Something Stinks To High Heaven At Elections Canada!

Here is an interview between Rutherford and Van Loan, without the usual media spinners and outside of the sound bites you get in Question Period. Thanks to my commenter, frmgrl for sending me to the link!

Interesting, Elections Canada never investigated the Liberals over adscam. They also took some privileged lawyer-client documents concerning the lawsuit against themselves. Nice. How fast are their photocopiers I wonder. How quickly can the mole send the documents to the Liberals. Looks like we live in a dictatorship where government agencies can pick and choose who to target and who to give a free pass.

Add Elections Canada to the same garbage heap as the Human Rights Commissions. Who are the Liberals going to use next? Where is their next mole hidden? Dirty politics, the only thing Liberals know how to do well. They are playing a dangerous game. Van Loan alludes to it in the interview. Something stinks to high heaven at Elections Canada.

From what I heard on MDL, they also took the Conservatives' election strategies.

I wonder if any of that will get leaked too?

Holy, really Joanne? That is a prime example of going too far.

I hope the election strategies said "beat Dion". If Liberals get their hands on election plans, because of this what can the Conservatives do?

It's very important to realize that Peter Van Loan is lying in the interview. The Elections Canada investigation began in April, 2007. The CPC launched their lawsuit over 2 months later. It's a matter of public record. If you're really interested in the truth regarding this matter, take a closer look.

Btw, Duffy was forced to issue an apology and retraction on the show today. He made false statements about Adscam on his Friday show. Obviously he was threatened with a potential libel suit. His days as being the conservatives' personal media poodle are drawing to an end.

You should have the seen the sniveling going on with Bonner, Travers, Rob Russo and Don Newman on CBC’s Spinsanity.

There wasn’t an “alleged” uttered in the bunch.

It is now a fact that Conservatives broke the law. Travers was ranting about ad violations "combined with" RCMP raids. It was a conspiracy!

CBC was there first to the raid and it is shocked that didn't get invited to the warrant releasing party.

Total cryfest.

Mr. Sparrow and Mr. Finley’s Very Bad Day actually began last week when a crew of RCMP officers unexpectedly turned up at Conservative party headquarters in Ottawa, equipped with a search warrant. Their arrival had been comprehensively leaked, so that every reporter in spitting distance -— not to mention a cameraperson from the Liberal Party -— was there waiting when the Mounties conducted their search.

That was bad for the Tories, who knew they’d be watching that footage replayed repeatedly in Liberal ads whenever the next election rolls around. Enraged, they fought a rearguard action all week, insisting the “raid” was all a lot of noise about nothing, mainly just some legal wrangling associated to the party’s lawsuit against Elections Canada. Asked repeatedly to hand over documents spelling out the reasons for the search, House leader Peter Van Loan spread his arms wide, adopted an expression of wounded innocence, and pleaded helplessness. Jeez, guys, we’d love to help you out, he assured jeering opposition MPs, but we just don’t have a spare copy. Truth is, we haven’t read the darn thing ourselves. Dirty Mounties haven’t given us the faintest idea what it was they were after.

HA. Duffy is a Conservative poodle? Right. Is that BC bud I smell?

Anonymous said...

Duffy is a Conservative poodle?

He was one of the few invited to yesterday's media event. How do you explain that?

hunter said...

Well someone from CTV had to be invited. Too bad CBC has no-one that is unbiased.

"Dirty Mounties haven't given us the faintest idea what it was that they were after"
They have repeatedly said they were not involved in the search so that is a complete lie.
It was an EC investigation, and the Mounties were only there to assist.

This whole smear job just turns my stomach. Over and over Jim Traverse and Don Newman tell us that ELections Canada is good and Conservatives are bad. Sometimes you wonder who they are trying to convince, us or themselves.
Are there no honest journalists out there with a conscience. For the future democracy of our country please speak up!!!

Yes, Hunter. They also stoled all teh Conservative monnees and kicked the dog two!

Retard.

It's nice to find out from the Duffinator's appology that Paul Martin is still alive. I mean we're paying him to be an MP, to perform his duties as an MP. But he's been AWOL. I've been worried. I thought perhaps he fell in a well or something. Clearly he's still around... somewhere... lawyers in tow, ready to pounch at the first mention of Adscam.

Dare I say the obvious: Elections Canada has fixed elections in the past for the LPC. (real conservative)

Go to Stephen Taylor's site for some more sanity. He has posted documents from both sides. Very interesting reading.

I still say the MSM has overblown this situation.

Good grief. The senate, the judiciary, the RCMP, Elections Canada, AECL, the media...is there any institution in this country that isn't part of a vast Liberal conspiracy? With the whole world out to get them, I'm amazed the Conservatives have strength to get out of bed in the morning. LOL.

Every single one of our institutions is under attack by these thugs.

I assume you are talking about the Libs? But then again the libs don't need to attack they already own.

hunter said...

