn't he???
Compare the two photos and you decide. Personally I don't care, but the opposition has no policies so they are sure to pick up on this shortly.
Su Wong marries Lee Wong. The next year, the Wongs have a new baby. The nurse brings over a lovely, healthy, bouncy, but definitely a Caucasian, WHITE baby boy.

They are all TRUE ... Now go back and think about #16!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pink Bikini at Spring Break! College kids having fun at the beach.
Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a venison steak. But, all of Bubba's neighbors were Catholic....And since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on Friday.
The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their priest.
The Priest came to visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic.
After several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass...and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, ''You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic."
Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the wonderful aroma of grilled venison filled the neighborhood.
The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors, and, as he rushed into Bubba's yard, clutching a rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.
There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted:

I might be the first person to spot it, and if what I suspect is true, the Liberals will run with this for years. Forget about the gun raffle, forget about the evolution fight, this is WAY bigger than that, it just might be the Liberals key to power! HA!
Watch the video and see if you can spot what I'm talking about.
I'm not talking about the PM's grasp of the economy, that is solid. He is right on track to help Canadians who need it. The Americans seem to understand how smart he is, too bad our own media will not give him any respect. It just shows how uninformed our media is about the economy. They think Obama should be running Canada. Heaven help us if that ever happened!
Did you see it? It was clear if you compare the two interviews. I will let you guess for awhile, see who catches it first. I would hate to just give the lefties this ammunition without making them work for it.
If the Liberals can yap about PM Harper's looks, let me descend to their level. Jane Taber, those bags under your eyes are dragging your whole face down. Wow, I guess she was out partying last night! She looks like sh*t! Her interviewing abilities aren't any better.
She thinks Dodge having a different opinion from the Prime Minister is SHOCKING! Economists have been as accurate as global warming eco-nuts lately. They use modeling like the greenies, so you can all understand why no one is listening to them anymore. Dodge and Drummond are Liberal lackeys, and not to be taken seriously.
I'm thinking of closing my accounts with TD because Drummond is such an idiot that my money might be better deposited in a company that isn't politically motivated. I do not need my bankers to be telling me our economy is in the dumpster right now. It does not inspire confidence in that bank. Really, if the chief economist at the TD Canada Trust Bank thinks that Dodge is right and our economy is going to continue to tank, I'm taking my money out of that bank and putting it somewhere safe. Maybe Drummond should put his company first and forget about his secret Liberal agenda.
Funny that I could not get the video of PM Harper to play, I tried it at least 15 times, and it just would not load. This has happened before on CTV, a positive video of the PM will not load. What's with the picture of PM Harper looking defeated? Bias? Thy name is Jane Taber! So here's a picture of Jane looking really hung over. Not your best face Jane, or is that your real face!
Fair game, Liberals want to tick off 38% of the country, just remember that Conservatives have long memories (NEP) and do not take well to being herded!
We have had lots of protests lately, Bush in Calgary, Police in Montreal, Tamils in Toronto, Seals in Halifax, the list is endless. Where do all those people come from in the middle of the week to protest about something? Well, if they have all that time, they should check out the upcoming protest list:
U Tax Me 2 Much, Everywhere My dog needs food, Dogpound Ducks need homes too, Fort McMurray Save the trees and animals, Wood Buffalo Save Hockey, Leaf Rapids Global warming, Snow Lake My language, my choice, French River Crows are homeless too, Crowsnest Pass Weather is dangerous, Thunder Bay Save the moose, they have knees, Moosonee Bridges are dangerous to the environment, Bracebridge Ban golf in winter, Shawinigan Asthma needs support, Gaspe Creationism battle, Churchill Stop the water, it’s dangerous, Iroquois Falls Abortion is good, Conception Falls Nudists are people too, Gander Talking is bad, Yarmouth CO2 Up, Waterdown Save the leprechauns, Biggar Save water, Yellow Grass Ban Hunting, Red Deer Criminals are people too, Killim
If you know of any other important protests scheduled anywhere in Canada, please post the information in comments!
