It depends on who you listen to I guess. My American friend never did vote for him, so her opinion hasn't changed much, she still doesn't like him much.
It appears that others in the US are shifting their opinions, and the "blame Bush" strategy is back:
Desperate for Edge in Election Year, Dems Turn to Old Strategy
With the congressional GOP poised for a comeback in the 2010 midterm elections, Democrats are dusting off an old playbook, using George W. Bush as their boogeyman and castigating Republicans as cozy with Wall Street.
House Democrats began an ad campaign in December assailing Republicans for opposing legislation restructuring federal financial rules and recalling the final days of the Bush presidency, when the economy tanked.
Kelly McParland: Twelve months in, Obama's still standing
Put the expectations to one side for a moment, and what has Obama achieved? He's within an ace of getting a national healthcare program finally put in place. He managed to halt the death spiral of the U.S. economy (which a year ago had many now-cocky critics rending their garments and pleading for salvation from a merciful God) just before impact. He's overseen a departure -- not a retreat -- from Iraq and refocussing on Afghanistan, where primary attention should always have been. The most interesting part of this post is one of the comments:

Did you actually write this column with a straight face Mr. McParland? Many Americans now realize they were scammed and made a horrible mistake in electing B. Hussein Obama. Obama is an Alinskyite, Chicago community organizer, who's never held a real job or run anything in his life, and cheated his way into public office. Obama is intent on remaking the US into his version of a weak, European style, socialist state. He's now racked up more debt than all other presidents preceding him, and his $767Billion stimulus package is nothing more than a Democrat slush fund. Obamacare is going to be outright dangerous for millions of US seniors, and there has been nothing less than a three ring circus of bribery and secretive malfeasance in trying to obtain enough Senate votes to push it through. Led by David Axelrod and Rahm Emmanuel, two Chicago political thugs, this is one of the most corrupt administrations ever seen in the White House.
The economic crash had it's roots in Jimmy Carter's "Community Reinvestment Act", and the Clinton administration's threats of legal action against banks and mortgage lenders who didn't give loans to people who had no chance of repaying them. That's when all the ABCP's appeared as the money lenders tried to get something back on the loans they issued and everything went to hell. Left on it's own, the market would likely have taken care of it's problems without any government intervention. This crash was a gift for Obama and his rat pack.
The health care package is a government takeover of one-sixth of the economy, Obama had no right to take over GM and give Chrysler to the UAW. Obama is in deep debt to ACORN and unions, especially the SEIU whose president, Andy Stern, has been the most frequent White House guest. His expansion of government is unprecedented, and some of his "czarist" appointees are people of dubious reputations and radical ideology. Every time Obama travels out of the country he pisses on the U.S. by making apologies for past actions, prostrates himself to foreign leaders, panders to Islamic nations, and weakens America's position in the world. Obama is narcissistic, cold, and detached, his delayed reactions to recent acts of terrorism are appalling, I believe him to be a sociopath because of his dysfunctional childhood, and mentoring at the hands of leftist radicals.
Veteran "Village Voice" writer Nat Hentoff said "Obama may be the most dangerous and destructive president in U.S. history." Democrats like Nancy Pelosi scream epithets of unpatriotic, anti-American, and racist, at anyone who dares disagree with their brand of totalitarianism, they label opposition as right-wing extremists and grassroots organizations as "astroturf." With their control of the three branches of government they are intent on ramming through as much of their radically leftist agenda as possible before the 2010 mid-term elections, where they are no doubt facing a tsunami of defeat.
Americans left, right, and centre, are waking up to the hip, cool, fraudster of the 2008 election and they are angry as they see the great imposter attempting to destroy the U.S. Constitution and the country it created. Obama is dangerous not just to the U.S., but to the whole world. I'll bet there are many who now wish they'd gotten off their butts and voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
If anyone truly wants to understand the ideology driving the "progressive" American left, they should read Jonah Goldberg's excellent book "Liberal Fascism, The Secret History of the American Left, from Mussolini to the Politics of Change." This book is highly relevant for Canadians.
That comment is pretty much on the money. How is Obama doing? It depends on what you read and what your prospective is. I leave you tonight with this interesting song:

Amen brother!
Holy.
I could have done without the "Joe the Plumber" reference, but it's good to see Ray Stevens still up and about.
I'm just surprised to see him take such a strong stand. (I also partially disagree with him.)
I have been banished from Unamdubiously Ambivalent’s web site. Oh the humanity! I was not even able to respond to his ridiculous statement that we should murder Hollywood. Come on, I know that I am not someone to lecture on hyperbole, but sanctioned murder of our brilliant apostles? That's a bridge too far.
Obama needs to update his enemies' list. He should add jihad terrorists, Iran, North Korea and the blatant cronyism and feather bedding of the Democrats. This blame game is not going to have a happy ending. I predict that when there is a successful terrorist strike in America, the failure will be a direct result of willful blindness and the pc attitudes of this administration. There will be hell to pay. Cheers, I think.
You should really think twice about reprinting that slanderous comment by DavidL48. He has nothing to back up ANY of his accusations.
The only one "detached" here, is DavidL48. And that is completely detached from reality.
SQ - you puzzle me. You come down on Hunter if she refuses to publish an offensive comment and you accuse her of stifling free speech and dissent. DavidL48 expresses his opinion - and not in a slanderous manner - and you think that Hunter should not have published it? Let's try to be consistent - either support Hunter's discernment as blog host or go for complete and total freedom of expression. We cannot tailor free speech to suit your needs.
Read the Friday funnies - comparing conservatives to liberals. You've just fallen right into the definition of a liberal.

Que?
Re:"I'll bet there are many who now wish they'd gotten off their butts and voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin."
That's a laugh.
McCain perhaps, Palin not so much.
