It's Time To Listen To Us...the Taxpayers!

Forget about the MSM, they are so biased that even my Liberal parents don't want us paying over $1 billion a year for the CBC anymore. Even Global Edmonton had a piece about proroguing Parliament, they went to a citizens ceremony and asked NEW Canadians what they thought....no, really they did! Born Canadians don't even have a clue what proroguing is let alone new Canadians. That's how low the MSM has to stoop, my respect for Gord Stenke just took a huge nosedive. Guess we won't switch from Fox News to watch Global local news anytime soon. Aren't they crying about local news coverage being cut? I won't feel bad anymore if that happens.

Forget the opposition, they are socialists who want everyone to be as miserable as they are. Have you ever known a happy, content lefty? They have no clue what Canadians think, want or feel. Wild hair greenie NDP MP Linda Duncan was at the ceremony, whining about not being able to work....duhhh lady, what were you doing at the ceremony than?

It's time to listen to US, you know the voters, and most importantly the TAXPAYERS!! Let the opposition whine and cry and stomp their feet about non-issues, we need to tell the governments, at every level what we want our money spent on.

You can make a good start at the federal level by going to this page, and giving them some ideas for the budget.

Consulting with Canadians

I already filled in my wish list, and top of the list is extending the Home renovation Tax Credit program!

This program is a win for everyone. The homeowner gets renovations done, which increases the value of their home, plus they get a tax credit. The trades get more work because homeowners are doing their renovations sooner than they might have. Businesses are getting more orders for everything from landscaping materials to new appliances. The government gets to DIRECTLY impact the taxpayer by giving them some of their money back. A new road is great, but taxpayers need to see some actual reward and this program provides it to them.

My second wish was that ALL charitable organizations, and lobby groups would get de-funded.

My third wish was for CBC to have to survive or die without the $1 billion a year from taxpayers. You would think that CTV and Global would like that to happen, but from the reporting of those stations, it appears that they are all one big lefty family.

My fourth wish was for no tax increases to get back into a balanced budget. If they just leave Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland alone, we will fill the federal coffers again. Also as civil servants retire, don't rehire.

It's time they listen to the taxpayers, but they can't hear you if you don't tell them what you think, so take the time to go to the budget site and tell them what you want. Remember 60% of Canadians are going to propose all those lefty free spending ideas, like environment, daycares, free university type issues while ignoring fiscal responsibility.

By "Born Canadians" do you mean born here?

BTW Canadians do care that Dear Leader is proroguing Parliament. Check out the Facebook page.

For someone who hates civil servants why doesn't it bother you that about 300 of them are getting a two month paid vacation? Be consistent, HUnter!

The opposition, or those fb signers would not like my suggestions. Agreed with yours and added a few, like cut funding drastically to all HRCs, and an audit of all money given to native reserves for the past several years. And I said to cut funding by 15% to all departments dealing with the government.
Said to cancel Suzuki's charitable status, and all NGOs.

Thanks for the heads-up! This is great that they asked for our input!!! I also filled in my form in great detail, using all the words available to address a whole range of issues. I did complement them on the new roads which make for safer driving.

Some of my wish lists were yours as well. I might know more about the PS, so had a lot to say re: how and where to cut overlapping government agencies, all staffed with expensive people at the top and highly over-paid starting clerks at the bottom. Look at the list of boards and agencies and departments - how many do not serve any useful function? How many overlap with the provinces? the regions? the cities? Co-ordination is VERY expensive.

The feds need to stick to knitting, and keep reminding the general public (who does not understand the Constitution) that education/health is a provincial matter etc.!

We want to get back to being a federation, as it it clear that the Provinces will always have diverse interests.

I also suggested that the $1.95 political fee be axed and that that we exempt provincial daycare and 4-year old kindergarten programs (nice try, McGuinty) from any calculations of transfer payments, as these are not national social programs.

Like you, I know that attrition with no incentive or replacement will do the down-sizing trick; years ago, a study showed that the PS has no problem with replacing executives, but they might face shortages in some tech/professional areas.

I also called for de-funding of all advocacy groups, no matter their stripes. I hear you about charities - maybe the list needs to be honed down to the "real ones", as the NFP sector is becoming totally unruly and I am thinking you are right. I would hate to cut off the Salvation Army, but your idea has a lot of merit, the more I think about it!