Do lefties who have nothing better to do than protest? It's getting like global warming, ignore facts that do not support your position, and make it up to scare people into thinking like you do, right or wrong.
So many mixed messages, such looney times. I can't keep up with all the protests for Tamil terrorists, and against ex-Preidents, and let's not even mention global warming! Still the lefties are doing what they know best....nothing but protest. Has Gore ever actually planted a tree? Why did an anti-police brutality protest turn violent? Should pre-kindergarten kids be used in a protest? Do any of these people work?
Let's compare and contrast some of the news these days.
First up here in Canada, the lefties are gearing up to protest against GW Bush. What did he do? Sent his troops into combat because of 9/11, but hey, don't let over 3000 innocent people killed by terrorists stop you lefties, Bush....he's the problem.
A group of lawyers had previously written to Canadian officials including Prime Minister Stephen Harper asking that Mr. Bush be barred from visiting Canada in light of crimes allegedly committed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay.
Lawyers Against The War allege that Mr. Bush “is a person credibly accused of torture and other gross human rights violations, crimes against humanity and war crimes” and ask for permission to prosecute him.
Torture they scream! Crimes against humanity! War Crimes! Yes I agree, but it's not GW Bush that's the problem.
Up to ten gunmen wearing suicide bomb vests and armed with assault rifles stormed two heavily-guarded government buildings; an attack on a third site was thwarted after police shot dead a lone militant.
A Taliban spokesman said the attacks - which bore similarities to the recent militant assault on the Indian city of Mumbai - were carried out in protest at the treatment of Taliban prisoners.
Because of the treatment of Taliban prisoners they killed 20 people? Let's see that torture....
The International Committee of the Red Cross concluded in a secret report that the Bush administration's treatment of Al Qaeda captives in CIA prisons "constituted torture," The Washington Post reported on Monday.....
One incident is described by Abu Zubaydah, a Palestinian man who ran Al Qaeda recruitment. Zubaydah said in the weeks after he was captured, he was shackled naked while listening to consistent music or static. He also says he had limited nourishment and was not allowed to sleep.
What! No beheading? No acid in the face? No hanging? He didn't get to eat and sleep when he wanted to, such torture! Well let's just release that poor innocent guy and let him become a model citizen, like this one:
U.S. authorities handed over the detainee to the Afghan government, which in turn released him, according to Pentagon and CIA officials.
Abdullah Ghulam Rasoul, formerly Guantanamo prisoner No. 008, was among 13 Afghan prisoners released to the Afghan government in December 2007. Rasoul is now known as Mullah Abdullah Zakir, a nom de guerre that Pentagon and intelligence officials say is used by a Taliban leader who is in charge of operations against U.S. and Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan.
Southern Afghanistan, isn't that where our Canadian troops are? Nice, maybe Khadr can join this guy soon, and our troops can return them to their families.
Oh, and the mysteriously leaked Red Cross document on torture? I have to ask, who is monitoring the Red Cross? Look at their history, by their own definition of torture, they are also guilty of it.
For example, during the Great 1927 Flood that destroyed large parts of the Mississippi Delta and Louisiana, Black farm laborers and sharecroppers without a doubt suffered the most. As John Barry documents in his epic history of the flood, Rising Tide, delta plantation owners refused to evacuate them out of the region for fear--rightly--that most wouldn't return to their miserable, slave-like conditions.
The Red Cross came in to provide temporary housing and food aid. What African Americans of the Delta got was prison-like camps where they were routinely beaten by white, racist National Guardsmen. Food distributed by the Red Cross was given to whites first, and if anything was left, it went to Black survivors.
In recent years, the image of the Red Cross has been tarnished. The worst scandal came after the September 11 attacks, when it was revealed that a large portion of the hundreds of millions of dollars donated to the organization went not to survivors or family members of those killed, but to other Red Cross operations, in what was described by chapters across the country as a "bait-and-switch" operation.
