Polls, Polls, Polls!

I love watching the polls, there is lots of fun stuff to look at and analyze. First a comment left at CTV:

BCGirl
I've asked around and every woman I have spoken to agrees: Ignatief creeps us out.
Maybe we need to take a close look at this guys past, there's got to be a reason for this.

I actually think that she is on to something. Looking at the latest Nanos poll, it appears that not only is support from women strong for PM Harper, but a surprising support from young people is starting to show up as well.

Conservative 38% +6
Liberal 33% -1
NDP 15% -4
BQ 10% +1
Green 5% -2

Funny how this CTV interview only mentions the Conservatives are "slightly" ahead of the Liberals.

Another Nanos poll on leadership has PM Harper at 99 and Iggy at 54 with Layton closing in on Iggy at 40.

On the question of most trustworthy leader:

............Iggy .....Harper
Males 15.2 .....35.1
Female 12.9 .....27.6
18 to 29 7.1 .....25.4
30 to 39 11.1 .....26.7

Those are startling numbers. Is it because Iggy is older that his support is down with both females and younger people? His numbers are no better with the older generation. It appears that Canadians of all age groups and genders are supporting PM Harper. Must suck to be Iggy right now. Even my husband, who refuses to talk politics with me, mentioned tonight that Iggy is an old guy who should go back to the US.

Also Ipsos released a new poll as well:

The Conservatives have the support of 39 per cent of decided voters, according to the Ipsos Reid survey, commissioned by Canwest News Service and Global National. The Tory support level is unchanged from the last Ipsos national poll on Aug. 21.

The Liberals have 30 per cent support, up two percentage points from Aug. 21. The NDP dropped two points to 12 per cent, while the Green party fell two points to eight per cent. The NDP received 18 per cent support in the last federal election in October 2008, but have fallen to 12 per cent in four separate Ipsos polls since then.

Who will you vote for if an election is called?
Conservatives 57%
Liberals 21%
NDP 8%
Bloc Québécois 1%
Not Sure 13%
29588 responses, not scientifically valid, results updated every minute.

What does this all mean? NO ELECTION anytime soon.

In Praise Of Michaelle Jean!

I never thought I would say this, because I was so sure Michaelle was a bad choice as Governor General, but I like this lady a lot!

I was worried because her husband had connections to the separatists, but she is a smart lady, and has represented Canada with honour.

I especially liked her respect for our northern friends, and her support for the seal hunt. I can't believe she wasn't queasy just seeing a dead animal, but to eat a small piece of the heart, was very brave.

Then we have her dancing:

And she is a strong supporter of our military:

GG says war in Afghanistan far from 'lost cause'

Jean wiped away tears while laying flowers at the centotaph at Kandahar Airfield, which bears the names of 129 Canadian soldiers killed as part of the Afghan mission since it began in 2002 -- including Maj. Yannick Pepin and Master Cpl. Jean-Francois Drouin, both of whom died Sunday when their convoy was struck by an improvised explosive device, or IED.

"It's painful when we see our soldiers being wounded or being killed by these IEDs," Jean said in an interview with The Canadian Press.

"But we have to remember that every time they try to destroy those terrible weapons, they're saving lives of civilians here and the Afghan children."

Jean later told several hundred Canadian troops that their deeds would not be forgotten.

"Know that your fellow Canadians are very proud of what you accomplish here and are very much aware of the sacrifices you make," she said.

"You have come to this troubled area of the world to defend the democratic ideals to which all peoples should be able to aspire. You, who risk everything to create a safe environment . . . (for) the women, children and men of Afghanistan."

..... She said the suggestion that Canada's war in Afghanistan is a "lost cause" hurts her deeply.

"I think it's important to see that our efforts are not in vain, and when we hear Afghan people and even children saying that the priority is security -- this is what they hope for," she said.

"It's very important that Canadians realize that, yes, our soldiers are taking many risks, but are also doing something that is absolutely exceptional."

I think she has been an outstanding representative for our country. She is warm, attractive, and understanding of people who are less fortunate. She is truly a woman that personifies our country, our diverseness, and our ability to wrap all peoples in our countries arms.

Funny how I can't find that video where she was very passionate about supporting our troops. Anyone have a link to that video?

Freedom Took Washington

Some reports said that they closed down Washington with their protest. Reports are saying anywhere from 100,000 to 2 million people showed up yesterday. Even if it was only 100,000, that is a huge deal. It slaps Obama's leadership right in the butt.

Funny how many of the news outlets are not saying much about the biggest conservative protest ever on the Hill. Maybe it's because the MSM closes down during the weekend and doesn't have the staff to actually cover events. That's the power of blogs. One guy and his kid can give a better picture of what today was like than 100 reporters.

My new favorite American blog, has the American prospective of what is going on down south of us.

Washington D.C. Tea Party Express a HUGE Success!

Huge success? You sure wouldn't know it from the other media outlets. I thought America was different from Canada, I thought their media was less biased than our taxpayer funded CBC and our out to lunch CTV. Sadly it seems not to be true. That's why the people came out in massive numbers to protest in Washington. The media can try to hide the fact by refusing to cover the event, but a grassroots movement will only grow because the media refuses to carry the message. When Pelosi calls average Americans "nazis" and "astroturfers", she just makes them mad. Yet the lefties defend her and make Palin the bad girl.

