LeBlanc Knocked Out by Pierre

Boxing is a sport. Pierre is floating like a butterfly, and stinging like a bee. (Yes, corny, but true). He's a pesky guy, Liberals don't like him much because he is like a terrier, they don't let go of their prey, and they shake the guts out of them. Kind of like this:

What amazes me is how the Liberals can get up day after day in the House, without being embarrassed. LeBlanc is a prime example, he actually had to change his Elections Canada claims, but that's okay? He just shrugs it off and continues to smear the Conservatives. Speaking of smear, how is that Mulroney/Schrieber thingy going Liberals? How is that Cadman, Naftagate, Smearanything Conservativegate going? Cue the crickets.

One, Two Knockout Punch!

Well, it seems that Elections Canada is suffering the same fate as the Human Rights Commissions, a light is being shone on them, and they are climbing back into the dark. HA!

One, two knockout punch by PM Harper and Poilievre. PM Harper sets it up, and Pierre blasts it out of the ballpark.

I think a few opposition members had to quickly change their questions because they were guilty of exactly what they are accusing the Conservatives of doing.

Pierre trounced LeBlanc today, seems that LeBlanc had an "in out" of his own. (Or is that on his own?) Yeah, I know, but I couldn't resist. At least I didn't swear, and break my own rules!

Point: The PM talks about Elections Canada not following the rules, and then AFTER question period, Pierre stands on a point of order, and gives more details.

Elections Canada clearly didn't want to appear at the discovery hearing, and so they raided the Conservative headquarters the day before they had to appear, with Liberal cameras at the ready, very fishy.

They screwed up big time, they broke their own rules. In their rush to accuse the Conservatives of wrong doing, they did wrong themselves.

I can't wait for Elections Canada to explain this in a court of law, not the court of Liberal media. Going to get some beer and popcorn, let the show begin.

His Only Crime Is Hypocrisy!

Pierre Poilievre had a star appearance today in Question Period, he slammed Duceppe, Layton, and saved the best for Liberal MP Belanger. All opposition parties are looking desperate these days. Wonder what they heard in their ridings?

Pierre did a great job, he called the opposition parties out on their own little, in and out schemes. He called out the Liberals for doing the same thing the Conservatives are fighting Elections Canada about. The opposition should be joining with the Conservatives on this issue, because next election the rules will be the same, but the spotlight will be on ALL parties.

The Bloq is totally useless, why are they even in the House? They have no reason to exist anymore, and Quebec is waking up to that realization. The Bloq can not do anything for Quebec, they will never have access to federal funds, and Duceppe is left with trying to create scandals, just like the Liberals and NDP. Layton was in full cry today, crying about something the NDP has done themselves.

The funniest was the Liberals, trying to talk economics. Have they forgotten that our PM just happens to be an economist? Does Dion seriously think he can go toe to toe with PM Harper on the economy, especially when Dion is talking about implementing a carbon tax? Is someone giving Dion bad advise on purpose? Read the comments at CTV, seems the average voter is not as dumb as Dion thinks they are, bad news for the Liberals. Better hurry on over to a Tamil Tiger fund raiser.

Rescue Needed Again!

I could understand the people of Kashechewan wanting to stay in their community, if it was safe, but living in a flood area makes no sense. Yet they voted to stay, and 200 million will be spent to help them stay in that flood zone. Will it stop the flooding? Not unless they have a direct line to God.

Airlift of flood-threatened Ont. residents resumes

Evacuations of two flood-threatened northern Ontario communities have resumed after a weather delay.

About 1,100 people remained in Kashechewan after successful evacuations began, the community chief said Sunday. 130 of the sick and elderly have already been transported out of the community to Greenstone.
.......

Kashechewan is facing its fourth evacuation since 2004, but this is the first such threat to Fort Albany.

The federal government will be spending $200 million to improve the community's infrastructure. A $500-million plan to move the entire community to higher ground was rejected as too expensive.

Hold it Canadian Press, that's not quite right. Who rejected the move? Let's see.

In March leaders of the northern Ontario reserve, including Solomon, traveled to Ottawa to press the federal government to develop a long-term plan for their community.

The reserve, located on the west coast of James Bay, sits on a flood plain and residents have been evacuated twice in recent years because of flood threats and during every spring thaw they live with the stress their homes could be wiped out by floods, the leaders said.

So, "they live with the stress their homes could be wiped out by floods", and what do they do when the federal government offers to relocate them close to Timmins, where they would be close to medical centers, schools, and their houses would be safe?

A report to Ottawa last fall suggested Kashechewan be moved about 450 kilometres south to Timmins.

But the Cree band conducted its own survey that found residents wanted to stay within the band's traditional boundaries and move 35 kilometres up the Albany River, not to Timmin

Taxpayers were not asked if they wanted to spend 200 million to relocate them, we have no say, so the band will stay on the flood plain, and we will pay for their bad choices. Can someone knock some sense into them? Why would they want to stay on a flood plain? And if they do, why is the taxpayer expected to pay for them?

Kashechewan is a disaster, made so by their own people refusing to change.

Are Jails For Rehabilitaion Or Punishment?

It struck me this morning that even though all major cities are suffering from increased stabbings and gun violence, the east and west really differ on what they think should be done about it.

In the east, we hear about banning guns as the solution. This is the politically acceptable method of dealing with violent gun crimes, blame the guns not the criminal. If this succeeds, next we will be banning knives...

Toronto mayor asks for signatures coast to coast to compel Ottawa to legislate the disarming of everyone but the police

In a statement yesterday, Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day noted handguns are already banned in this country except for a few legitimate purposes, a category that includes police officers, target shooters and approved collectors. Miller wants to see the ban extended to target shooters and collectors.

In the west, we hear about bringing back the death penalty. This is very politically incorrect, blaming and making the criminals responsible, not the instrument (guns, knives, golf clubs, ropes) they use in the crime.

From the comments section in the Edmonton Sun:

Capital punishment (or prison time) isn't meant to just be a deterrent, but a punishment. Prisons don't exist solely to scare people from lives of crime and some people do not deserve the option of rehabilitation, assuming it would work anyway.

C. James

(Some are incorrigible.)

I would like to ask letter-writer Vince Leonty if he can provide one name of a murderer who was executed who reoffended. I, for one, think the death penalty does work.

Bill Kushniryk

(Zero rate of reoffending.)

To Vince Leonty: The death penalty does deter that person from murdering again. Over the past years, many people (153 according to Time magazine) are killed by previous killers who are out on bail or parole. At first, people would get a life sentence. Then it was only 25 years. Now we have the faint-hope clause. If we don't have the will to kill these people, at least see that they never see the outside again. That would have saved these 153 victims.

Bob Taylor

(A life sentence should be for life.)

I have to agree with John Symington about drastic measures that should be taken with drug dealers. But a segregated town isn't the answer. Zero tolerance is. If you're a drug smuggler, you should get an instant death penalty following your trial. Dial-a-dopers who sell to young people? Prison for life! If you have a gun in your car to look cool to your homies as you deal death, you get what the smugglers are sentenced to.

Don Meadows

(You'd be one tough judge!)

Why are innocent people being murdered on our city streets? I think it is time to bring back capital punishment. Was capital punishment removed because innocent people were being locked up and then executed? I would say that the number of innocent people who are being murdered outweigh the mistakes that may happen in wrongful convictions. If you commit a murder, then the same thing should happen to you - within a month.

Jason Bernarth

(How would you feel if you were wrongly convicted?)

That is the great divide between the east and the west. Do nothing bans and gun registries, or actual punishment for crimes.

Sign a petition to ban already banned guns, or make the criminals actually pay for their actions? Which one do you choose?

Money For Nothing.

I’ve been busy all day, so I have no clue what is deemed to be important by the media today. I was going to go to a bunch of newspaper sites to find an article I wanted to blog about, but then I realized, I don’t believe them, why should I blog about the articles they produce?

I agree with linking to an article that supports your point, or that you disagree with, but if every blog links to the same article, we are not encouraging free thinking, we are simple parroting the media we proclaim to disagree with.

So, from my discussions with my Brother In Law who works in Fort McMurray, comes this little discussion provoking item.