As well, given that the HST will kill the BC economy (over 60% service sector, so no benefit) in fall 2010 until whenever, I noted that we could not absorb any more taxes.

I also did a rant on maybe a moratorium on refugees, except for the ones we pick. Then we can round up the bad ones. No more (Tamils on the boat) or family immigrant wives (women brought from the home land who have a few pre-school Canuck kids and then are abandoned to low income support by you and I).

As well, I suggested no more spending and no extensions. If the regimes have too many regulations to get a project approved, no $!!! Love it!

I kind of like your extension for the reno program, but that would be a personal preference, not my idea of a great federal program, but then I am not much of a Keynesian. Neither is Harper, so this will end, unfortunately. It would be great for me as my street will be closed for the Olympics, so it is a race against the VANOC clock to get something finished/delivered here before Jan 15th!

Dude, it's over. Deal with it. We win!

Re: the home renovation program.

There may be another benefit in addition to the ones you listed. In order to get the tax credit, people need receipts. That means they have to get work done by workers who don't work under the table. That in itself means more tax revenue for the government - which, let's face it, it needs - because all those renovators will have to declare their income.

SQ, please inform us of the two month paid holiday. My info is the House will be prorogued from Jan 25, to March 3. As they never sit on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, get a calendar and count. It is about 22 days.
Quit spreading lies. The House was/is on Christmas break till Jan 25, a date agreed on by all MPs.
If so many are that ignorant, no wonder they click on join and have no idea what they are joining.

MaryT,

The Angry left strategy has been to spread lies. For years they have lied to Canadians about the hidden agenda. It is clear the angry left don't like people, they like policy.

Those are some great ideas for cuts.

New rules for citizens of convenience.
Absence of more than 3 consecutive years, or 5 out of 10 years, should mean suspension of citizenship with no benefits.

In the next 3 years, Canada will be facing a worker shortage.
Immigration should be given only to those with a job to come to.
Perhaps applications should be cross matched with the Provinces, so as immigrants don't just settle in big cities, but through out the country.
Speaking French or English BEFORE immigration is a must.
Conviction of a federal offense, particularly in the case of gangs and terrorism, shud mean automatic deportation, with a very shortened appeal process while the convict remains in jail.

Great ideas, and not one of them from that expert Drummond.
Media spouting no consultation re budget. Didn't iffy say it was not his job to assist (last year)
Still waiting for a reply from that person who can't count and is spreading lies re numbers of days of Prorogation.
Wonder what the reaction would be if the media told the truth. Liberals did it with majority govts.
Senate is going rouge, disrespecting rules, trying to dictate to Canadians. And they are liberal senators. Imagine if the libs were in power.
Time for the conservative war room to release the rest of that Layton tape re coalition.
Also, no conservative should go on any tv talk show.
PPG just upset they have nothing to write about so they make up lies. Kady is the worst of the worst. She thinks this is all her doing re the objections on fb.

Time for a truth ad on YouTube Hunter. Want to do one? I can help.

1) Get rid of the CBC completely.

2)Cut the bilingual bonus.

3)Cut equalization to Quebec, since they use it to fund $7.00 a day daycare and we pay in the rest of Canada $50.00 or more.

Just a few off the top of my head.

I just might have the time for that this weekend Sandy, good idea!

Now I need everyone (no not you trolls) to lead me to good videos that I can take some clips from for a video.

I don't think your priest will like that idea.

.
And they wonder why Steve can't get a majority, you just can't hide your true colours long enough.

I forgot to mention that they should cut all funding for bilingual programs, in area that are 98% english speaking. There are so many areas that could be cut in the civil service, mileage to and from work would be a start. Especially when 3-4 ride in one car and each puts in for mileage. (yes it happens) paying for civil servants to fly across the country for an interview for a position they have no intention of taking, or getting, just a free wk end in Ottawa or Vancouver or Montreal.
Bet we could balance the budget in 24 hours if given the opportunity.
There are supposedly 113,000 signed up who don't know the truth or wont admit it.

Okay, send me links to videos from CTV or where ever you find then so I can do a video this weekend. It takes me hours to find them myself, so if you can help that would be great! Even better would be pointing me to the time frame (ie watch from 5:05 to 5:20) so that I don't have to watch hours of irrelevant video.