Can lefties get anymore ridiculous? Protests of naked people rolling in fake blood to save some seals? That is lefty reality. The dying media has been trumpeting these people, maybe that's why the industry is dying. You think?
We hear "my body, my choice" constantly from the feminists. They yell and scream that we can not take choice away from women because it is their right to decide what they do with their body. Soon, parents in Alberta can take up this cry: My Kids, My Choice! How can the lefties argue against us, they would have to argue against their own arguments.
Power to the parents. Changes to Alberta human rights law will likely include more than just protecting free speech.
Parental rights are also said to be a part of the makeover.......
It would entrench the rights of parents to decide what their children will and will not be taught in school.
Though there is some coverage of this issue under existing rules governing schools, the decision of parents would now be recognized as a fundamental human right.
Parents would be given the opportunity to opt their kids out of instruction surrounding human sexuality, sexual orientation and other lessons counter to a family's religious convictions.
Details obviously still need to be worked out as to how all this would work.
I wonder how the teachers union is going to like this little development. Personally, because my kids are in the Catholic school system, I am comfortable with what they teach. Tolerance is part of the curriculum, but it's not reduced to being tolerant of just one group such as gays. Religion is also a component of their education, and prayers are allowed, they even have Priests come in for special celebrations. I know many families that are not Catholic who send their children to Catholic schools because of the quality of education.
I would not want for my children to be forced to remain in a class that is teaching something contrary to my beliefs, such as abortion as an option for birth control. I have explained abortion to my boys, and you can bet that the words "my body, my choice" did not enter into the discussion. Taking responsibility for your actions and understanding the consequences of those actions was high on the discussion list. I want the choice to be mine when it comes to what my kids are learning over and above the 3 R's. So I applaud Minister Blackett for bringing this issue back into the control of parents. "My kids, my choice". This is going to drive the lefties crazy, especially because it sounds like Blackett is no pushover.
"When we ran as a party in the last election we ran on family values, we ran on families and communities. That's what the premier led the last election on," says Blackett.
"As a government we talk about safe communities and all the members who make up that. At the core, has to be parents in the household."
............"Alberta is the most tolerant province in the country but we still get this redneck label," says the minister, who is also responsible for the province's cultural policy.
"In fact we're more open to things. We don't want them thrown in our face necessarily but we're open. We're tolerant. Just because we don't have a gay pride parade with 50,000 people in it, does that make us less tolerant? No. Absolutely not."
Blackett also repeats his commitment to free speech while opposing those who stir up hateful acts.
"If you have an opinion you have the right to have your opinion and somebody has the right to have the contrary opinion and they both have the right to be heard. And, you know, sometimes you just have to suck it up and have a little bit more faith in the tolerant Albertans we are.
"We want to move past the hurt-feeling stage. But we want to emphasize that those people who deliberately incite hatred, they're not going to be tolerated. If you're going to do that, you should be punished to the full extent of the law.
"There's no reason we should tolerate a swastika on a synagogue. There's no reason we should tolerate a burning cross anywhere."
This human rights debate is going to push some people's buttons. But, to his credit, Blackett does not wimp out when democracy gets messy.
"I have a 10-year-old and an eight-year old kid and I don't know how long I'm going to be in politics. For the time I'm here, I will always be able to look my kids in the eye and tell them I did the best I could and I made a difference. So I've got to go at it full-bore.
"The human rights stuff has been neglected for 12 years because people were too afraid to tackle the issue. But if you take a common-sensical approach and think what it means to your family and your community and look through that lens, the decisions are real easy to make."
We'll see how easy in the coming weeks.
With a huge majority, the legislation will pass. It looks like the lefties might have just met their match with this Minister! Free speech AND parental choice? Am I dreaming? I need more information, but from the sounds of it, my support is with what this Minister and what the government is trying to accomplish. Maybe my email to the Premier had an impact!