The Alberta boom has attracted mainly young men aged 18 to 30, with little education, who are making over $100,000 a year. This has attracted young females to the area. That is how it should be, except, many of these young females are preying on those males. Yes, females can be predators, think of the lioness. These females are purposely getting themselves pregnant, then they go back home, claim welfare as single Moms, and still expect the “father” to support them. They have the best of both worlds, they get money from the government and money from the “father”.

When my brother in law mentioned the huge numbers of young females in the Fort, I thought it was great, until he informed me of the tricks being used by these women to get pregnant so they could claim welfare. Plus they are milking the “fathers” for support. These women don’t want to get married, they don’t need to. Money for nothing and the tricks are free.

Why bother importing "dancers", when our own Canadian women are filling a gap up in the Fort?

A Rant on McCain, Obama, and Hillary

You can't avoid hearing about the Presidential candidates these days, here is one American's take on who to vote for, and why. I don't know who wrote this, but they don't pull any punches. It's a good rant, opinion piece.

After long and serious thought, I have decided to endorse Senator John McCain for President. I have always voted for the person and have not voted for anyone because some political party was telling me for whom I should vote.

We all know the choices by now and, that said, I do believe that the process of selecting a chief executive is deeply flawed. The words "money" and "special interests" come to mind, among many others.

Here's the way I see it:

Barack Obama, you are a fine public speaker. You are also an extremely liberal Senator from the State of Illinois which has a long and rich history of political corruption of the first magnitude. You are indeed a child of that system.

You have finally insulted my intelligence far beyond my capacity to tolerate your insults. It has nothing at all to do with your skin color. As a matter of fact, it would be so COOL to finally have an African-American for President. What a great statement that would be to the entire world that we are indeed the greatest country on earth!

But, unfortunately, General Colin Powell is not running, and YOU are NOT the man for this job!

Mr. Obama, you want me to believe that you have never heard the sermons of your own pastor, the Right Reverend "G-- D--- America" Jeremiah Wright. It is a matter of record that this has been your church for over 20 years. It is a matter of record that you were married there by this very pastor, and that your children were baptized there.

The good Reverend saw fit to visit Khadafy in Libya with you and to give a lifetime achievement award to Louis Farrakhan, of all people.

We have all now seen excerpts of his sermons all over the airwaves by now. And you have publicly stated that this man IS your "spiritual mentor".

BUT, your pastor is NOT the reason I am NOT voting for you. His words were disturbing enough, but it is your own HUGE church congregation, seen jumping, hooting and howling to his words in the background that disturb me the most. And please don't tell me you attended church there and never once heard a "discouraging word" in the 20 years you attended there. Don't tell me, that in addition to the good reverend, that you are now not having anything to do with all those other people seen hooting and howling out in the audience in the background of his fiery tirades.

Even Oprah Winfrey got disgusted and walked out. I am no Oprah fan, but still she did the right thing.

Now YOU look me in the eye and ask me to believe that you never heard such language in all the years you attended there! This is like my telling you that I attended dozens of Klan rallies and never once heard the "N" word. Yep. And Bill Clinton "did not inhale".

Yes, Mr. Obama, we all have friends who have said stupid things that embarrassed us, but NOW you have asked me to believe something that is so incredibly stupid that you are telling me that I am just stupid enough to believe you. THAT is the main reason that I will never vote for you. I am deeply regret that in a county teeming with enormously talented African Americans who would might make a good President, the political system has chosen YOU. You are a pathetic and plastic excuse for an American who will not even salute the Flag during the Pledge of Allegiance. God forbid you ever get near the Oval Office.

Now, did I mention Bill Clinton?

AH YES! This brings us to MRS. WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON, who this candidate really is, in spite of all the other names she may care to call herself. This "feminist" piece of work of course would like to be referred to as MS. and we all know who wears the pants suit in the family.

MS. Clinton, it is just as depressing to realize that there are dozens of women who would also might make great a President. But, unfortunately, the horrible state of the selection process has selected YOU. Ms. Clinton, I'm sorry, but you could not tell the truth even if water boarded.

Still you play the role of the "embarrassed but dignified noble wife". What utter malarky! I am not voting for you for a world of reasons, but the main one is the same as my not voting for Senator Obama. You persistently insult my intelligence. It COULD be conceivably possible that you did not know about Monica Lewinsky, extremely remote, but possible if we stretch our imaginations a bit. But you turn around and then ask me to believe that you also did not know about Paula Jones and the legion of other women who were chewed up and spit out by your lecherous excuse for a husband. Puleese turn off this broken record !!!

But let's set aside your hubby's flagrant peccadilloes. The real reason I will never vote for you is that I don't think the country can survive EIGHT MORE YEARS of Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Sandy Berger stuffing his socks with classified intelligence, Janet Reno's goon squad, and the myriad other corruptions that seem to stick to you like glue. So our former President can't keep his ##### in his pants. The REAL issue is that he committed perjury under oath when he lied about it and the pathetically-attempted cover up that followed.

Like you, he is totally incapable of telling the truth. He could not do it if you tortured him, and in voting for you, we would get the BOTH of you, all over again. The same folks who could have taken out Osama Bin Laden over 3,000 dead Americans ago !

And please stop telling me that you have "8 years of experience" to lead us. You were the freakin' first lady already, not the Commander in Chief. Jeez ! The sum of your "experience" is that of the most worrisome and incompetent meddling in the history of the White House. You even cursed your pitiful staff and the Secret Service agents who were and still are unfortunately charged with risking their lives to protect your worthless, thieving hide, and all at the expense of other people who have to work for a living.

Your single pathetic platform is to finance the illegal drugs, alcoholism and bad habits of the very lowest and most irresponsible freeloaders in America and to then "garnish the wages" (your own words) of every law-abiding and hard-working American to pay for it. This disaster you refer to as "Universal Health Care". Where have you been the last 30 years? Did you not see that socialism is a failure wherever it has been tried? Did you not notice that the Soviet Union has collapsed since it gave no reward to those who worked the hardest for the fruits of their own labors to pay for those who will not??

It is interesting to see all the dead bodies that you and your hubby have left in your wake. Suicides, mysterious deaths, cover-ups that make Richard Nixon look like a rank amateur. The utter contempt and unbelievable arrogance of some of your strongest supporters, most notably the recently resigned and disgraced Governor Eliot Spitzer, the epitome of hypocritical and malevolent arrogance gone wild, one of your most ardent, wealthy and powerful political supporters. A man the news media refuses to admit IS a "super delegate" in your own political machine, a fine example of your own "adopted" state of New York .. No wonder you moved there to run for Senator ! The environment there is perfect for the likes of you !

Yes, I would vote for a woman, but I will NOT vote for YOU !

Which leaves us with Senator John McCain.

John, you are a flawed man. You are a bit old, a bit looney, and you have a notoriously bad temper. This perfectly qualifies you, in my humble opinion, to lead us for the next eight years. I WANT your trembling hand on the nuclear button.

Think about it.

We have Kim Jong IL, Chavez and Ahmadenijad all running around like lunatics, threatening America and threatening to plunge the world into nuclear Armageddon. We have Putin and the Chinese blustering and rattling their sabres at us. I want John McCain in the Oval Office and I want him to be really pissed off at all these other nut jobs around the planet.

John, once you are elected, I want you to go into the Oval Office and throw one of your perfect FITS. Jump up and down and throw something through a plate glass window. Rip the drapes down and foam at the mouth a bit. And I want the whole thing on camera so that Ahmadinejad can see it. I want ALL of these "world leaders" to lay awake at night and to break out in a cold sweat every time they think of messing with the United States of America ..

I want the nuclear button sitting right next to the alarm clock on your night stand. I want pictures of this to be sent to Iran , Russia , China , Venezuela , Cuba , Libya , Syria , Pakistan , and those other a%$holes in the sheets, the Saudis.

On the domestic front, poor John did try and reach across the aisle to the opposition in a desperate effort to compromise and to get the Congress to do something. You may not agree with his efforts, but at least he TRIED. For all his efforts, all he got handed to him was his head in a basket. The liberals are pissed at him and the conservatives are pissed at him. Just my kinda guy.