The media can't adjust to the fact that the internet is immediate, with facebook and youtube, they can not distort the facts anymore. They look like idiots saying that thousands attended, when anyone watching online could see that it was more like 100,000 to 200,000 people.

Freedom?

It's worth fighting for! Good on all the people who showed up on 9/12 to support freedom.

Friday Night Funnies: Sensitive Rednecks

This is from an incredible chalk artist: That is actually a sidewalk. More later.

It's finally Friday, and it's time for us to laugh. Now, after being accused by Liberals of being a red necked Albertan myself, let's start things off with a JOKE, that Liberals will approve of wholeheartedly:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three Sensitive Rednecks
Three Rednecks were working up on a cell phone tower: Cooter, Ronnie and Donnie. As they start their descent, Cooter slips, falls off the tower and is DRT (Dead Right There).

As the ambulance takes the body away, Ronnie says, 'Well, damn, someone should go and tell his wife.'
Donnie says, 'OK, I'm pretty good at that sensitive stuff, I'll do it.'
Two hours later, he comes back carrying a case of Budweiser.
Ronnie says, 'Where did you get that beer, Donnie?'
'Cooter's wife gave it to me,' Ronnie replies.
'That's unbelievable, you told the lady her husband was dead and she gave you beer?'
'Well, not exactly', Donnie says, 'When she answered the door, I said to her, "You must be Cooter's widow".'
She said, 'You must be mistaken, I'm not a widow.'
Then I said, 'I'll bet you a case of Budweiser you are.'
(Rednecks Are Good At That Sensitive crap)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
some stories written from a female's point of view

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his sweat-shirt seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me,
'What setting do I use on the washing machine?'
'It depends,' I replied. 'What does it say on your shirt?'
He yelled back, ' University of Alberta.'
---------------------------------------------

A couple is lying in bed. The man says, 'I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world.'
The woman replies, 'I'll miss you...'
----- ------------------------------------------

'It's just too hot to wear clothes today,' Jack says as he stepped out of the shower, 'honey, what do you think the neighbours would think if I mowed the lawn like this?'
'Probably that I married you for your money,' she replied.
-----------------------------------------------

Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man?
A: A rumour
------- ---------------------------------------

Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods.
Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death..AMEN
----------------------------------------------

Q: Why do little boys whine?
A: They are learning to be men.
----------------------------------------------

Q: What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name?
A: You did not hold the pillow down long enough.
----------------------------------------------

Q: How do you keep your husband from reading your e-mail?
A: Rename the mail folder 'Instruction Manual.'
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chalk guy again, this is a flat sidewalk:

"The Parking Ticket"

Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day my wife and I went into town and went into a shop. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. When we came out, there was a cop writing out a parking ticket.
We went up to him and said, 'Come on man, how about giving a senior citizen a break?'

He ignored us and continued writing the ticket. I called him a Nazi turd. He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires.
So my wife called him a shit-head. He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket.
This went on for about 20 minutes. The more we abused him, the more tickets he wrote. Personally, we didn't care. We came into town by bus and the car had an Obama sticker. We try to have a little fun each day now that we're retired. It's important at our age.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Close your eyes guys....this is for the ladies....Yummy

Ok BE HONEST...how many of you REALLY ENJOY getting little angel love notes from every person in your address book? You know the ones with "I love you so.... here's an angel" ... and some mushy poem crap....
And like the cute wasn't bad enough, they then THREATEN you with bad luck if you don't send it on to others!!

So here's my version:

Take the fairy dust:
Add it to one of those angels
And POOF!!!!....

He's good luck because he probably made you smile.

When you're finished trying to see up his loincloth,
(AND YOU JUST LOOKED AGAIN, DIDN'T YOU??), email this to your girl friends.

(Caution, Muslim mentioned)

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the passenger lounge in Bozeman, Montana, while waiting for their respective flights...

One is an American Indian passing through from Lame Deer, another is a Cowboy on his way to Billings for a livestock show and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived at Montana State University from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table, tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face, and lights a cigarette. The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, 'At one time here... my people were many... but sadly, now we are few.'

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, 'Once my people were few,' he sneers, 'and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?'

The cowboy removes his cigarette from his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl . ..

'I reckon that's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, But I do believe it's a-comin'.'

Parachuted Into A Riding?

Short post tonight because I was tied up talking to my youngest about girls. It was a fun discussion. The kid is really level headed. One female living with 3 males can get challenging...for the males. HA!

I love this cartoon about Green Lizzy:

Source: http://www.edmontonsun.com/comment/cartoons/

Seeing as I mentioned kids, be on the lookout for H1N1, known as swine flu, if your kid looks like this in the morning:

KEEP THEM HOME!!

It's not even Friday yet, but I couldn't help myself. (Lefties, this is a joke!)

As far as the big scoop that the Liberals got by secretly video taping PM Harper's speech? We need more of those secret tapes. Seriously, CBC is so Liberal friendly that they don't even realize that they broadcast the Conservative message across Canada today...good work CBC, for once. Keep those secret tapes coming.