This week was not a stellar week for righties. For some reason, some conservatives were upset with PM Harper's speech to a conservative audience, I'm not sure why. You would think that the one time PM Harper could feel like he was among friends would have been at this event. Turns out he's not even safe in a conservative crowd. Shame.
This led me to spend some time thinking about Canada's greatest asset, our military. So, Ontario, I salute you, for your support of our fallen troops. Fight us Conservatives might, but any petty disagreements pale when compared to our troops and their dedication to keeping Canada safe.
When you watch this next video, look for the hands of the families waving to the people on the bridge. If you had any doubt that the families do not notice you standing there on the bridges, that alone should make you realize how much your support means to them. I salute you, and wish I was close enough to be able to be there with you, showing my support.
When it comes right down to it, whether you are a libertarian, a fiscal conservative, social conservative or just a regular conservative, one thing we can all agree on is that our troops have earned our respect and we can stop our squabbles long enough to pause and really think about what we hope to achieve for our country.
They put their lives on the line everyday. A speech by our Prime Minister, that I have listened to, upset some libertarians, I am not sure why. I have read the blog posts, but fail to see what the fuss is about, maybe some libertarian can fill me in. Looking at the big picture, and everything that PM Harper has to put up with, don't you think you can cut the guy some slack?
I am sick and tired of some group or other wanting to pick up their ball and go home. That worked real well last provincial election in Ontario now didn't it? There is no such thing as a sometime, if I am happy, and everything I want is granted to me, Conservative. That is a liberal dressed up as a Conservative. It's easy to be a victim, but it is very very hard to be a Conservative in a lefty world.
Our troops do not care what political party sends them where, they go because they understand that someone has to keep Canada safe. We should honour them, and pray for them daily.
Squabble if you want, but think about what it really means in the grand scheme of life. Think about what it means to Canada. That is the message I got from our Prime Minister.
Richard Simmons was here in Edmonton this week, he is his own little hurricane! Watch this video and see what I mean. Too funny!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mildred, the church gossip, and self-appointed monitor of the church's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several members did not approve of her extra curricular activities, but feared her enough to maintain their silence.
She made a mistake, however, when she accused Frank, a new member, of being an alcoholic after she saw his old pickup parked in front of the town's only bar one afternoon.. .
She emphatically told Frank (and several others) that every one seeing it there WOULD KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING !
Frank, a man of few words, stared at her for a moment and just turned and walked away He didn't explain, defend, or deny He said nothing.
Later that evening, Frank quietly parked his pickup in front of Mildred's house ... walked home .. . ..and left it there all night !!!
(You gotta love Frank !) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The female knife!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Sirs, (Insert name of your bank here)
In view of what is happening in the banking industry right now, I was wondering if you could advise me:
If one of my checks is returned, and marked "insufficient funds," how do I know whether that refers to me or to you ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Iffy lost a perfect opportunity to show the compassionate side of Liberals today by totally ignoring the horrible helicopter crash off of Newfoundland. Instead his first question was about the Liberal senators passing the budget.
Thankfully we have a Prime Minister who recognizes there is a time for partisan comments and a time for compassion and prayers. He used his first answer to express his worry about the helicopter accident. I am sending my prayers to the families and hopefully the survivors of that accident.
This is a perfect example of why I respect and admire our Prime Minister. He understands that you have to care about all Canadians, not just Conservative Canadians. Very classy job Mr. Prime Minister!
The Liberals, Bloc and NDP get a big raspberry! Heartless Liberals, heartless lefties!
Members Statements are key because they get read into Hansard for everyone to read. Just as Kinsella sues a Conservative MP, another one pops up. I'm not sure what is being accomplished except negative media reporting, but if that's the Liberals strategy, who am I to complain.
PM Harper takes Layton and the NDP to task. He is right, the NDP have gone from a party that sticks to it's principles to one that tried to join with the separatists to bring down a duly elected government. Legal or not, it was just plain sleazy.