I predict that John will select Senator Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Good choice. I want a JEW whose memory of the Holocaust is still fresh in his mind and who is royally pissed off at all of these towel-headed morons in the Middle East to be the next in line if something should happen to John. Shalom, Vice President Joe. One heartbeat from the Oval Office.

Finally. John McCain knows on a most personal level what it is to suffer horrible torture for years and to see others die, right in front of you, for their love of America .. When you ask him about it, he will tell you that what he did was "nothing special". Even more incredibly, he states that ANY American who truly loves his country would do exactly the same as he did in that situation. You and I will have a hard time believing that, but the real point is that John McCain believes that about the "average American", and that, dear friends and neighbors, is why I will cast my one poor ballot for on election day for John McCain -- warts and all

Friday Funny 2: Hookers and Unions

Seeing as strippers are legal, why not hookers? (Or are they the same thing?)
We are told by lefties that hookers would be better off if prostitution was legalized. We know pressure is being applied to Minister Finley to let more "dancers" into the country. We all know how unions support this, but would they, if they knew about this?

A dedicated Teamsters union worker was attending a convention in Las Vegas and decided to check out the local brothels. When he got to the first one, he asked the Madam, "Is this a union house?"

"No," she replied, "I'm sorry it isn't."

"Well, if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?"

"The house gets $80 and the girls get $20," she answered

Offended at such unfair dealings, the union man stomped off down the street in search of a more equitable, hopefully unionized shop. His search continued until finally he reached a brothel where the Madam responded, "Why yes sir, this is a union house.

We observe all union rules."

The man asked, "And if I pay you $100, what cut do the girls get?" "The girls get $80 and the house gets $20."

"That's more like it!" the union man said.

He handed the Madam $100, looked around the room, and pointed to a stunningly attractive blonde.

"I'd like her," he said.

"I'm sure you would, sir," said the Madam. Then she gestured to a 92-year old woman in the corner, "but Ethel here has 67 years seniority and according to union rules, she's next."

Sorry, I'm bored tonight waiting for a Brother In Law to arrive, and I don't want to get into any serious issues on a Friday. If he doesn't arrive soon, I might have to entertain you all with Friday Funny 3....yah, I know, you are hoping he arrives....oh is the the doorbell I hear....false alarm. HA. Enjoy!

Update: Seems the TTC is going on strike, with all that free time, will they be visiting Vegas? Just asking.

Friday Funny: A Dog, Cat and Rat!

This kind of reminds me of Harper, Layton and Dion. Guess who's who!

And how I'm feeling today:

Snapdragons,
part of me has snapped,
and the rest of me is dragging.

Have a great Friday night!

Let Go or Lock Up?

Activists are getting away with too much because of political correctness. You don't dare arrest these idiots because it would look bad politically. I saw lock em up.

Protesters disrupt Stelmach's fundraising dinner

The Canadian Press

EDMONTON -- As protests go, the timing couldn't have been better.

Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach was just about to deliver an anti-Greenpeace message to a Tory fundraising dinner Thursday, when two Greenpeace activists dropped from the ceiling with a large anti-Stelmach banner.

Talk about the "Canadian Press" crowing. Who are you "Canadian Press"? Two people and another one in the crowd? What juvenile antics. The security firm should also be hung out to dry, how did this incident happen?

The punchline of the premier's speech was how he was planning trips to southern California and central Europe later this year to dispel the Greenpeace message that rapid oilsands development is creating an environmental disaster.

The PUNCHLINE? What a biased piece this is from our mystery "Canadian Press", who is the Nimrod who wrote this article?

This incident should be treated as a serious assault on the Premier of Alberta. This should not be treated as a joke, just because they are part of Greenpeace, or any other activist group. This is despicable behaviour by people who think their cause is more important than the safety of our Premier.

So they got the attention they wanted, I doubt they will get any donations from Alberta residents anytime soon. Maybe we should counter protest these groups by strangling their funding.

This was not funny, this was very upsetting, this was a university style stunt. Grow up you idiots, no one cares about your causes any more because of antics like this.

"We're certainly not going to leave it to Greenpeace or the Sierra Club, because at the end of the day they're not accountable to anybody.''

Exactly, they are not accountable to anybody. They should have been locked up.

Please Sir, May I Have Some More?

Funny, I thought I was reading an article about Canada teetering on the brink of a recession, then I read the comments. Talk about the great divide, the old east versus west argument, the old my province is better than your province discussion. Can we get rid of the old and get on with the new?

Yes, I'm from Alberta, born and raised, lived here all my life, but my husband is from PEI, and most of my family has moved to BC, so it really bugs me when Canadians can't get along. My son just came back from a school visit to Montreal and Quebec City, he loved it! (especially because Quebecers took pity on him and spoke English) The biggest thing he noticed, how clean both cities were, not the language difference. So, why the great divide? He didn't notice it, why do we adults?

It all starts with this comment, and then goes downhill from there.

alberta#1
As Ontarians keep getting laid off, get on EI, and use up their savings to make ends meet, they should sell their homes there in Ontario before it's too late and move to Alberta.
In Alberta we have a labour crisis. There are "for hire" signs everywhere, home prices came down 15% in the last year and we have very little taxes...

Living in Beautiful British Columbia
A comment for those that live in Alberta. Remember your oil is eventually dry up and soon you will have nothing left to boost about. Becareful what you say now, for when your time comes, the rest of the country will laugh right back at you.

Charles
Hey Alberta get off your high horse you time is coming.

It is time to change the Government and let the Liberals get our economy back on track before the Conservatives George Bush our economy.

There were some voices of reason, like this one:

Linda
I tend to agree with post like that of "Bob H from Petawawa".But there are flies in the ointment.
The vastness, and resultiong diversity of this country creates natural differences. The regions differ not only in economic make-up,but also on many social isses.I wonder how we can reconcile those differences, and still be civil. All,while not creating a patchwork Canada, with provinces that are more like countries.
I don't begrude my fellow Canadians anything. But,as an example, many in the west feel dominated by Ontario. We not only have an unelected Senate, but also a Senate which does not reflect any western values.Or,if they do,they are over-ridden by eastern appointees.
If Ontario wants something, most ofter the rest of Canada has to accept it.As another example,if McGuinty wants the feds to give GST to cities, and Alberta of BC wants to cut the GST,guess who gets their way.If McGuinty wants to ban handguns, those of us in the west are stuck with it.The difference in how we live is never taken into account.Or if Ontario wants Liberals,we all get Liberals.Or vice-versa.
If we don't fix our government in a way that lets us all live together, without one province overshadowing a province that's half a continent away,we will always be spitballing each other. It's never personal. It's just that live in Toronto does not reflect life everywhere in Canada,so our governments, and our laws should reflect that.
I live in BC.I am a Canadian with no desire to fight with other Canadians. But I also feel obligated to defend my values, and my lifestyle. If that means arguing or resisting changes advocated by another province,so be it.Don't take it personal, just try to look for compromise that works for us all.

The question: Is Canada too big and diverse to survive as a country. What is the solution to this kind of bickering?

First, considering all the problems other countries have, this minor bickering is kind of like the Edmonton/Calgary sports events, pretty much harmless fun.

I think the provinces need to take more responsibility and stop blaming Ottawa, and Ottawa needs to stay out of provincial areas of responsibilities. Now, I know the lefties want more government, more interference, more bans on "stuff", and less responsibility for their actions until they get into trouble, but that's been tried and it doesn't work.

I wonder when the provinces are going to pay off their debts? Do they really think they can continue spending without accountability? Doesn't someone have to pay the piper sometime, or do they just continue to blame the last guy in power? The federal government is bad for that, but the provinces are worse, because they can always blame the federal government for not giving them enough. Pass the buck works, for our first nations, provinces, municipalities and health care system, everybody has their hand out for more.

"Please Sir, may I have some more" echoes through our land, with no one taking any responsibility for the situation they have put themselves into.

Old divides need to be forgotten, new paths need to be explored.

Choose Your Liberal

In one corner we have Dan McTeague, in the other we have Bill Graham, choose your Liberal! The Brenda Martin case needs to be closed, and yet the Dion Liberals continue to yap. So watch this, and see who takes the principled approach.