20 Minutes of Iggy Uncut And Raw.

The Youtube videos about Iggy, are coming out so fast it's hard to keep up with them. But first, we need to talk about this article:

Harper's fate tied up with Karzai's

With a federal election increasingly likely, Tuesday's confirmation of widespread fraud in the Afghanistan presidential election from a United Nations-backed election monitoring team is politically dangerous news for the Conservative Prime Minister, putting at even greater risk the Conservatives' embattled redoubt in Quebec and handing the NDP fresh ammunition in battleground ridings, especially in British Columbia.

Is this guy for real??? Election fraud in Afghanistan reflects on our PM? Did he get into the poppy fields?

The Afghan President is, after all, the Canadian Prime Minister's guy. The Conservative government has backed the Karzai administration despite widespread allegations that the regime is a corrupt kleptocracy, funnelling vast sums of aid and local revenues to friends and relations while sustaining unsavoury former warlords neck-deep in the drug trade.

Oh, I get it, the left can't bash Bush anymore, and they love socialist Obama, so that leaves, Karzai. They wouldn't dare condemn China, Cuba or dare I say Saudi Arabia, for their human rights crimes, that's just not the "in" thing to do. This "journalist" should be on some NDP blogroll, not published in a national paper, but that's your lefty press, which is on CO2. Anyways, let's go with that support for war thingy.

Maybe the Globe and Mail should look at this video of Iggy and ask questions about how he talked about torture if necessary but not necessarily torture.

I was reading comments on the Globe and Mail when someone (I can't find that comment again) gave a link to a video from back in 2004, with Charlie Rose. My challenge to you, is to count all the times Iggy said "we", referring to himself and other Americans.

A Conversation with Michael Ignatieff

20 Minutes, of Iggy uncut and raw!

There is so much there, it needs to be broken down, maybe by fellow bloggers.

You Sir Are Scum!

First of all, my deepest sympathy to the families of Maj. Yannick Pepin and Cpl. Jean-Francois Drouin. Something I noticed that retired Colonel Michel Drapeau did not think to do, express sympathy for his fellow military members. What did he do? He disparaged our troops.

I grew up in an army town, so anyone who disparages our troops in anyway gets nothing but scorn from me. So, retired Colonel Michel Drapeau, you sir are scum!

Retired colonel Michel Drapeau, now a military analyst, says news of the latest Canadian casualties will cause soldiers, their families and the general public to question the goal of the mission.

"These losses, in particular of a senior officer, will have a devastating impact upon the morale not only of the soldiers serving in Afghanistan but the military families all across Canada," Drapeau said Tuesday on CTV's Canada AM. "It brings the point home that at the moment we are certainly not winning and at the moment we need to do something to regain the initiative."

I want a match up between Drapeau and Hillier. They are both retired so it should be a fair match. If I was a bookie, the odds would be overwhelmingly in favour of Hillier. Why doesn't CTV interview one of the most popular military people ever, Hillier? Nope, they drag out a guy who retired in the 90's! It's probably because they know that Hillier would never, ever, state that the loss of our soldiers would have a "devastating impact upon the morale" of anyone.

Drapeau says that while heavy-handed tactics may send civilians into the arms of the Taliban, the alternative puts soldiers, including Canadians, at risk.

Heavy-handed tactics? How about your slimy non-support of our troops, Drapeau? How about your intent to demoralize our troops and their families. I'm not the only one who thinks that, from the comments:

SK Veterans' Father
The deaths of these fine soldiers proves nothing of the sort...we are already winning because a fledgling democracy has been established that now needs nurturing...statements like Drapeau's only provide succour to the Taliban and put my son's safety further at risk...please shut up sir and support your military!

Rich
YAY another knee jerk reactionary story about how we are losing the war. It will give me a warm and fuzzy knowing this when I myself go over there next week.(too bad you are not coming with me you could tell me what I am doing wrong and let me know that my actions are all done in futility)

Thanks for that Mr Drapeau. How can I take you seriously if you make statements such as "These losses, in particular of a senior officer, will have a devastating impact upon the morale not only of the soldiers serving in Afghanistan but the military families all across Canada,"

Rank has no meaning when you have to come home in a casket. All deaths are equally as hard no matter what the rank, gender or stature of the person is.
I can tell that you are very much an officer and that attitude shows.

In this fast food culture of instant gratification please realise that there are no instant results. Support our troops and their efforts. Even when the press informs you its bad.

buddy
Col Drapeau is a retired officer, who has had no battlefield experience in his career and spent most of his time at a desk worrying about supply issues in order to save money...What little he seems to know about operations comes from discussing it with other retired senior officers, most of whom have been in the same technocratic structure of the past. His comments should be taken as the windy howls of a wanna be soldier and do not reflect the leadership and dedication of all members of the CF. Old style officers of his ilk should gently fade away and grow vegetables in their garden and leave soldiering to the current leadership.

Read more at the link provided, funny how the comments have been closed and they did not allow any thumbs up/down on the article.

I have so much respect for our soldiers that when I see a supposed soldier, actively try to demoralize our troops, all I can think of is the scum that sits on top of the bathtub water after a long weekend of camping. You need to pull the plug, but then you have to scrub that scum off of the sides of the tub.