The IMF praised Canada today, but you wouldn't know it from the whining of the opposition. What I am noticing lately is that no matter how hard the MSM are trying to make Iffy look good to Canadians, no one is listening. I hope the Bloc wins all seats in Quebec, so we can finally ignore them, (my kid is taking Japanese, not French) this should give the Conservatives a majority so they can finally get rid of the gun registry and the Canadian Wheat Board.
The NDP have abandoned their principles to cater to the unions, they forget that unions can not dictate how their members vote.
I wonder who is behind the MSM. If companies and unions can not donate to political parties anymore, have they compensated by contributing to the MSM? Think about it. Power Corp can not directly donate to the Liberal party anymore, so how can they best influence Canadian voters? Are they manipulating the media?
Like that's going to happen! What planet is Quebec living on? Can you imagine him in Alberta? Right, he's as appealing to Alberta Conservatives as Iffy is. Dream on Quebec, he's no Conservative, he did everything he could to make Conservatives in Quebec lose the last election, and they think we in the west will embrace him? HA!! Too funny.
Quebec needs to realize that the Conservatives can win a majority without them. They also have to understand how much Canadians hate the idea of a separatist party that wants to break up Canada. Now that Alberta will be sending 18 Billion less to the feds, and Ontario is a have-not province, something is going to have to give, and I think it's time for Quebec to get with the program. How can they go through all of Confederation as a have not province? You would think they would be embarrassed. I have way more respect for Newfoundland then Quebec. Quebec keeps electing the useless Bloc, because they think it makes them more independent, what it does is make them powerless to influence anything.
How can Quebec have a $7 a day daycare program when no other province can afford one? Maybe the 8 billion a year over and above what they send to Canada should be cut off. Why do they have lower tuition fees for their students than other provinces? How do they afford all those extras that no other province can? Why isn't Quebec Hydro included in equalization payments?
Personally, I have nothing against Quebec, but if they think that Charest is ever going to win the next leadership election for the Conservative party of Canada, they better think again.
Prime Minister Harper is going to be around for a long time no matter how hard the MSM and Liberals try to change things. Get used to it!
Someone was yapping all through question period today...it was Minna Mouse! Just because it was International Women's Day yesterday doesn't mean you, as a Member of Parliament, are entitled to be a dolt. Your friend is no better!
Minna was accused of yelling from the beginning of question period to the end, yet she wants the Minister to apologize? Who comes to her rescue? Hedy Fry, a DOCTOR who is so wacky she thinks Conservatives are burning crosses "as we speak"! Maybe she should give Minna some of those pills she is taking!
So it turns out there has been a cross-burning in Canada in the past year. But not in Prince George. Or anywhere else in B.C. Or even by racists.
The one and only recent example of a cross-burning was in Montreal last March. By feminists. On International Women's Day. On the steps of a Catholic cathedral.
The feminists, hiding behind ski masks, set alight homemade crosses, then stormed the cathedral. They vandalized the walls and altar with spray paint proclaiming, "No God, no masters." They knocked down elderly nuns, destroyed hymnals and prayer books, smeared the walls with used sanitary napkins and strewed condoms around -- all in the name of tolerance. It seems these protesters could not bear any views on abortion or women's rights that disagreed with their own. And since the Catholic Church believes all abortion is sin and chooses not to ordain women as priests, well then, its cathedrals were fair game for a good ransacking.
It appears the feminists are still as out of touch as ever!
Well, you have to forgive me because I was busy making cinnamon buns and transplanting my petunias into bigger pots! I am a woman, I celebrate that fact every single day, not just one day a year! We females have it made. We contribute so much by being moms, wives, volunteers and career women, all wrapped up in one package! We are not victims, we are the engines of our families and communities.
What bothers me are the feminists who keep on insisting that we are victims, we are weak and dependent on men for our fulfillment, BS! Enter our favorite victim....