The Liberal's should have kept Bill Graham as the leader, he understands the difference between grandstanding and principles.

Where have all the good Liberal's gone lately? I actually liked ex-PM Martin, I thought he would make a good PM, and keep our budget balanced, but I was sadly mistaken, he was not a leader, just a good finance Minister. Bill Graham was a good leader, and now that he is out of politics, continues to be balanced.

Then we have McTeague, he's really out of control and it's obvious that Dion can't rein him in. Add, Thibault, Holland, Coderre, Fry, and LeBlanc, to name only a few, and you have Liberal MP's out of control and only in it for themselves. It's really quite embarrassing for the party.

Choose your Liberal, carefully, they might be representing you!

Environmentalists Or Starving Children?

The damage environmentalists can do with their lack of understanding of supply and demand, is tremendous. I don't see them protesting this little problem.

Cost of food forces World Vision to cut aid

World Vision is cutting back on the vital flow of aid it provides to some of the world's most impoverished -- saying it can no longer afford to feed 1.5 million of the 7.5 million people that received aid last year.

World Vision cites rising food costs driven by high fuel prices, unpredictable weather and demand from China and India, as well as the failure of countries to meet their donation commitments as the driving factors for the decision.

Environmentalists are asking for a carbon tax, this will increase the price of fuel even more, which will not reduce consumption in the developed world, but it sure will impact the third world countries. Yet they still think biofuels are a good idea!

Maybe they should stop those earth days, and start helping real people, in real need. All funds that presently are being spent on carbon credits, carbon capture, and global warming scientists, should be diverted to helping with this food crisis that they helped create. Wonder how much the Suzuki Foundation is giving to World Vision?

Do they think about the damage biofuels would do, or did it just seem like a 60's kind of thing to support? Farmers are going to switch to planting corn, this will raise the price of feed for cattle farmers, who will send more cattle to be slaughtered, which will decrease the price of beef initially, but as cattle become scarcer, the price of beef will rise, and all food items are going to get more expensive.

But, hey, bring on the biofuels, and the carbon taxes, let the children starve, that will reduce everyone's footprint now won't it! If you have time to protest, you have time to go volunteer to help those who are starving.

Where should the money go? To environmentalists and global warming, or to helping starving children? To a fake crisis or to a real crisis, that is actually killing people right NOW?

We Have A Very Big Hammer!

I enjoy having an economist as our Prime Minister, he understands how trade and the economy are essential to our country. He shows it here, with his comments on NAFTA.

Re-opening NAFTA would benefit Canada: Harper

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Tuesday that re-opening NAFTA would actually help the Canadian economy, because Canada is the biggest supplier of oil and gas to the United States.

"That is of critical importance to the future of the United States, and if we had to look at this kind of option I think that would put us in an even stronger position than we were 20 years ago," Harper said at the North American Leaders' Summit in New Orleans.

But he added that his preference "is not to renegotiate what we discussed in the past, and to talk about the future."

We have a very big hammer, or should I say Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland, are the hammers. I have seen PM Harper smile anytime the opposition brings up the Democrats desire to tear up the NAFTA agreement, he knows they will never do it. One word....oil.

Harper said "North American co-operation" is the "best option to create jobs and to compete effectively with emerging trading blocks elsewhere in the world."

Yet many Canadians think Canada can exist alone, that NAFTA is bad, that hating Americans is somehow making them "superior". It's easy to tear down, much harder to build up.

Here is a speech that the media forgot to cover. It's very impressive, guess that's why the lefties don't want to show it.

Prime Minister urges stronger relations with India.
Go to the right side and click on the video.

This little good news article was totally ignored. Both Atlantic Canada and BC win with this one:
The Government of Canada Announces Refit of Navy Frigates

Where are the media stories on this? HA.

We see this daily. The media and lefties smearing the government anyway they can, that's easy, no positive TV coverage, no reports on jobs being created in Atlantic Canada.

What do they stand for, oh, I forgot lately they do not stand, they sit on their hands, not voting on anything.....I guess those are "Liberal values".

What's This About?

Lost in all the Conservative "mini" scandals, we have this development.

Liberal party president resigns after mild stroke

OTTAWA -- The president of the federal Liberal party is resigning after suffering a stroke.

Senator Marie Poulin, 62, said Tuesday she's decided it would be best for the party if she steps down immediately.

Although she hopes to eventually make a full recovery from the mild stroke that hit her last Wednesday, Poulin said that for now she tires too easily to put in the 40 or 50 hours of work that the party job demands each week.

"When I take a commitment like the presidency of the Liberal party, it's important for me to be able to give it my all,'' she told The Canadian Press.

Well I hope she fully recovers. This kind of leaves the Liberals in a bit of a spot now doesn't it. Here's what Dion had to say:

Liberal Leader Stephane Dion accepted Poulin's resignation "with great regret.''

In a written statement issued late Tuesday, Dion thanked Poulin for presiding over "one of the most profound renewals in party history.''

"Profound renewals"??? Oh, I get it, they are having a religious moment. Well good on you Liberals! May you look into your hearts and feel refreshed. Oh, by the way the $10 a month donation plan is a great idea! Now all you have to do is find those pesky little Liberal voters. Chretien sure did you guys a dirty.

Here We Have Someone Who Needs Help

This story is a sad commentary on universities today. I remember going to university from a small town of 5000, I was so sure the students would all be smart, mentally balanced, and wanting to succeed. Boy, was I wrong. Most were okay, but some were such misfits I couldn't understand how they ever got accepted. Like this little lady:

Yale University has threatened to pull a senior student's controversial "abortion art" project from an exhibition Tuesday unless she admits she lied about artificially inseminating herself and inducing miscarriages to produce the piece.

I'm sorry, but this girl needs help whether she really did induce abortions or not (miscarriages are spontaneous, not induced). If this is "art", I'm not taking my family to see it.

Salovey said that after he and School of Art Dean Robert Storr conducted an investigation, they determined two faculty members made "serious errors of judgment" and should be disciplined for the part they played.

"In one case, the instructor responsible for the senior project should not have allowed it to go forward," he said. "In the other, an adviser should have interceded and consulted others when first given information about the project. Appropriate action has been taken in these two cases."

No kidding Sherlock! Someone's head should roll.

On Friday, in a guest column that appeared in the Yale Daily News, Shvarts stood by her story that she artificially inseminated herself using sperm donors whose identities she said she was keeping secret, then administered herbal drugs to induce possible miscarriages.

She said she never knew for sure whether she was pregnant, but she collected blood around the time of her period after she took the herbs and spread it onto hundreds of feet of plastic that she wrapped around a large cube. The cube was to be suspended from the ceiling of the exhibition hall, and videos of her undergoing the alleged self-induced miscarriages were to be projected on the cube and the walls.

If this isn't a prime example of someone crying out for help, I don't know what is. Help that girl. She is drowning. This is not art, it's a scream for help from someone who is not mentally stable. Funny how all the misfits seem to be studying arts.

Something Stinks To High Heaven At Elections Canada!

Here is an interview between Rutherford and Van Loan, without the usual media spinners and outside of the sound bites you get in Question Period. Thanks to my commenter, frmgrl for sending me to the link!

Interesting, Elections Canada never investigated the Liberals over adscam. They also took some privileged lawyer-client documents concerning the lawsuit against themselves. Nice. How fast are their photocopiers I wonder. How quickly can the mole send the documents to the Liberals. Looks like we live in a dictatorship where government agencies can pick and choose who to target and who to give a free pass.

Add Elections Canada to the same garbage heap as the Human Rights Commissions. Who are the Liberals going to use next? Where is their next mole hidden? Dirty politics, the only thing Liberals know how to do well. They are playing a dangerous game. Van Loan alludes to it in the interview. Something stinks to high heaven at Elections Canada.

Secret Meeting, With the Press?

Oh, give me a break, the Conservatives held a secret meeting with ......wait for it.........The Press! Wow, that's as secret as you can get. Look at the picture they used.

Conservative officials leave a secret briefing they organized at an Ottawa hotel on April 20, 2008.