You sir are that scum.

REDRUM, REDRUM

Photo: Beijing China

Okay, let's just kill our economy. Really, why go down slowly being suffocated by all those green bags, let's just agree with the eco-nuts, slit our wrists and bleed our economy to death.

Photo: The badly polluting oil sands....see that blue sky? Hummmm, are we being lied to?

Hey, that's another compare and contrast! China or Alberta? Who is polluting more, you decide.

The Canadian government, long criticized by environmentalists for not doing its fair share to fight against catastrophic climate change, has said its top priority at the Copenhagen negotiations is to ensure there are "commitments from all major economies" - a reference to countries such as India and China that have said it's unfair for them to stem their economic growth to deal with climate change caused largely by western economies.
(bolding is mine)

Yikes, catastrophic climate change....that's enough to scare me into.....wait a minute, where is the proof? I know a little bit about modeling, and I know that no reputable scientist can predict anything beyond the range of the data. In other words, if your data is weekly, you can predict the next week pretty accurately, but not what will happen next year.

In a submission to the UN earlier this year the Harper government declared more specifically that "all parties" at Copenhagen must agree to "establish, regularly update and submit in writing . . . a long-term national greenhouse gas emissions limitation or reduction pathway for regular review by the Conference of the Parties."

But Levi said major developed economies such as Canada should avoid demanding specific emission commitments and instead work toward a "bottom up" strategy that seeks clear agreements that allow countries like China, India, Brazil and Indonesia to obtain western assistance to adapt their economies in a more environment-friendly way.

Double yikes! Levi is all for a wealth transfer from developed nations to his friends bank accounts. That is what this is, a wealth transfer scheme, notice that Levi never uses any actual DATA to support his assumptions.

"It is controversial enough to suggest that a country like India, with about 5% the per capita emissions of Canada, should take binding targets - especially given that Canada is openly walking away from its own commitments," Saul wrote in an e-mail.

"But to suggest that India should accept absolute emission targets is in another world. It leads one to think that this government is actively trying to undermine the negotiations."

Triple yikes! Notice how the eco-nuts use PER CAPITA, as a justification for India and China to continue polluting? They have billions of people so PER CAPITA, they do not pollute as much as Canada. Do they really think we are idiots?

Look at the two pictures, who is polluting the most? In the age of the internet, we get to call the "experts" out. Show us your data, not your rhetoric. We want facts, not some journalist who only talks to his/her eco-friends.

The eco-nuts want to REDRUM our economy. I want the environmentalists to start talking land mass, and trees, not this PER CAPITA garbage. It actually let's China and India pollute more, because they have more people. It makes Canada the bad guy because we have more trees than any one in the world (hint: trees love CO2) but only have 30 million people. It's a total farce.

Militants Versus Grassroots!

Something is brewing in America, and it is gaining momentum. First they had the tea party protests, then this summer they had the town hall meetings. The Democrats were caught off guard at this grassroots protest. Conservatives don't usually protest, I know I never have, not even in my more radical university days. So what is motivating Americans to protest now? I remember reading Ayn Rands "We The Living", and now we are hearing the same refrain from the American people. It is "We The People" who elect the politicians.

The Democrats are late starting, but they are revving up the union and Acorn machine, and it is anything but grassroots, it appears pretty militant to me, but what do I know up here in Canada, except what I find on the internet.

Let me compare and contrast once again, but this time with the two types of protests.

First we have the tea parties and town halls, mostly peaceful, but lots of yelling. Most people get emotionally involved about health care, but I think it's more than health care that has people upset, it's not just Republicans joining the tea parties, it's American patriots.

The TeaPartyExpress Bus is stopping at over 30 cities in America with the last stop in Washington on September 12th, 2009. If even people up here in Canada are watching, what must it feel like in the US? Change is brewing, but I'm not sure it's the change Americans expected.

Compare: Obamacare bus comes to Indy.

Contrast: Tea Party Express in Indy.

Now you tell me, who are the real Americans protesting for something they believe in, and who are the phonies?

September 12th should be interesting.

We Forget About The Victims!

We read daily about someone shot and killed or raped and killed. It gets numbing. You just shrug it off because it wasn't your family member. So, we forget about the victim. Here is a chilling call for help from a victim of kidnap, and rape. Unfortunately, she was shot in the back of the head and buried in a shallow grave.

Too ghoulish for you? By the way, she is calling from his cell phone, which helped to convict him. There are lots of videos to see, if you can stand it. Don't want to hear this stuff because it's too graphic? What about the victim? How do you think she was feeling? Does political correctness prevent us from hearing about these horrific murders?

SARASOTA, Fla. — A jury has recommended execution for a man who abducted, raped and killed a young southwest Florida mother.

The Sarasota jury voted 12-0 Friday to recommend death for 38-year-old Michael King. The judge must give the advisory opinion great weight when he sentences King later.

DNA evidence and a 911 call Denise Lee made from King's cell phone tied him to the crimes. The same jury convicted him of first-degree murder last week.

Lee's cries for help were heard on one of several 911 calls made about the abduction. One motorist was able to describe the car and its location, but the call was never relayed to patrol officers looking for the 21-year-old mother of two.

