So It Begins, The Fight!

The fight against the MSM, the fight against smears from the opposition, begins now. Every little media bias needs to be exposed, no matter how big or how small. Every time someone like Ralph Goodale opens his mouth, he needs to be called on his over the top comments. Conservatives are always under the microscope, it's time to turn the tables.

A great example of how this works is Ezra, and his fight with the HRC's. He came into that interview room ready to fight, and the interviewer was stunned that she wasn't respected for the God she thought she was, she resigned under the pressure. Since then the HRC's have been under the glare of the floodlight, and they are running scared. It's the classic example of how challenging someone who can not defend their position turns them into wimps.

Agree with them, no problem, disagree, you become a "knuckle dragging" redneck, prehistoric monster. Well if I'm going to be a prehistoric monster, I pick the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Let's step it up a notch, and start putting the pressure on lefty media, opposition MP's, and the government.

To begin the process, two examples:

1. Who released the 17 year old video? No one has mentioned that little gem. I heard it might be Pat Atkinson, whether it is or not, let's look at her record.

It is disappointing, and in our view, economically damaging to Saskatchewan’s future job creation prospects that the Provincial Government’s commitment to low utility and vehicle insurance rates does not extend to the businesses that create jobs for Saskatchewan people at a level over 20 times the employment levels of government owned utilities and businesses. .....

Our Chamber also remains troubled that a productivity agenda has not yet been embraced by the crown entities for which you are accountable as Minister.

So, this NDP Minister was incompetent, from reading that letter, she couldn't care less. Proof: Saskatchewan is booming under the Saskatchewan Party. Read the letter, you decide. Why did she release the tape instead of returning it to the rightful owners? She obviously has no clue what honour means. Shame.

2. CTV and the Globe and Mail, both posted a picture of PM Harper kneeling and praying at Auschwitz. CTV did not allow any comments, even though they allowed people to comment endlessly on the Lukiwski story. The Globe and Mail, allowed only 43 comments then they closed comments, they also erased the picture of PM Harper kneeling to pray for the Holocaust victims. All articles about Lukiwski have disappeared from the Globe and Mail. Guess they accomplished their objective, ruin a person's life. They have also now posted a garbage smear attempt on their site.

Staff briefed Bernier to discuss wireless issue with Mulroney
When the Conservatives were asked last fall if government ministers met with Brian Mulroney about the big-money auction of wireless-telephone airwaves, the Tories dismissed the questions as “ridiculous,” “nonsense” and “hogwash.”

Yet government documents show that cabinet minister Maxime Bernier was scheduled by his staff to do just that in November of 2006, with a meeting set at Montreal's University Club that was expected to include talk about telecommunications issues that concerned Mr. Mulroney's employer, Quebecor Inc.

That meeting was cancelled, and Mr. Mulroney's associates say that's because an appointment to chat was mistaken for a business meeting by Mr. Bernier's aides.

Smear, smear, smear, endless smear, they are wallowing in it, they are rolling in the mud, they are hoping it rubs off on the Conservatives, it hasn't yet, and it will not because people are not listening anymore. Cry wolf MSM, see who comes to your rescue.

So, the fight begins, it's the small little digs, not the "I got you" moments that the MSM are counting on. It's the Fife's calling us "knuckle draggers" and laughing moments they hope stick. They are too stupid to understand that they are awakening those that have slumbered.

Agreed Hunter, Hedy "burning crosses" Fry comes to mind, so too does Scotty "you'll be happy soon" Bryson and don't forget Svend "light fingers" Robinson. Then there is the media without sin like Krista and the other Ceeb liberal whores...end of rant.

They are no longer even hiding their attempts at smearing the Tories.

I guess nothing has worked so far, so they figure they might as well go for broke.

Oh for a tape recorder at a Press Gallery Gathering - I'll bet that would be interesting!

We need to start a list somewhere because we can all think of instances where Liberals or NDP have said things or done things that should have gotten more play and then we can think of things that the Tories have done that shouldn't even have gotten a mention, but are reported on for days (Peter's Dog Comment) - note how I say that even though THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE HE SAID IT! - that is how reporting on something day after day makes it part of a persons memory.

Time to put a stop to it.

But How.....?

One of the ways to do it is to support those media that are more reasonable - national post, Macleans. They are by no means perfect, but they are not so so over-the-top anti-CPC like CTV, CBC, G&M, or Toronto Star.

Subscribe, leave used copies in waiting rooms and subways, and talk to family and friends.

I also consciously remove those other papers and put them in the garbage whenever I see them.

It's a tiny step, but I do it, and if enough people did it would help.

Dealing with the TV media is harder.... I just ignore them but I realize that many do not. I think to have some impact there we need to educate a new generation of journalists.

Great post, Hunter. I just linked to it.