International Women's Day, first commemorated almost 100 years ago, is a time to celebrate a century of achievement and advancement for women in Canada.
But it also serves as an annual reminder that pride in this progress cannot make us complacent before the issues that affect women in their everyday lives.
Women with young daughters know the mixed emotions that can stem from conversations about the rights and relative status of women. So many young people today hold the belief that the battle for equality has been well and truly won.
This is encouraging because it means they themselves are encountering few obvious systemic obstacles or barriers.
Alright, I will admit right out that I never liked Belinda as either a Conservative or a Liberal, so I might be biased in thinking this is such a fluff piece that REAL women should be embarrassed. I always thought she was in politics because her father wanted her in there, and that the power brokers misread the political climate. They thought that the Liberals would win in 2006, therefore the floor crossing. Comments in () are mine.
First, we need to understand that the price of our century of achievement is the need for vigilance. (This does not make sense, the price of success? If you have succeeded, the price is zero.) The recent decision of the federal government to weaken provisions relating to pay equity for Canada's federal public servants demonstrates how tenuous some of our victories may be. If we are silent on this issue, it will become easier for governments to ignore the voices of women. (True Liberal blather, says nothing but sounds good. Pay equity already is the law. Equal pay for equal work is the law. Equal pay for a secretary versus a firefighter, is not and can not ever be law. What a can of worms that would be! I am a woman and therefore I deserve to be paid the same as a doctor even though I didn't bother to go to school and get my degree, but hey, a burger flipper deserves the same pay as a doctor don't you know?)
Second, we need to encourage policies and build institutions that help to empower the equal treatment of women. Among other things, that means stepping up the pressure on governments to make a priority of implementing quality and affordable child care right across our country. (Daycare does NOT empower women, it makes us weaker, ask any Mom if they WANT to put their children in daycare!) It is distressing that at a time of massive government spending in the name of stimulus, there has been little public pressure on Ottawa to fund a system of child care and early learning, an investment that would create jobs in the short-term but would pay off again down the road in the form of better educated children and more successful women in the workforce.
As I was reading this article, I actually felt sorry of Belinda, if she and other feminists actually think that daycare empowers women, they are so wrong. It takes away from a woman's ability to be there to raise their own children instead of some stranger who might not have the same values as they do. The best solution for moms/dads is to be able to stay home with their babies, if that is not possible then family and friends/neighbours should be the next alternative, daycare should be the last resort, not the first. I wonder if Belinda put her kids in a daycare?
What is most astounding are the comments, remember this is the Toronto Star, the posters are not buying the "poor me" garbage, pay attention to the agree/disagree numbers.
Ms. Stronach!
It would be GREAT to see you back in the House of Commons as a member! Please!!!

Woman's Work
Wage parity will be achieved when women accept good paying jobs like: road asphalt layer, roof tar applicator, high steel construction, sewer repair, fork lift operate, dump truck driver, iron ore miner, hydro transition tower repair, water and sewer repair, carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, concrete formers. All pay women the same as men. Go for it. Or are they just too hard and dirty to contemplate?

Oh Man
Speaking as a man Pay equity is just the government trying to meddle in the market place. If a woman wants to be a fire"person" they get paid the same as a man. If a man wants to be an office assistant they get paid the same as a woman. Trying to say that a certain job has the same value as another job therefore the pay should be the same is stupid. It is trying to artificially increase or decrease the value of the job by some set of rules made up by some Star Chamber the market should decide what a job is worth. As for politics like always the "Belinda" never sees the forest through the trees. Guess what; I looked at the make up of the council and school boards in my city and women far out number men. Just because women don't want! to go to the show does not mean they are not involved in politics. Local politics effects peoples lives far more than provincial and federal and at least in my city it is dominated by women.

Seems like during INTERNATIONAL Women's Day, Belinda might have mentioned the women of Afghanistan who are truly fighting for their independence and equality. Feminists are too selfish to actually fight for women who need help.