This happened in the US, but it could have been up here in Canada. What are our laws? The jury found the guy guilty and recommended the death penalty. In Canada we do not have the death penalty, because we are a more "liberal" society than the Americans. We forget about the victims, and concentrate on the rehabilitation of the criminal. How is that right?

It's funny because the left yells about a bomb in Afghanistan killing innocent victims, in a war. (Yes, you lefties, it is a REAL war, not peacekeeping.) They get all up in arms about that happening, but are surprisingly silent about our own victims, right here at home.

Our laws and judges favour criminals. We forget about the victims! This has to change!

Friday Night Funnies: The Bath Test

Okay, it's Friday again and time to sit back with a glass of wine and laugh!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Bathtub Test
During a visit to the mental asylum, I asked the director how do
you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," I said "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."
"No." said the director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

ARE YOU GOING TO PASS THIS ON, OR DO YOU WANT THE BED NEXT TO MINE??

so you may as well tell me now... Was it Tina Minetti?'

'I cannot say.'

'Was it Teresa Mazzarelli?'

'I'll never tell.'

'Was it Nina Capelli?'

'I'm sorry, but I cannot name her.'

'Was it Cathy Piriano?'

'My lips are sealed.'

'Was it Rosa DiAngelo, then?'

'Please, Father, I cannot tell you.'

The priest sighs in frustration.
'You're very tight lipped, and I admire that.
But you've sinned and have to atone.
You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months.
Now you go and behave yourself.'

Joey walks back to his pew,
and his friend Franco slides over and whispers,
'What'd you get?'

'Four months vacation and five good leads.'

Ole Fills In

A doctor in Duluth wanted to get off work and go hunting, so he approached his assistant. 'Ole, I am goin' huntin' tomorrow and don't want to close the clinic.

I want you to take care of the clinic and take care of all my patients.'

'Yes, sir!' answers Ole.

The doctor goes hunting and returns the following day and asks: 'So, Ole,
How was your day?'

Ole told him that he took care of three patients. 'The first one had a
Headache so I gave him TYLENOL.'

'Bravo, Mate, and the second one?' asks the doctor.

'The second one had stomach burning and I gave him MAALOX, sir,' says Ole.

Bravo, bravo! You're good at this and what about the third one?' asks the
Doctor.

'Sir, I was sitting here and suddenly the door opens and a woman enters.
Like a flame, she undresses herself, taking off everything including her bra

And her panties and lies down on the table and shouts: HELP ME - I haven't

Seen a man in over two years!!

'Tunderin' Lard Yeezus, Ole, what did you do?' asks the doctor.

.
. 'I put drops in her eyes!!

Let's Compare And Contrast Shall We!

Here in Alberta, Rutherford is the go too guy. So all politicians want to get on his show. This week we have had two politicians to listen to. I know all the rage today was Bob Rae and what a mess he made of his interview....is it something in the water in Toronto that makes the Liberal Party of Toronto go haywire? Here is a great video on what Bob Rae said:

Bob Rae Lies About The Coalition! Great video Ardvark!

Contrast that little gem with this other politician who was on Rutherford.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Now my only question is, who has more credibility?

Are The Conservatives Chicken?

Will they kill section 13? Under threat of an election, will they find their balls? Oops, I mean moral imperative.

I have been disappointed that the Conservatives have been too chicken to tackle the Human Rights Commissions, we accuse Liberals of being socialists, but why are the Conservatives cowering? They are hiding behind their voters hoping that nobody will rock the boat.

Well I say rock that boat!!! Shout it from the roof tops that "Freedom of Speech" is the most important component of our democracy. Without freedom of speech, Canada is doomed. Go to Ezra Levant blog, and read what he says. Here is just one example.

Sadly some MP's are more interested in getting elected than actually supporting "Freedom of Speech". They are more interested in their "image" than they are the people who vote for them. They have no clue what a blog is and what impact it might have in their ridings. They are neanderthals.

Time to show ALL MP's that blogs count and people are listening. If your MP is a neanderthal, phone him/her because email is beyond them.

Will the Conservatives finally grow some... and get rid of section 13(1)? My vote depends on it. To date my MP has given support for the idea of getting rid of section 13(1), I hope more MP's of all parties will understand the importance of getting rid of this discriminatory section of the HRC's.

Are the Conservatives Chicken? YES.

I Agree With Iggy!

It's time for an election. All my lefty trolls have finally convinced me that it's time for the Harper government to fall. They present such compelling arguments like:

HAHAHAHAHAHA, that I have finally fallen under their spell, or is that spiel?

I agree with Iggy!

Liberals will move to topple Harper government

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff says he will no longer support Stephen Harper's minority government.

In a speech Tuesday to the Liberal caucus, Ignatieff said Harper's time as prime minister, "is over."

"I cannot support this government any further," Ignatieff said to cheers and wild applause, following a meeting with his Liberal caucus, which is on retreat in Sudbury, Ont.

"We will hold Stephen Harper to account and we will oppose his government in Parliament.

This is music to my Conservative ears. Instead of having to wait another year or so for a Conservative majority, we now have Iggy giving it to us on a golden platter. Now this could be my own bias, but remember this post of mine?