Conservatives held secret meetings with select reporters Sunday to reveal details about why Elections Canada officers raided their Ottawa headquarters -- and to give their side of the story before court documents are released this week.

Reporters and secret? HAHAHAH, gasp, HAHAHA, hicup, HAHAHA!!!

I'm shocked I tell you, shocked!!! The Conservatives finally talk to the press, and the press slams them for talking to them.

Conservatives insisted Sunday that other parties had acted in a similar way during federal elections and they followed all regulations in election spending.

The party has alleged the raid was a reaction to a civil lawsuit against Elections Canada, and that it was possibly timed to delay Conservative lawyers from questioning Elections Canada officials.

This isn't even a drive by smear, it's an all out biased report by our lovely CTV, and they were one of the select reporters invited to the meeting. So how secret is this secret meeting? As it appears CTV was invited, and all they can report about is the "secret" meeting, maybe they should not be invited next time. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Who are their sponsors?

A Beacon Of Hope

In a world where killing babies is defended as "a woman's choice", in a world where killing people for food, or political reasons is okay....

In a world where malaria could be stopped dead by using DDT but environmentalists still yell about birds eggs being harmed...

In a world where we are depriving starving people of food, because we are using it to fuel our cars....

In a world where we wash our cars with fresh drinkable water that millions would love to have...

One beacon of hope shines brightly for all people. The Pope.

His message of love, sharing and hope, is not just for Catholics, it's for all people in this world of ours.

In this world where easy sex, and child porn is prevalent, where swingers clubs are just fine, and drugs are killing our children... Where morals have disappeared and the "if it feels good" crowd scorns anyone who is moral, in this world, a beacon shines, giving hope to all who are open to his message. The Pope.

So I thank Fox News, who broadcast the whole Mass from Yankee Stadium, it is the closest thing to being there.

Yesterday, CTV news had 45 seconds on his visit and over 5 minutes from someone who had been abused, not exactly balanced. Today they at least showed his visit to ground zero.

In this world of strife, disasters and hate between groups of people, a beacon of light shines. Pope Benedict.

My husband is Presbyterian but he enjoys going to Mass, he likes the pageantry, the sense of belonging, and most important the clear rules that Catholics follow. Lately we have seen the United Church become a religion of nothing, the Anglicans are splitting up over various issues, and all religions are under pressure from the "progressives" to lighten up on their morals.

These "progressives" will be satisfied with nothing less than the destruction of religion, as it is a threat to their agenda. Socialism is not about helping all people, it's about helping yourself, making yourself elite, so you can rule over the "little" people and tell them how hard you are working on their behalf. It's a sick lie.

Catholics like Paul Martin put politics ahead of their religion, they sell out to the greater god, money and power. Thank goodness, we have one beacon in this world, who teaches, love not power, sharing not greed, and hope not hate. Will the "progressives" listen, or are their hearts hardened to the message of moral values?

Feminist's Gets Shrill About Bill C484

What are the feminists afraid of, why are they so shrill about a bill that protects the unborn? Yes, I know they think abortion is threatened. Maybe it should be. Why can a woman legally kill her baby at any stage of her pregnancy, included up to 40 weeks?

Listen to this Bloq MP, she is willing to FORCE MP's to vote against this bill, she does not want a free vote, she wants a dictatorship. She DEMANDS that all MP's vote against the bill. She can barely spit out the word abortion, she never calls the baby a baby, it's some sort of alien blob that has invaded a woman's body, she will never admit that it is a human baby that gets killed. Wonder what her stance is on the seal hunt.

I think Demers was/is fighting some sort of cancer, but I'm not sure because her blog is only in French, so much for bi-lingualism. If she is, she should be the first person to champion baby rights. She is fighting hard to live, but she doesn't think babies in the womb should have those same rights. Shame on her.

The lefties cry about seals being killed, and then they turn around and demand that women have the right to kill their own babies. Guess if their abortions were carried out on the snow so we could see the blood and baby parts they might change their minds. Think the club used on seals is brutal? How about dismemberment, salt poisoning, or my favorite, scissors to the brain.

A perfect example of how sick they are, how disrespectful of even the concept of babies needing protection, is this little fraud.

A Yale student's stunning claims of repeatedly artificially inseminating herself and then taking drugs to induce miscarriages for her senior art project aren't true, the university said Thursday night.

The student, art major Aliza Shvarts, told several high-level Yale officials that she did not do the things she said she did in constructing the exhibit, according to a strongly worded statement issued by the Ivy League school and sent to FOXNews.com.

"The entire project is an art piece, a creative fiction designed to draw attention to the ambiguity surrounding form and function of a woman’s body," said Helaine S. Klasky, associate dean and vice president for public affairs at Yale. "Ms. Shvarts is engaged in performance art. Her art project includes visual representations, a press release and other narrative materials."

Real or not, this student is seriously mental, and for Yale to call this "art" in any way, shape, or form is just sick. An art piece? ART? Proof that lefties are out of control more like it.

The question is, why are feminists so scared of a bill that will protect a wanted baby if harmed or killed?

Personally, I think they know they are losing the fight, they know people are cringing at the thought of baby killing. They can yell "woman's right to choose" all they want, but young girls are not as stupid as the feminists think they are, and they are choosing life, over death. Just like Demers made that same choice for herself.

I was very tempted to show a picture of a seal being clubbed to death and an aborted baby all dismembered, but I couldn't do it.

Official Opposition All About Smears.

I looked at Hansard for this last week, I was curious about how many questions the Liberals asked about Elections Canada and "ethics". The Liberals, as the official opposition, are allowed to ask 20 questions per Question Period, so that comes to 100 a week. How many questions did they ask on Health Care this week? None, Zip, Nada, Zero.

How many questions did they ask on Elections Canada? 40! Yes, that's 40% of their questions on one matter, that frankly, nobody but us political junkies care about. Add to that the 13 questions asked on Cadman, and we now have 53% of questions asked in an attempt to smear the Conservatives. Add another 18 on Afghanistan and foreign affairs, and we are up to 71% of questions the Liberals asked this week in Parliament were smear attempts.

Here's a clip of Deepak dishing it out to Liberal MP Murphy, who is calling for "heads to roll".

Great job Deepak, hit them hard, hit them often!

How about that all important issue, the environment? The issue that Dion is going to spent the summer talking about? How many question did they ask on that? Eight, or 8% and most were trying to smear Baird, so add those to our total and we have 79% of questions asked in the attempt to smear the Conservatives. The Liberals are lost, they have no plan, no vision, no leadership, and no policies, that leaves them with smear.

Liberal record for this week, 80% mud slinging, 20% valid questions.

The NDP for the most part stayed away from mud slinging and asked questions about issues like gas prices. That is a smart move on their part, just like their position on the Cadman affair. Voters will notice. The Bloq followed the Liberals lead.

So, the two parties suffering the most in Quebec choose smear, and not substance. How's that working for you? The mud is not sticking, deal with it lefties!

The Liberals, all about smears.

The Long Reach Of The Liberals, Friends In All The Right Places.

It's okay for Liberals to sue Elections Canada but not the Conservatives. That's what the Liberals would have everyone believe.

Funny how the Liberals won against Elections Canada, and each leadership candidate got $50,000, but they never mention that little fight, wonder why?

They also seem to have inside information on the search warrant that they are just bursting to talk about, but can't because it would expose the fact that they have a pipeline to Elections Canada. How else could they have had a cameraman at the offices, BEFORE the raid?? Smells to high heaven.

I also think the RCMP were used by Elections Canada, and the Liberals to help smear the Conservatives. Could that be why on Friday the RCMP made an arrest related to adscam?

The RCMP said the allegations were uncovered during their ongoing investigation into the sponsorship scandal.

“It's highly likely that there will be other charges,” RCMP spokesman Corporal Luc Bessette said at a news conference.

The charges against Mr. Corbeil came three days after the Mounties helped the Elections Commissioner to raid Conservative offices in Ottawa, capping a difficult week for Liberals and Conservatives alike.

It appears more arrests are in the works. It's about time.

Friday Funnies! Nothing To Do?