We are doing a truth video for You tube people so send me all your best Liberal/NDP truths!

maryT said...

Why not, I know that a good majority of donations to my Church are never claimed on taxes. No one needs to know what I give to any organization.
You have to send in the receipts and I don't want anyone giving out that info.
I also know a lot of contributions to political parties are not claimed.
That is the difference between us and them. They do it for deductions, we do it because we believe in the cause.
Another program cut today, funding for lifelong learning.

maryT said...

Not being utube savy, I would hope this video has timelines of the PMs announcement to prorogue and time line of when the news of the troops deaths hit the airways. Then there is Volpe complaining he can't ask a question as the House is shut down with timeline, followed by the PM saying it doesn't start till Jan 25.
Should also include the gal organizing the protest admitting she is a card carrying NDPer and sits on a NDP constituency board.
And the date of the protest while the House is on Christmas break.
It would be great if you could find the QP motion setting the date for the Christmas break.
Could do another video re being at work, showing an almost empty opposition benches during important business. Especially if Iggy is not there.

liberal supporter said...

That is illegal.
Thought so.

maryT said...

Guess I have to explain those donations are not claimed on tax returns. It is not illegal to not claim a legitimate deduction. Just don't want anyone to know who they support.

You mean you are concerned about CRA giving out information? That is illegal.

On the other hand, political contributions are public knowledge.

maryT said...

LS, guess you haven't heard of all the tax files left in some garbage bags, or the cra employees charged with theft. Yes, donations are public knowledge, but a receipt with a name on it is not the same as a receipt in your tax return.
I don't think you have any idea of the personal info on same. And those files go with whoever buys a tax prep company. How do you think BreX found all those seniors with investment income to scam. They bought a tax prep company, and all past files of clients.
Lots of libs work at Rev Canada and have tenure.

When you use the phrase "labor shortage" or "skills shortage" you're speaking in a sentence fragment. What you actually mean to say is: "There is a labor shortage at the salary level I'm willing to pay." That statement is the correct phrase; the complete sentence and the intellectually honest statement.

Some people speak about shortages as though they represent some absolute, readily identifiable lack of desirable services. Price is rarely accorded its proper importance in their discussion.

If you start raising wages and improving working conditions, and continue doing so, you'll solve your shortage and will have people lining up around the block to work for you even if you need to have huge piles of steaming manure hand-scooped on a blazing summer afternoon.

And if you think there's going to be a shortage caused by employees retiring out of the workforce: Guess again: With the majority of retirement accounts down about 50% or more, most people entering retirement age are working well into their sunset years. So, you won’t be getting a worker shortage anytime soon due to retirees exiting the workforce.

Some specialized jobs require training and/or certification, again, the solution is higher wages and improved benefits. People will self-fund their re-education so that they can enter the industry in a work-ready state. The attractive wages, working conditions and career prospects of technology during the 1980’s and 1990’s was a prime example of people’s willingness to self-fund their own career re-education.

There is never enough of any good or service to satisfy all wants or desires. A buyer, or employer, must give up something to get something. They must pay the market price and forego whatever else he could have for the same price. The forces of supply and demand determine these prices -- and the price of a skilled workman is no exception. The buyer can take it or leave it. However, those who choose to leave it (because of lack of funds or personal preference) must not cry shortage. The good is available at the market price. All goods and services are scarce, but scarcity and shortages are by no means synonymous. Scarcity is a regrettable and unavoidable fact.

Shortages are purely a function of price. The only way in which a shortage has existed, or ever will exist, is in cases where the "going price" has been held below the market-clearing price.

Liberals and their left leaning media are complicit and dishonest.

They were in Iraq.

"In an almost schizophrenic way, the government bragged publicly about its decision to stand aside from the war in Iraq because it violated core principles of multilateral-ism and support for the United Nations. At the same time, senior Canadian officials, military officers and politicians were currying favour in Washington, privately telling anyone in the State Department or the Pentagon who would listen that, by some measures, Canada's indirect contribution to the American war effort in Iraq — three ships and 100 exchange officers — exceeded that of all but three other countries that were formally part of the coalition."