Vancouver South 22
Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca 68
Brampton West 231
Welland 300
Edmonton-Strathcona 463
Western Arctic 523
Vancouver Kingsway 745
Brampton-Springdale 773
Burnaby-Douglas 798
Sault Ste. Marie 1111
New Westminster-Coquitlam 1488

Add them up, you get 6522. Less than 7000 votes. The 11 ridings we needed were less than 7000 votes away.

So, what makes the Liberals think they are any closer to winning today than they were with Dion? The only thing that has changed is their leader, now we have 62 year old American Iggy (reminds me of 70+ McCain) on his last quest for some meaning to his life attempting to take power. I say go for it!

Look at how supportive his own people are:

Yikes even Dion appears confused!

Do you see how glassy eyed Liberal Senator Smith looks? Obviously he is in full support. HAHAHAHAHAHA, as my trolls would say.

So, once again, I wholeheartedly support Iggy, he should definitely cause an election this fall. I am behind him every step of the way....to a Conservative majority.

Oh dang, maybe I should keep my mouth shut and let Iggy fail all on his own.

Go Iggy GO!!!!!! Ignore the fact that only 7000 votes are needed by the Conservatives for a majority, and you can bet that Edmonton Strathcona is coming back to the Conservatives from greeny and liberal supported NDP ditsy Linda Duncan.

If Conservatives can't beat these guys, in Strathcona, we are doomed! HA!

I Can't Believe I'm Going To Agree With Him...

I didn't think I would ever see the day that I could ever agree with Martin, but it seems with this article I do. This could be an outlier, but for now I will give Martin praise for a well written column.

OTTAWA -- To lift a quip from Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Arctic sovereignty policy and apply it to the American view of Alberta’s oil sands: use it or lose it.

The Chinese government pushed its shovel deep into Canada’s energy motherlode on Monday when it announced a $2-billion stake in a five-billion-barrel reserve of “dirty oil” that Americans increasingly find unworthy of fuelling their vehicles.

The 60% claim by PetroChina in two projects owned by Athabasca Oil Sands Corp., while small compared to the great gobs of capital pouring into oil sands expansion and extraction, are the global giant’s largest investment in Canadian energy yet.

And China usually buys into product it aims to consume.

Sources in Washington predict politicians there will not be pleased at having a massive supply of secure energy on their northern doorstep slipping under Chinese ownership.

Well, too bad.

Exactly, too bad. Why is Chinese ownership bad, but American ownership is okay? Why can American and Dutch companies buy up the oilsands and then decide the oil is too "dirty" for them, yet China's money is somehow "dirty" so they can't invest.

Alberta needs to sell it's oil and if the Obama administration thinks we "stink", then don't complain if we start selling our output to the highest buyer.

To the econuts, fight China on this one why don't you? Tell them how bad the "tarsands" are, and how they shouldn't invest in Canada's "dirty" oil. It's not like they can't get "blood" oil from other countries.

What will Quebec do now that Alberta is a have not province? If all provinces are have not, how can there be a transfer of tax dollars from one region to another? How can equalization work? Seeing how the Bloc are the federal choice in Quebec, maybe they should be made to be accountable for any equalization loses. Let the Bloc explain their policy on how Quebec can leave Canada and still survive. Let the Bloc finally start to pay the bills, instead of mouthing off about how good separation from Canada will be.

Do I want China investing in the oilsands, not really, but if the Americans won't, as they cry about how "dirty" that oil is, than okay, it won't bother me for long. Welcome China, I like your people a lot, just not your political (or lack thereof)system.

Now, didn't PM Harper warn the Americans of the consequences of opening up the free trade agreement? See what protectionism nets you Obamamations? Hey, and Saskatchewan has potash, and oil, this could get interesting.

This Weeks Round Up!

What's been going on this week? Not much, but some people want to make much out of nothing.

Senate appointments: I say go for it PM Harper, the only ones moaning are the poor Liberals who see their power eroding. They are also so slimy that they complain about someone who has admitted they used to be illiterate. So much for the compassionate lefties.

Election? I already showed you how we only needed less than 7000 more votes to win a majority. Why would the Liberals even be thinking election? I can only think that they except to win with a coalition, but they will not tell voters that's what's going to happen. Take Edmonton Strathcona as an example, Liberals openly voted for the NDP to defeat Rahim Jaffer, can they do that in every riding and get away with it?

Iggy? He changes in a telephone booth and champions......??? Someone give me a hint of just what it is he champions, other than puffins who hide their own pooh.

Obama goes on vacation and his believers attack the CIA to take the pressure off Democrats over health care. That should further tick off Americans who want America to stay safe.

Global warming forgot Ontario this week and caused havoc last week, if you believe the reports. Personally, I just think it's weather, but being one of those "deniers" what do I know, the science is settled.

Clinton came to town and cost Canadians 3 million dollars, but because he is a lefty, our MSM was all over him like Monica and a cigar. Was Belinda there?

Alberta needs a new Premier and if the Conservatives don't understand that, they will lose votes to the Wildrose Alliance next election. Even my Liberal Mom in BC misses Ralph Klein, so do I. He might have been rough around the edges, but he got Alberta into good shape, which Fast Eddie has wiped out in two short years.