Dog Pack Attacks Gator In Florida
At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the 'apex predator', can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and 'survival of the pack mentality' bred into the canines.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine. Note that the Alpha dog has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while another dog has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.

Not for the squeamish ~~~

The Naked Truth!

The Minister of Defense appears to have had enough with lefties. Maybe we should all take a page from his book, and expose the left wing agenda for the fraud it really is.

The NDP hate anything to do with the military, but they still think they can credibly comment on our men and women in the forces, sorry, not buying it. Taliban Jack got his name for a good reason, the desire of the NDP to negotiate with terrorists.

Lost In Fantasyland!

My new favorite MP is James Moore, he is one sharp fast thinking guy. PM Harper needs to promote this guy after the next election. He has out smarted both newbie Murray and oldie Dryden day after day, and he does it again today in QP. Batter up! Two Up, Two Down!

Murray shakes her way though her Dion script, and can't think her way out of a brown bag...oh hold it...I mean plastic bag.

Dryden, well, he's like a boxer, one too many hits to the head, stuck in repeat land. Same question, over and over, and over. He's taking the hits for his team, because Dion is a wimp.

If this is the best the Liberals have, lost in fantasyland is a great description of the Liberals.

Liberals, Arrogant As Ever.

Question Period was a rich mine field today, starting with this little gem.

Jennings whose husband was appointed to some board (Someone remind me) is so arrogant she doesn't even blink when she is accused of doing the same thing the Conservatives are fighting Elections Canada about. She arrogantly states that she was cleared.

Right Jennings, so where is that 40 million? Did you get a brown envelope full of taxpayers money? Oh right, Gomery cleared all you Liberals, and now Elections Canada does the same thing. Funny how the Liberals knew all about the raid, who's the Elections Canada mole? Seems some snivel servants aren't quite as non-political as they should be, hope they are caught, and hung out to dry.

Using my freedom of speech, while I still have it, Bullpucks, you Liberals are so arrogant, you think you lost the last election because of an RCMP investigation. Wrong, you lost it because you did nothing for 13 years, nothing.

So arrogant, so Liberal, so sad you are in opposition. NOT!

I Call Discrimination.......

Against the RCMP. What is this guy going to do if he does become a Mountie, sue criminals? Please HRC's, I was discriminated against because the criminal only shot at me, they should have shot at only the other officers. Please HRC's, I was discriminated against because the RCMP sent me to a cold northern post, not the post I wanted in Toronto.

Mounties ordered to re-admit cadet

A former RCMP cadet tossed out of the force’s training program after enduring weeks of racial discrimination won a hefty financial settlement and a second chance to fulfil his “lifelong dream” today after the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled in his favour.

Fine, he gets $500,000 for his pain and suffering, and gets to re-enroll in the RCMP program. Is he happy now????? It appears not.

The tribunal ordered the RCMP to pay for lost wages, suffering, and legal costs — a figure Tahmourpour’s lawyer Barry Weintraub pegged at about $500,000.

The order to give Tahmourpour a chance to re-enrol in the cadet program came despite his request that he be installed as an officer at a level commensurate with fellow cadets.

He wants to become an "instant" officer, by-pass the training required, get a raise, and if that isn't enough, he wants to help other visible minorities also learn how to sue and win $500,000 settlements.

Given his “unique insight” into race relations, the Iranian-Canadian said he hopes to one day be in a position within the RCMP in which he can help fellow officers who may be encountering similar experiences.

Was he tortured? What happened to this poor victim, that caused him to fight for 9 years to be allowed to re-enroll in the RCMP?

Tahmourpour first took his case to the Canadian Human Rights Commission in March 2001 where he cited incidents of verbal abuse and unfair performance evaluations. Among his chief grievances was that a superior officer made comments about a pendant he wore as a symbol of his faith and that his Arabic signature was mocked.

The commission, however, dismissed his complaint, saying his firing was the result of poor job performance.

The Federal Court agreed with that decision but on appeal, the court was found to have ignored “crucial evidence” — essentially the RCMP’s own statistics — which showed “systemic discrimination.”

Gosh darn, that is so cruel, my heart almost stopped just thinking about the pain he suffered. How did he survive? Poor performance evaluations, a pendant he wore gets mentioned, and the all encompassing, verbal abuse. It's a sad tale of pain, suffering, bad manners by RCMP officers, and well lack of the level of respect this cadet obviously deserved.

This is the new face of our RCMP officers, that should make us all proud of the work of this Human Rights Tribunal, we now get:

An “advisory committee” or “multiculturalism officer” should also be appointed to make recommendations to the training centre’s commanding officer in an effort to prevent discrimination, the decision stated.

So, a real Federal Court dismissed his case, but he continued to sue until he won with, you guessed it, a HR Tribunal, better known as Kangaroo Courts. Wonder what the Tribunal will do if the RCMP assign a tough, but disabled, female RCMP officer to help him though his new RCMP experience, and she claims discrimination because he won't respect her? What to do, what to do. Does a disabled female trump a visible minority male? Oh wait, a female is a visible minority, and she's disabled, so her rights should count for more than his rights, and well white male's rights....they have none.

Get a clue HRC's, you are already under the microscope for your decisions in other matters, and you go and do this? Because of statistics that supposedly show "systemic discrimination"? Do you have no idea how easy statistics are to manipulate? Here's an example.

Insurance companies use statistics to discriminate against young male drivers. Their statistics clearly show that male drivers under 25 get in more accidents, than say, granny, who only drives one block to Church every Sunday. That's the clue.

Liberals Get Pwned, Twice! Foghorn Leghorn?

You would think that with the "raid" on the Conservative headquarters the Liberals would have done significant damage in Question Period. Well, no, they didn't. As a matter of fact, Deepak pwned (my kid can't believe I'm using gamer talk! He thinks he pwns it.) Rae, and then MacKay provided the second knockout punch against Coderre (what's he doing on the defense file again?). Watch PM Harper, who says he doesn't have a sense of humour.

I could swear, (but I can't, because I don't allow it on my site) that PM Harper just about had a fit of the giggles when he heard MacKay call some unnamed (but we all know who it is)Liberal a "Foghorn Leghorn". Foghorn Leghorn?? Too funny.

The Liberals getting pwned, and loving it!

Dirty Dealings!

My first take on the "raid"? HAHAHA, too funny, more scandal mongering from the media. My second take? HAHAHA, 2 RCMP, in broad daylight? That's quite the "raid". Then I saw this picture, and the laughing stopped. My jaw dropped and I have been shaking ever since. This could be coming after you....

Is that a real nose, or an undercover nose? Is that real leather, or polyester? How strong is this guy to carry out one box, that appears to be addressed to him. This is disturbing, one box needed two RCMP officers as escort? How long was that search? Minutes? Oh, Elections Canada was only picking up a self addressed box from the office? Seems they called their Liberal buddies and the media to the box pick up.

Camera crews, including one from the Liberal party, were on hand as police arrived at the downtown building.

CBC News first reported RCMP officers were seen in the 12th-floor party offices and the 17th-floor mailroom. An elections official later left with a box of documents. (So, an elections official got lost, called the Mounties who went from the 12th floor to the 17th floor, and found his box. Good job Mounties, you saved a lost election official, maybe you can now help him find that $40 million the Liberals lost.)

RCMP Cpl. Jean Hainey said the Mounties were merely assisting.

"It is not an RCMP investigation. We're there to assist, but that's it."

So, who at Elections Canada alerted both the media and the Liberal Party of Canada about this "raid"??

Assassinate People To Protect Animal Rights?

I've had it with these Sea Shepherd idiots. Paying fines in coin, ramming our Coast Guard ships, and causing havoc with the seal hunt. Have they saved a single seal? Nope. Have they profited from their protests? You bet! You just can't find it anywhere on their site, not a single financial report, no idea of where the donations go, what are they hiding? Who are their contributors? Kids and the elderly.

Here's a hint.

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has removed Jerry Vlasak – who has endorsed assassination as a way of stopping animal abuse – from its board of directors.

Nice guy, kill people to save animals. So they boot him from the board. It doesn't stop there.

We saw that way of thinking still alive, and being broadcast by Watson just a few weeks ago, so the organization has not changed. Remember Elisabeth May was on this very board until a few weeks ago, but she will not condemn his statements.

