Globe and Mail, Caught Red-Handed!

Talk about playing with polls to get the results you want. By chance I blogged on this poll at the Globe and Mail last night. Here were the results at the time of my post:

I'm I the only on who thinks this way? It appears, not.

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
99% 12609 votes
12609 votes

No
1% 164 votes
164 votes

I have never seen a Globe and Mail poll at 99% agreement.

So, that was Sunday, now that same poll is still up at the Globe and Mail with the following results showing:

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
73% 8963 votes
8963 votes

No
27% 3285 votes
3285 votes

So, what happening from Sunday night to Monday? How did the yes side lose 3,646 votes? How did 12,609 votes on Sunday night get REDUCED to 8,963 on Monday, after two full days of polling?? So, they wiped out 3,646 votes and that's counting all the people who clicked yes today. What's up with that?

The Globe and Mail, caught red-handed playing with the polls. Who would have guessed.

Final update; it appears the lost votes have been found, and counted. Makes me go HUMMMM! The poll jumped about 10,000 votes all of a sudden, in a few hours, from 8963 to the final count of 17196?

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
80% 17196 votes
17196 votes

No
20% 4321 votes
4321 votes

Updated at 12:10 my time. Doesn't really matter, we have a perfect example of lies, more lies, and polls.

Did you send them an email calling/questioning them on it?

No, they obviously don't care. It really shows how meaningless those on-line polls are.

Perhaps it might be more effective to point this out to their competitors. I'm sure other papers and news agencies would love to run with that story.

If they're gonna stoop so low as to manipulate a meaningless web poll what else might they be manipulating to suit their agenda?

Hello? Hello?

Manipulation is the name of their game. Take a look at some of their stories.

Maybe they found someone pounding away on their keyboard in the basement, and revised the votes, but I have seen this before, by tomorrow it will be a close race.

It really is pathetic, and as frmgrl says manipulative.

Can they just stop MAKING the news, and start reporting it instead?

They do the same thing when they poll Canadians regarding the Tories and Liberals. They publish the polls that Canadians are not feeling "warm" for Harper.... They have questions!!.... The only questions are their polls...
They are all liberals - 4 of the top 5 executives of the Globe and Mail are liberal supporters.... All their reporters are liberals... Gloria Galloway is married to Dion's chief stragetist.... on and on... They print news stories.. and they have paid staff to start all the comments off on a negative note hoping everyone will follow suit... The conservative Government have their own polls and they are sure not like the Globe and Mails, and the ones the Globe tried to "stuff" down our throat.... Think about it... when an election is called... will the Globe and Mail be able to follow Dion around and cover his gaffs!... Don't think so.... people see and more and more are seeing just what The Globe is about... and it isn't very accurate. They are only hurting themselves... because the truth is coming out now!...

Just as bad as the Nanos poll,s asking everyday if you are going to vote for Dion.Or who is better Dion or harper and then you get a free laptop.LOL they take us for fools and anyone who believes any of these polls is a bigger fool and living in a dream world. The only poll that is true is on election day.