Other than that, it's been quiet. HA!

Curahee!

I recently talked to a young woman who had just been to Afghanistan to visit her grandmother. She was in Kabul, and was amazed at how much had changed in just a few years. She has hope that Afghanistan now has a chance, but she's worried that Canada and NATO might pull out before real peace in Afghanistan can be achieved.

The NATO troops are doing an excellent job. Unfortunately, some countries are not pulling their weight in Afghanistan. Our Canadian troops are doing an excellent job, and we need to acknowledge their sacrifices for Canada and the citizens of Afghanistan. Americans have also been fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. Here is one very inspiring story:

To all our Canadian troops, all I can say is, thank you. We hear about the ones who die, but no one takes the time to talk to those who have been wounded. Those who have been injured in our fight against terrorists, need to be acknowledged, not shuffled into the back rooms. We do not see the harm that can happen to our troops, we are blind to the danger. We need to support all those who have served our country, not just those who have died, but those who have been wounded. They are the living truth of our fight against terrorists.

Friday Night Funnies: The Dentist

Okay, let's start off with one of the funniest classics ever, the dentist.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you know?

That the words race car spelled backward says race car.

That eat is the only word that if you take the 1st letter and move it to the last, it spells it's past tense ate.

And have you noticed that if you rearrange the letters in "illegal immigrants,” and add just a few more letters, it spells out: "Go home you free-loading, benefit grabbing, kid-producing, violent, non-English speaking assholes and take those hairy-faced, sandal wearing, bomb making, goat loving, smelly rag head bastards with you."

How weird is that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doctor's Visit. . .

When Barack Obama got out of the shower and was drying off he looked in
The mirror and noticed he was white from the neck up to the
top of his head.

In sheer panic and fearing he was turning white and might have to start
Working for a living, he called his doctor and told him about his
Problem. The doctor advised him to come to his office immediately.

After an examination, the doctor mixed a concoction of brown liquid
Which he gave it to Obama and told him to drink all of it.

After drinking the concoction, Obama replied,
'That tasted like bull shit!'

The doctor replied, "It was! You were a quart low!!"

From a new American friend.....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t ignore this one, please read it

THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU...... IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOUR MOTHER YOUR SISTER OR YOUR DAUGHTER...

The strangest thing happened to me this weekend. I was sitting at a local outdoor cafe having lunch by myself and two men came and sat down at my table.... I gave them the death look, but they just casually stayed at my table and wouldn't leave me alone. I shined up my ring on my married finger, then placed my hand on the table and I hinted to them that I was married and that I was not interested in them.

Luckily for me they got the hint and left, but thankfully the whole thing was captured on the Cafe's camera. I'm sending you this picture as a warning... just in case they try and pick you up too..

Honestly, some men think they are God's gift to women.

Joe Legal vs. Jose Illegal

You have 2 families... "Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families have 2 parents, 2 children and live in California.
"Joe Legal" works in construction, has a Social Security Number, and makes $25.00 per hour with payroll taxes deducted.

"Jose Illegal" also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".
Joe Legal... $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week = $52,000 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax. Joe Legal now has $31,231.00.

Jose Illegal... $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week = $31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal pays for Medical and Dental Insurance with limited coverage ... $1000.00 per month = $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $19,231.00.
Jose Illegal has full Medical and Dental coverage through the state and local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal makes too much money to be eligible for Food Stamps or Welfare so Joe Legal pays for food... $1,000.00 per month = $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for Food Stamps and Welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,000.00 per month = $12,000.00 per year. Joe Legal is now in the hole -$4,769.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500 per month Federal rent subsidy, which entirely pays his rent of $500.00 per month = $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.
Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays and gets a part time job after work to make ends meet.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal's and Jose Illegal's children both attend the same school.

Joe Legal pays for his children's lunches while Jose Illegal's children get free government sponsored lunches.

Joe Legal's children go home after school. Jose Illegal's children have an after school ESL program which, again, is provided free of charge.

Joe Legal and Jose Illegal both enjoy the same Police and Fire Services, but Joe Legal paid for them and Jose Illegal did not pay.

ARE YOU MAD YET?!?!?!

PROGRESSIVE Liberals, Shame!

Here is a sample from CBC of our tolerant liberals. Funny, CTV had comments all day, and poof, they disappeared them.

OMG...an illiterate coach as a senator. I always assumed a minimum of intellectual capacities was required to hold such a position. But then, look at who made the appointment...that explains everything. But I should be fair and give Harper credit for one thing: he's very creative when it comes to say and do stupid things.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
he picture says it all,, What's that Jacques ? Can't read?
Just ask the Duffer or the Green girl, how to vote, were all going down the same hill anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
with the 9 new cons at the trough harper is only 3 short of a majority in the upper house. when he gets four more he will dramatically change CANADA forever. Our hope is that we get a Lib. govt supported by the NDP. BUT then how does that govt pass any bills with a Con. marority in the senate ? Get rid of it and the sooner the better
Harper has lots of right wing prov. govts [b.c., sask, PQ, NL, NB] to elect senators if he strong armed them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's so good to hear that the senate has another appointee who certainly belongs there....Jacques Demers....an illiterate turkey....My God.....Where do they come from? ....No wonder everyone thinks it's a room full of aging idiots.
Abolish that useless dumb place....give the money to the homeless.

