UPDATE: Your Assignment If You Choose To Accept It!

Sandy over at Just Politics has had a great idea (H/T Catherine), let's get together to do a Truth Video, maybe called "The Prorogation Myths". So I am asking you to send me links to videos and radio broadcasts about proroguing Parliament both in favour or not, send me video links about the Afghanistan detainee affair and anything else you think has skewed the Conservative message on proroguing. Blatant bias by the media is good, newspaper quotes by MP's would be great.

What I ask is that you pre-screen the videos and articles for me. In other words, if it's a 9:00 minute video, tell me what segment to go to (ie watch from 3:00 to 3:20) so that I can cut down on the hours I spend editing these videos to get to the good stuff.

This gives everyone a chance to participate, not just comment on a blog. It's a Friday night, all the reporters have gone home for the weekend, so it's our turn to take over the communications industry. Look for interesting sources, like the House of Commons videos, are there any way back when Chretien was PM and he prorogued? How about the Hansards, anything good in those from way back when? Dig it up people, and send me what you find, what else are you doing tonight? HA! Citizen journalists, have fun!

UPDATE: Some great ideas are being discussed. One of the things I am not good at is photo shopping. So I would like you to put your talents to work and give me some photo shopped pictures of Iggy in France and Layton snorkeling in ?? and any other creative images you can think of, like MP's at the Olympics while the house is prorogued. Leave in comments or if you are shy, leave at my email hunterinalberta@hushmail.com.

How do you edit the videos? How do you download them, cut the parts out you like and assemble them into a new video and post?

Why should I tell you my secrets LS? Google it, that's what I did. But I do have a special program to grab the video, that's how I do all my question period videos.

Thanks Dr. Roy, I listened to those, they were great!

It's just technical information, no? Usually people will share what they know or at least provide a reference. It would fit with the values we keep hearing "conservatives" claim to have. But of course that is a lie. Your response fits with the reality of today's "conservatives. It certainly fits with your commenters who wish to shut people up by harming them financially. Since you can't win by argument, you need to find another way to make dissent go away.

It is most entertaining to watch the right wingers getting so worked up into a froth though. Should I say "must be striking a nerve", or something?

Hahahahahahahahaha!

I was looking for a pic of the PM kneeling at the Holocaust Museum, and checked out the inactive Conservative Reporter. She has some oldie but goodie videos including the March 9,2009 of the interview with Manbridge. Might be some good stuff there.

No LS, you are just a lazy troll.

My my hunter, getting a little angry aren't you?

You can try and tamp it down, but you have finally roused the grassroots, and they are against you.

LS, I NEVER get into it with you but I will argue, if all your guys can do is create offensive photoshops, we are not about to give away any trade secrets. Happy New Year, LS! ( I missed the Merry Christmas but I have never forgotten...cheers!)

hunter said...

Thanks frmgrl, that's what we need.

LS, get over yourself and the limp party you support. Go create a video of your own, if you can find out how.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Payback, it's so fun!

frmgal, can you post that link at NB Torygal FB page.

You just did.

but I will argue, if all your guys can do is create offensive photoshops, we are not about to give away any trade secrets.
You figure video cut and paste is now a "trade secret"? Really! But then, hunter slipped on the same banana. So much for the proverbial "hand up" you people always claim you want to give people.

I don't need to make videos. This blog and a few others provides so much material showing what phonies our "conservatives" are, and how they never live the values they claim to have. For example, some of you claim we should not have a welfare system, since the good hearted conservatives are so charitable on a voluntary basis that no government system is needed. You just proved that your "charity" has massive strings attached for even the simplest request for information. You would enjoy watching the destitute grovel for a few crumbs from you, and you would make certain they say the "politically right wing correct" things or they can starve and die for all you care.

Thanks for playing though, and yes, Happy New Year to you.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

MaryT, consider it done.

Trolls don't get hands up, when all they do is come to my house and shit all over it. That's when I clean house. Go sleep it off LS, I might let you back into my house in the morning.

So far, the big nationwide anti Harper prorogy 'planning' for the rally:

-Whitehorse, on Main st
-Mississauga, room #100 student center UofTM
-Thunder Bay, Lakehead U
-Peterborough, Beans Cafe
-Ottawa, Ottawa U
-Toronto, UoT

Not that I don't think it is just wonderful that the university youth of Ontario get involved in politics,
but until more than one province and one territory participate,
'national' rally, nah ?
But maybe there is more to come?

Wow, good. Seriously LS, what happened or have I been missing something?