Newfoundland Premier Danny Williams says he considers the head of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society a "terrorist" who belittled the lives of three sealers killed last month by comparing them to animals.

Williams, commenting after the arrest of the protest vessel Farly Mowat, says Paul Watson should not be welcome in Canada.

He says sealing is very important to Newfoundland and Labrador and it's time Ottawa took Watson to task.

Wow, Danny is agreeing with Ottawa? Is the ice melting in Newfoundland?

Pay attention to this picture of the Farly Mowat, look at the flag flying, this is from their own web site.

In 2002, after months of bureaucratic paper shuffling and payments of extortionist demands by the Cayman Islands Bureau of Shipping, the Ocean Warrior was re-registered in Canada. She was renamed the Farley Mowat after Sea Shepherd's International Chair, Farley Mowat, Canadian author and animal welfare advocate.

She is a protector, and a symbol of hope for a better, more humane, and more ecologically conscious future. The Farley Mowat is, has been, and will continue to be the world's greatest defender of marine wildlife.

Protector of Watson's profits maybe, but a symbol of hope? Right, hope to rack in the big bucks from old folks and kids. Nice. Typical eco-nuts, give us money so we can shout louder!

Globe and Mail, Caught Red-Handed!

Talk about playing with polls to get the results you want. By chance I blogged on this poll at the Globe and Mail last night. Here were the results at the time of my post:

I'm I the only on who thinks this way? It appears, not.

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
99% 12609 votes
12609 votes

No
1% 164 votes
164 votes

I have never seen a Globe and Mail poll at 99% agreement.

Posted by hunter at 8:11 PM

So, that was Sunday, now that same poll is still up at the Globe and Mail with the following results showing:

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
73% 8963 votes
8963 votes

No
27% 3285 votes
3285 votes

So, what happening from Sunday night to Monday? How did the yes side lose 3,646 votes? How did 12,609 votes on Sunday night get REDUCED to 8,963 on Monday, after two full days of polling?? So, they wiped out 3,646 votes and that's counting all the people who clicked yes today. What's up with that?

The Globe and Mail, caught red-handed playing with the polls. Who would have guessed.

Final update; it appears the lost votes have been found, and counted. Makes me go HUMMMM! The poll jumped about 10,000 votes all of a sudden, in a few hours, from 8963 to the final count of 17196?

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
80% 17196 votes
17196 votes

No
20% 4321 votes
4321 votes

Updated at 12:10 my time. Doesn't really matter, we have a perfect example of lies, more lies, and polls.

Poor Seals, Or Rich Protesters?

Every year it's the same old thing, seal hunt protests. The old pictures of white coats, (baby seals) get dusted off from the 70's and used to protest against the sealer hunters. Why? Well, here is a very interesting interview showing the protester's true motivation, and it's not saving seals, it's all about stuffing their pockets.

Barbara Frum - Paul Watson Interview, 1978 CBC

Has anything changed since then? Not that I can see. How big is that ship that goes around the world ramming other ships, and who paid for it? Watson clearly identifies why he does what he does, it's all about money. His recent comment about the death's of the 4 sealer's was sickening. Elizabeth May should be ashamed of being on the board of such an organization, but her true colours are now showing. Guess they are called the Green Party, not because of the environment, but because it is the colour of money. Shame.

I'm I the only on who thinks this way? It appears, not.

Was the RCMP right to seize the anti-sealing vessel Farley Mowat?

Yes
99% 12609 votes
12609 votes

No
1% 164 votes
164 votes

I have never seen a Globe and Mail poll at 99% agreement. Maybe it's time for Watson to find some other "cute" animal to use for fund raising. Try the polar bear, it's all the rage today, and it has a white coat too. Go film it killing seals on the ice....just like seal hunter's, but at least a bullet from a seal hunter is a much quicker end than the polar bear dishes out to those poor seals. Bet we will never see those pictures.

Update: Knut proves my point, by torturing fish!!!

Germany's celebrity polar bear Knut has triggered a new controversy by fishing out 10 live carp from his moat and killing them in front of visitors

Rae Dazed!

On Friday, Rae got a chance to show what leadership was all about. To show how he would be different from Dion and Iggy, so what does he do? He stood up in the House, and tried to smear the Conservatives with another old tape scandal.

I feel sorry for Liberals like Irwin Cotler, (seen in the video) he is a respected MP stuck in a dysfunctional party. Why is he still there? He sure doesn't look happy, what is he hoping for, a return of the Liberals to power? I don't think so, I think he sincerely wants to make Canada a better place, he's just on the wrong side.

CTV and the Globe and Mail are all over this "scandal" like dogs humping a leg. It feels good, but nothing much gets accomplished. Crying wolf only works so long, then people tune out.

If the Liberals want to throw dirt around, maybe they should look to their own MP's. Here's only one example:

Mar 23, 2007 11:26 AM
Canadian Press

OTTAWA – Veteran Liberal MP Tom Wappel,
whose outspoken form of social conservatism often collided with his party's policies, says he won't reoffer come next federal election.

A member of Parliament since 1988, the Toronto-area lawyer, now 57, has been known for his vocal stands against abortion and gay rights – and for refusing to help a veteran in his riding whom he suspected of supporting a rival candidate in the previous election.

Wappel has said worse, the Star was actually easy on him, but you can find his comments on your own. I will not stoop to Bob Rae's level, to the level the Liberals have descended to. My values are principled values, not "Canadian values". The family, with one Mom, one Dad, and kids, are my values. Ask any Liberal what "Canadian values" mean, they have no clue. It's a marketing ploy, making them seem like principled guardians of our lifestyle. Swingers clubs, legalized marijuana, legalized prostitution, allowing 10 year olds to have sex, those are Liberal values, they are not Canadian values. No thanks Libs.

Rae blew his big chance to change the tone in Parliament, to raise the bar, to make the Liberals appear to stand for something, he had a chance to change the station, and what did he do? Smear, smear and more smear attempts. The Liberals must think it's working, the polls tell them they are close to the Conservatives, but statistics lie, just like the Liberals. (Where is that 40 million that is missing?)

Funny, I thought Dion said he would not be negative, so far, that's all the Liberals have done. Remember when you are digging up a grave, the dirt sticks to you.

The point: Liberals should not throw stones that might hit one of their own.

Friday Funny, Back In Time!

Watch this clip, it's too funny! Notice that they are all smoking and drinking, and basically having a great time. Where have those days gone? Now it's all about being politically correct, sitting with puckered %^%es waiting for the HRC to descend on bloggers.

And for you animal lovers:

Have a great Friday night!

Censor This Polley!

First of all, I have no idea who Polley is, but from the comments at CTV it seems she's a NDP shrill, and has no clue what censorship means.

Allison Hyatt
• Sarah Polley's statements on the legislation are false. She supported that provision when the bill was introduced by the Liberals in 2003.

• Sarah Polley should be honest and admit that her partisan reasons are the real motivation behind this opposition.

• This provision was introduced in 2003 by the Liberal Party. Why didn't Sarah Polley mention her concerns then? In 2001, a discussion paper was sent to over 35 industry stakeholders on the provisions contained in this bill –Sarah Polley can't hide the fact that she was aware of it. Why is she opposing it now?

• Perhaps she was too busy participating in the "Stop Harper" campaign to pay attention to this provision. Or, perhaps it's her own personal political agenda that takes precedence, and no doubt risks her losing all credibility.

------------------
Roadrobber
Polly is starting to sound like a politician with a sense of entitlement to our taxdollars. This is the same Polly who thinks movie theatres should be required by law to show a certain percentage of Canadian made films.

----------------------
So I googled her name and sure enough, she's a NDP shrill.

Political activism

Following the row with Disney, Polley dedicated more of her efforts to progressive politics, becoming a prominent member of the New Democratic Party, where Ontario legislator Peter Kormos was said to be her political mentor.

In 1995, she lost two back teeth after being struck by a riot police officer during a protest against the Provincial Progressive Conservative government of Mike Harris in Queen's Park, Toronto.[6][7] She was subsequently involved with the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty.[6] She has recently scaled back on her political activism.[citation needed]

In 2003, she was part of newly-elected Toronto mayor David Miller's transition advisory team.