Demers has NO Qualifications to be in the Senate.
If you think he does then you should appoint me because I, at least, can read and write.
------------------------------------
Rules Governing the Appointment of Senators
Qualifications for Becoming a Senator
Canada’s written Constitution provides several requirements for becoming a Senator. Appointees must be 30 years of age or older, a resident of the province (or territory) for which they are appointed, and a natural born or naturalized subject of the Queen. Reflecting the tradition that the Senate consists of members of the economic elite, Senators must also own property in the province they represent. This requirement has, however, become irrelevant, as the property requirement is set at $4,000, meaning that most persons today are eligible for appointment to the Senate.

tallman: Demers has NO Qualifications to be in the Senate.

Ken, I guess Mr Demers did read the qualifications to become a sentor. He passes all qualifications.

tallman: If you think he does then you should appoint me because I, at least, can READ and write.

It does seem that the READING part is a little lacking Ken, Maybe you can ask Mr. Demers for a little HELP..
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Senate appointments are mockery and exaltation of partisan politics. If you suck up to the PM, you become a senator. That is the only qualification required to collect a huge pay, a cushy life and grand retirement pension.

Even Jack Demers, an illeterate person, will now have to learn to read and write. Mr. Harper you have made a mockery of the Senate, as the farewell act, before you are tossed out in the next elections..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jacques Demers? Is this the best person for the job the cons could come up with from Quebec?"I've worked so hard these last four years to improve my reading and writing. All of a sudden, they name me senator. It's just incredible," Demers, 65, said."... What a slap in the face, especially to those of us who learned how to read and write in elementary.(does that makes us more qualified for the job?) I'd say so.
This Prime Minister is honestly the biggest hypocrite in Canadian political history.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe it....Demers a Senator....WOOW
He bullshit everyone all his life hiding the fact that he could not read or write and that makes him the best candidate for a senator appointment. Like they say.
Only in Canada.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I see others giving the thumbs down to my earlier comment, I realize that at least those individuals can read.

Regardless of what we think about the current form of the Senate, do all you wonderfully liberated bloggers really want to be governed by people who can't read or write?

Political correctness has really gotten out of hand.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If ignorance is the key issue, there is a good chance Demers is better qualified to be prime minister then Harper.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pb-blade wrote:
Wow some of you are horridly ignorant. Criticizing Harper for appointing conservative leaning senators. Before you get off your high horses, don't forget that the senate was Liberal dominated and where many conservative bills went to die as such.

I would say that harper's senator choice(one at least) is horridly Ignorant.
Demers has NO Qualifications to be in the Senate.

I have seen more of the world than a Hockey Rink and I didn't have to LIE through my entire life to hide something that could have been corrected long before Demers was an ADVANCED AGE.
He took the EASY ROAD for as long as he could.
It wasn't embarrassing enough to do anything about until he was faced with Life After Hockey.
A life of Lies and deceit fits right in with haprer's requisites for Senator..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
While Mr. Demers' issues with literacy may well be no fault of his own, it is scandalous that someone who has only been able to attempt rudimentary reading and (perhaps) writing would be named a Senator.

What the crap does Harper think he's doing?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jacques Demers.... in the Senate?!? what a stroke of Harper style brilliance! Put an illiterate and out of work Hockey coach into the Senate. He is a Conservative Party supporter, and a willing puppet & pawn. That will piss off the Liberals. He is from hockey proud Quebec, and perhaps he will get a few extra votes. The red neck & stupid will think, gee, that Harper guy is pretty good! Someone like me in the Senate. More votes from his core supporters. The 'professor' types will be pissed off, and scream to get rid of the Senate as a result. If it helps to destroy the little bit of credibility that the Senate has left, perhaps it will be all that’s needed to kill it. That will perhaps allow someone like Harper to have no limits on the future political crap they can pull, and get away with. Poor Demers would be stunned enough to think its a genuine pat on the back rather than the subtle insult that it probably is. Its got Harper written all over it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There you have it, those PROGRESSIVE Liberals, bashing a person who has had problems reading. You sick little people, you have no idea what compassion is all about. You accuse Conservatives of being cold hearted, yet you show us all how elitist you are.

Instead of championing Demers getting a senate appointment, you sick little lefties denigrate him.

What a wonderful thing that a person who struggled with reading has been appointed to our senate. Good for him and good for PM Harper!

Remember The Drugs You Smoked In University?

Well, this is a clear picture of what happens to you when you smoke too much of the wacky stuff. This is a glimpse into the lefty world, and it's really too funny. They think they are talking intelligently about......well, nothing. The fawning over a radical reminds me of kindergarten when the most popular kid was the one who didn't pee his pants.

Oh, in case you are not sure that she is a radical idiot, let her show you, in her own words.

Typical leftist garbage, shout "racist" over everything you disagree with. We might as well laugh about them, because that's all the consideration they are worth.

There before you stands the typical feminist, airhead. You go girl! HA! Sad little dumb bunny.