Anyway Hunter, you are the girl for the job, thank you!

ps Chinook slated for down here, how are you guys doing?

For all those trying to inform us of prorogation via the 113,000 on fb, when you google prorogation, only abut 20,000 have done that.
Also, googling sitting days you get the calendar for whatever year you want, and the average sitting per session is 135 days.
When there are more than one session, as in Chretein term, that means there were proroguations between session, and he had 3 session during one term.
One of them was for about 5 months.
And will all those opposition mps give up their summer holidays in July, Aug, and most of Sept. Did they complain last summer, were they hard at work. And how about the year before during those months, or July/Aug/Sept 2010. Will they show up to work.
They can take over 60 days off during the summer, with no complaints, and probably go on vacation. But, 22 days in the dead of a horrible winter and all hell breaks out. Notice the PPG is usually absent during those months also, as are Power Play and Power and Politics. Why are they not demanding the mps get to work on the Country's business.
Hypergrits, every one of them.

Hansard says: only 20,000 hits re prorogation. Average sitting days of a session-135 days-
Each session of parliament is concluded by prorogation. Chretein had 3 session in one term, and one break lasted about 5 months.
By Sept of each year the calendar of sitting days for the coming year must be approved by the Speaker.
One can check out calendars of sitting days for the past 40 years.
At the end of each prorogation a new Speech from the Throne is presented.
Parliament has been prorogued 150 time in its history.
Parliament never sits during the summer, why aren't those hardworking libs upset, and will they show up during those months. Will there be protests in the streets.
Funny how all that garbage they have been spouting is coming back to bite them guess where.
I have to wonder what aces the PM has up his sleeve.
Someone even complained about his bridge opening today, should have done in on his perogies (not a misspelling) days.
Back to google to search for info on JC.

Why weren't the majority of liberal members of a committee re inquiry of sponsorship scandal not anxious to have the committee do its work aka the detainee thingy.
Fraser's report also sparked a parliamentary inquiry before the House of Commons Committee on Public Works. The committee's mandate was to determine who created the sponsorship program, whether ministers and bureaucrats followed parliamentary rules in conducting the program, and whether politicians broke the law. Problem is, the committee never got to complete its work.
This is the second inquiry they shut down, remember the Somali inquiry.

Much to the chagrin of the opposition parties, the Liberal majority on the committee voted to end its hearings in early May 2004 – weeks before the federal election called for June 28.

The RCMP were also involved, investigating allegations of fraud beginning in May 2002.

If the PM called in the RCMP during that election, how come they were investigating liberals in 2002.

And it looks like they are all inside. Wasn't there rallies in every Prov last year to protest the coalition. In bad weather. Nice to know this protest is mainly University students, they don't vote. Watch for signs protesting the seal hunt, global warming, and any other anti thing they can think of.
Might even be some hezzie flags there.

Mary T, the signatories of the face book sight, did not care about the definition or implementation of prorogation, they are activists.

Face book was originally started FOR University kids to network and has grown from THAT grassroots.

Joining a social networking site for US ADULTS, would not be a natural evolution unless eventually we wanted to stay in daily contact with computer savvy friends and family.

This movement, was most certainly generated at an University level and intended entirely to engage those children that are followers and not doers.

The doers are Conservatives.

Wonder if I should pull a Mallick act and say I am embarassed to be an Albertan as it was a young man from Edson that started all this. And he brags that he spoils his ballot. He is a graduate of the UofA with a degree in a field that will keep him employed for years, lol, he is an anthrapologist. I see wants ads every day for those. But I guess dealing with dead civilizations and people is not much different that supporting a dead political party.

One of the things I am not good at is photo shopping.
I'd be happy to help you if I was any good at it, since helping others even when I don't agree with their views, is just the liberal way. But I have no patience for tracing edges and making layers and alpha channels in photoshop. Nor am I very good at Premiere for video. I have some creative people on staff who are outstanding at both of these, but of course I can't lend them to you for free, especially given our current tight schedules.

So I would like you to put your talents to work and give me some photo shopped pictures of Iggy in France and Layton snorkeling in ?? and any other creative images you can think of, like MP's at the Olympics while the house is prorogued.
Wow, nice idea. Though it sounds a lot like like the contest to write "harper's voice mail message" while he's off sipping lattes. For some reason, the BT's consider that fun assignment as being stupid, juvenile and contemptible. I have no idea why, since obviously your original photoshopping opposition leaders idea couldn't possibly be childish, right?