The problem here is that because she's in the film industry, her views are biased, and she doesn't want to be cut off from the trough.

Censor this Polley, you are a NDP shrill who thinks your opinion counts for something, it doesn't. Just read the comments, most people agree with the governments stance on this one. Deal with it!

I disagree with funding any arts. They can stand or fall on their own, like any business. When my boys were little we gladly paid to go to the museum, the zoo, Fort Edmonton Park, and Heritage days, to name a few.

That is different from funding a movie, the movie industry is a huge money maker, if you can't make money, your product is not necessary, it's supply and demand, plain and simple. Why are the "arts" any different than any other industry? Shrills like Polley make us think they are supporting Canadian culture. Not true, we are supporting artists with our tax dollars who can't make it on their own. Enough is enough.

We have never been to the Fringe, but it pays for itself because many people go and enjoy it. That's the way it should be, support the arts with your dollars, if you think it's worthwhile. Do not expect me to fund a film with my tax dollars, if I disagree with it's content. Produce it if you want, but not on my dime.

Censor this Polley, censorship means not allowing your film to be produced or shown. Polley, are you standing up in support of Fitna by the way? Crickets...

Like the lefties who visited my blog the other day, and blasted me for stating that the government doesn't appear to help fund school trips to Quebec for bi-lingualism, yet billions are spent on it. The government should not fund films just to support Canadian artists. I bet they agree with me on this one too. HA.

Don't even get me started on the whole CBC thing and the billion a year we taxpayers are forced to spend on that lefty organization.

This blog receives no government funds or handouts.

Liberals, Taunted and Ridiculed! Poor Babies!

Small wonder that the Liberal voting immigrants, would be protesting ANY change to the immigration laws. It's like last election the Liberals got all the; jail votes, special interest votes, daycare loving votes, First Nations votes (TV included), and all the 80 year old granny votes. (Did I leave any special interest group out?)

OTTAWA — The federal Liberals were taunted and ridiculed by opponents as they avoided triggering an election over immigration reforms they have spent weeks denouncing in the most scathing terms.

Their opponents in government and on the other opposition benches poured scorn on the party as it allowed the Tory government to survive yet another a confidence vote in the House of Commons.

Written by the "Canadian Press", more likely written by a grade ten student trying to impress his teacher.

But when they raised the issue again as the centrepiece of their question period attacks Wednesday, they drew mockery from Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

"I look forward to seeing whether the Leader of the Opposition believes his own rhetoric on this," the prime minister replied when Stéphane Dion condemned the measures.

"These measures are important to immigrants. They are important to our economy. That is why they are confidence measures."
It was not Dion, as the poorly written article suggests, that was PM Harper.

Guess now that the Liberals voted with the government, they don't believe their own rhetoric. Lot's of fear mongering, no substance. Here's more:

The changes would place highly coveted immigrants — like doctors or other skilled labourers — on the fast track through the system. But while their papers would get processed quicker, other immigrants would be forced to wait behind them in the queue.

Oh dear, how scary, the Conservatives are going to put "highly coveted" immigrants in front of an 80 year old grandma, who will be a strain on our health care. Tisk, tisk, bad Conservatives, wanting productive immigrants.

In addition, the government would be allowed to set annual limits on the number of applications Canada processes.

Wow, that's really scary, I'm hiding under my bed now! Hello "Canadian Press" via Globe and Mail, every government has done this before, but because it's the "scary" Conservatives in power, no more strippers allowed, those Conservatives are immigrant hating, "evil Christians" you know! What next shutting down swingers clubs??

"We'll replace this bill, this bad bill, by a good policy," Mr. Dion said.

So, they will vote for the bill, but it's a bad bill, and when they get back into power (as the naturally ruling party), after the Conservatives have solved the immigration problem, they will replace it with...with...a really bad bill, so they can have massive backlogs again.

Go for that pity vote!

Dryden vs Moore, and Pucks!

Dryden is really losing it, Tuesday he rose in the house and tried to tie Watergate to the Cadman affair. Here's the exchange between Dryden and Moore. You need to watch it to get the full flavour.

The very last line is courtesy of my 14 year old son. He seems to have the same dry humour I do.

Watergate was from 1972 to 1974, Moore was born in 1976, so he is right, he wasn't even born yet. How far back in history are the Liberals going to go? Are we going to hear about Nero and Rome burning next? Are they next going to blame the dinosaurs for dying in Alberta and not Ontario?

Too silly! My son is right: Dryden not enough pucks to the head!

None, Nada, Nil, Zip, Zero.

Next week my oldest son is off to Quebec on a school trip, paid for by Mom and Dad. This trip was not paid for by the school, nor the provincial government, nor the federal government, not one red cent of support. None, Nada, Nil, Zip, Zero.

I encouraged my son to stay in French (it's an option after grade 8) so that he would have more choices for jobs, and learn another language. Now we have to pay $2,000 to send him to Quebec for a week. You would think that some level of government would help with some of the costs. If the governments are not helping students and their parents, where is all that money going? Who is getting all the funds that we, as taxpayers, are forced to pay for bi-lingualism?

As a matter of fact, the parents are also paying for the substitute teacher that is needed because not all of the students taking French could afford to go on the trip. It's not only my school either, I talked to another Mom who's kid is doing the same trip, and they are in the same boat. No funding.

Where is the money for bi-lingualism going? Who is benefiting, not kids out here in Alberta, I might as well have enrolled my kid in Chinese, or here in Edmonton, Ukrainian, they would have been better off, and I would be $2,000 richer.

Is there any politician out there who would like to answer my questions? Is there some program out there our schools don't know about? I've tried looking on the federal government site, but found nothing, so if there is a program it's hidden from the very people who could benefit from it.

Dion Flounders

What an attack dog Dion is! He appears to be trying a new tactic to throw PM Harper off his game, sadly, it fails badly.

Three questions, three different topics, none are even interesting, in fact this whole tape is boring, I fell asleep making it! If this is the best that Dion can do, he better get back to the whiteboard. Wonder if Dion knows that blackboards are a no-no these days? Chalk is passe, and overhead projectors, well, they are dinosaurs now.

The point: Dion tries to change tactics, and PM Harper evolves right with him, and bests him. Three questions, Dion 0, PM Harper 3....back to the drawing board Dion.

To The Unsung Commenter's!

I was thinking this weekend about what makes a blog successful. I know I've sometimes questioned why I keep at it, especially on the days when I work late, and only sit down at the computer around ten or eleven at night.

What makes a blog successful, is the people who take the time to comment on posts. Those comments are an indication of whether your post has hit a nerve or not.

Here's an example:

Alberta Girl said...
"What I enjoy most, is that often I am at work and can not comment, and then someone like Alberta Girl, Frmgrl or you, will come in and totally destroy some lefty poster/stalker who has left a comment that is way out of line."

Thanks! And it is my pleasure to take those lefties to task.... (I love that)

This is truly the final straw for me. In the past two years, how many times has the Conservative government done something truly great only to have it ignored by an MSM bent on being the mouthpiece for the latest liberal pseudo scandal.

The only good thing - there have been soooo many "scandals" that have blown up in the Liberals and the MSM's faces, that Canadians are actually starting to ignore them.

Think of all the polls that get put out hoping against hope that they will swing against the Tories and then they quickly disappear when they go horribly wrong.

It is time to keep notes, save comments, headlines, video and such for use whenever the Liberals and their MSM cohorts try to use a "found" document or video, or paper, or dead MP, or jailed woman, or former prime minister or.....

I know that I will be not only noting the bias, but I will be saving it on my computer.

This is a perfect example of people having the power to make changes. It's not the newspapers anymore, it's the everyday Canadian, finding their voice on blogs, on comments, on Facebook. Often, the comments become a blog, within the blog.

The commenter's gain a voice, their point of view gains power. THANK YOU, to all the unsung commenter's, who make the difference on a blog. Sometimes life intrudes and I can't comment, but it doesn't mean I don't appreciate your contributions and opinions. (That does not include my lefty stalker or people who insist on swearing).