Actually Red Canuck, don't include the RCMP in that list, they have morals. All the others listed, pretty much useless. What do they actually do to protect and help Canadians?

Anonymous said...

I assume you are talking about the Libs?
Why am I not surprised? I think it is pretty obvious from the context what I was talking about.

But reality never gets in the way over here does it?

Hahahahahahahaha!

Anon 6:08 says: "But reality never gets in the way over here does it?"

Well if by "over here" you mean enemy territory, go back and play in your own sandbox, where everyone will automatically agree with everything you say, as long as you use emotions to make your point.

"Over here", you will be challenged.

Petulance and sneering condescension are both emotional ways to express yourself. And it is in abundance here.

Note I said "to express yourself", not "make your point".

"Over here", you will be challenged.
I await this with interest, since it has not happened yet.

All I see so far is lame dissembling trying to explain how the CPC broke the law, apparently with the highest levels of the party in on it.

Not surprising from the party that has nothing but contempt for all of our institutions.

Can't wait for the debates, when we'll hear the immortal words Brian Mulroney won a landslide from.

"You had an option, Mr. Harper. If I may say so respectfully, you could have said no!"

Checkmate.

Liberals still owe taxpayers $40 million still missing from Adscam. It was used to influence an election.

As predicted by PMSH upon winning the 2004 Conservative leadership:

"The tired, old, corrupt Liberal party is cornered like an angry rat," he told the 1,500 assembled Conservatives.
"They are going to attack us like we have never been attacked before ... they will be this because it is the only way they can survive."

Anonymous said...

The Liberal Party of Canada was never investigated by Elections Canada for all that money that went into numerous* Quebec ridings?

Is this true?

Al

*a question still unanswered by both Paul Martin, and Stephane Dion.

hunter said...

Checkmate? Not by the Liberals, they are still playing checkers.

They still think they lost because of adscam, it helped, but it was the typical Liberal arrogance, the feeling that they are the "natural ruling" party who can do no wrong, that lost them the election and they still haven't figured it out.

Checkers, Anon 6:46, Liberals are playing checkers, not chess. Your leader has no clue, no plan, no vision, no policies, and no leadership. Must suck to be Liberal these days.

Anonymous said...

CBC covered this and implied the vote was 'bought' by election spending.
This is a joke.
Hands up if you made up your mind to vote based on an ad....
Libs and their friends at EC are still shocked that Canadians voted for the CPC.

wilson said...

Yes, that's true ardvark.
But until one of these genius Liberals does a little research, we'll keep the reason under wraps and keep bugging the h out of them over it.

Let the Liberals answer that question.
I love it when Liberals talk about Adscam.

hunter said...

Dare we mention Annie get our guns in Edmonton, a TV raffle in Sask, and Volpe getting donations from dead people? Did Elections Canada investigate any of those little gems? Cue the crickets.

wilson said...

Yah, the RCMP sunk the Liberals when they announced an investigation into Income Trusts, now the Cons stole Canada from the Liberals with media advertising buys.

They lost the election because they stink,
Mr. Dithers stunk,
their campaign stunk,
did they have any policies, or was it all fear and smear?

And 2 1/2 years later, attack after attack, and they are still scared s-less to bring down the government.

wilson said...

Pat Martin was absolutely over the top, on CTV today.
Anyone know how the EC investigation into Olivia Chow's riding went?

Anonymous said...

Booga, booga boo - they are all out to get us - boo hoo.

The Conservatives are being attacked by everyone.

They have places for people with this kind of paranoia - the walls are padded.

This is the saddest bunch of BS I think I've ever read.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget Volpe getting lunch money from kids because he inspired them.
EC has a whole laundry list they could have delved into but have to zero in on the Conservatives.

I still think that that so called "raid" was a set up.

hunter said...

frmgrl, Thanks for the link to Rutherford, it was pure gold.

A set-up? That's what I think too.

Anon 8:11, not everyone, we like the RCMP and the military. You know, people with common sense and a love of Canada. Socialist fleas, living off the hosts body, not so much!

Anonymous said...

Wait for the court case. The precedent was set when EC allowed this type of thing to happen in the past, and I am guessing a judge will see it that way as well.

For a party that is so angry about the cancellation of the court challenges program, which used taxpayer dollars to pay for legal challenges AGAINST the government, they sure seem to be against the conservatives using the courts to challenge things they disagree with.

This matter is now up to a judge to decide

hunter said...

Agreed Ardvark, but Elections Canada and the Liberals have moved it into the arena of public opinion. Any ruling by a judge now, will be too late, that's what the Liberals are counting on.

Why wasn't Rae's lawsuit covered? Why is it that Liberals can sue Elections Canada, and it's not a problem, but let the Conservatives do the same thing, and it's a major issue. Why wouldn't members of the committee allow ALL parties books to be opened? Who is the Liberal mole at Elections Canada. How many moles exist?

It won't be long now, before Stephen Harper's "I am not a crook" moment.