I forgot to mention on a previous posting that my email to Fife had also been "copied" to my MP (Gary Lunn - CPC). I suggest that even if your MP is not a conservative, they should be "kept in the loop" by senting them emails, letters, what ever. Send a copy to the PM as well.

When the CBC was openly "caught" working with the liberal party "crafting" questions to be asked at an Ethics Committee, what coverage on our MSM did the Conservative Party receive? When the reporters did mention it, it was "pushed off" especially by Robert Fife as "every party did it".... well, we know that every party has at least one member who has said things that if they were broadcasted the way this affair has been.... would also bring hardship to their party... but that never happens.... if it is against the Conservative Party - they push it FOR DAYS! Now, we have to really work at this and expose the injustice that the party is receiving. Would it help if we had a national petition and demand that this injustice stop. All we want is non-bias reporting. Report the facts, not made up facts to help the liberal party remain up in the polls like Robert Fife, Jane Tabor, Gloria Galloway, Greg Weston AND Craig Oliver has been doing since the Tories came to power. Get rid of those hacks... and have reporters who give us the facts... we can make up our own minds what we want to do...

Great comments ALL!

A list is an excellent idea, maybe a quick point by point list that gets updated every week. The problem with that is the time it would take one person to compile all the incidences that have occurred.

The best idea might be using the forum on Blogging Tories so that anyone who catchs the media or an MP out can post it there, then everyone can participate. I don't often use that tool, but I like the idea that bloggers and non-bloggers could participate, it would give everyone a chance to post, and be one comprehensive collection site.

What do you think?

What troubles me the is the fact that the CBC is publicly funded and is always so blatantly anti-Conservative. For a private broadcaster to show bias is one thing but when it is a crown corporation receiving 1 billion taxpayer dollars per year something must be done.

Saskatchewan's economy is now "booming" under the leadership of the Sask Party? Even though they've only been in power for about 4 months. Do you have any proof to back that up?

Hello, I am the anon that posted the original posting about fighting journalists with their own weapons. I'm glad you like the idea.

The only thing I have right now is an old video tape of Lloyd Robertson doing an all nighter on New Years night 1999/2000. He had about 3 kilograms of make up on his face and the lighting was so bad (in the studio) that he looked the Joker. It was HILARIOUS!

I know thats a low blow but who cares? The MSM took pot shots about Harper when he gained weight so I suppose cracks about journalist's appearances could be allowed as well.

As soon as I can transfer it from VHS to my PC I'll e-mail it around.

Anon 10:44, check out Stats Can, Sask is out performing even Alberta. The rigs have all moved to Sask from Alberta, if you don't kow that, you don't live in either Alberta or Sask.

Anon 10:59, see what you started??? Thanks for getting me and many others thinking. I would love a copy of the tape, just email me (see my profile), it could be the next Youtube hit!

As I stated in another post, it's the people who comment on a blog that make the difference. If we band together in the effort to call the media and MP's on bad behaviour, we have power.

As someone who lives in Alberta and works in the Oil & Gas industry I will make this comment re the Saskatchewan boom.

The boom is NOT because of the Sask Party. The boom started last year before they came to power. The real reason for the boom is lower costs. Plain and simple. And the reason for lower costs in Saskatchewan is because of the past NDP Government's policies that resulted in no one wanting to live in Sask and all the best and brightest moving out of the province. With negative pressure in Sask and positive pressure in Alberta w.r.t. labour and housing, it was inevitable that the industry shift to Sask. Over time as Sask heats up and Alberta cools off the dynamic causing this shift will perhaps shift West again. Or perhaps it will shift further East to Manitoba.

Either way, the boom in Sask is more a result of the poor management by the NDP than the short lived good management of the Sask Party.

My son just pointed out something to me and this homophobic tape issue is starting cross our border. This is what he found. It's a good take on the issue. http://rense.com/general81/homophobe.htm
Not a mainstream site but it is a start.

Fight! Made me think. We have our men and women in uniform in Afghanistan fighting and dying to help the those people fight for their freedom and justice At the same time on our own soil there are those who are trying to tell us how we should feel, what we should say, and how we should say it.

You have your HRC's trying to stifle free speech. You have the "progressives" and the media trying to manipulate the way we think and the way we act and what we say and are taken to task if we don't comply. Yet they can say or do almost anything without consequence. Is it me or is there something wrong with this picture?

To all of the people who want to fight. Here is a nice little mean spirited nusiance way of fighting back.

If your favorite TV radio magazine or newspaper allows leters to the editor to be faxed in then write the letter on a small 3 X 3 inch piece of white paper. Then tape that paper to a 8 1/2 by 11 inch piece of BLACK paper and fax it.

By the time the fax on their end finishes printing their fax machine will be out of toner.

Like I said, petty but who cares? Have a nice day.

Even better is too call up there main numbers and ask to to speak to Mike Hunt, or ask if there refigerator is running!! Tie up those phones, stop them from making bad news on our party and country.
