I Love Canada!

When is the last time you said that? We yap about Liberals, and Conservatives, but what is it really about? It's about who you think can run Canada the best. Right now it appears that the Conservatives have the edge, but would you vote Liberal if you thought they could do a better job for Canada than any other party?

What must immigrants think when they come to Canada, their chosen land, and see us squabbling about such stupid things as whether prisoners should be allowed to smoke. Most immigrants are just happy to be safe!

We live in astounding times in Canada. We lack nothing. We have the most peaceful country in the world, we have never attacked another nation with the intent to conquer.(Okay there is that one time that we burnt down the White House, but who's counting) We welcome people from all nations, and we impose no regulations on them, except to live in peace among all the other people of Canada. Most take up the call and become proud Canadians.

My next door neighbour is a refugee from Czechoslovakia, her niece has come here on a one year work visa. She got a job within two days of landing here. Those are the type of people we need in Canada. They do not come here to live off of the taxpayers of Canada, but to contribute to our nation.

I am proud to be Canadian. Our country is wealthy not only in natural resources, but in our people. I often think about the pioneers, living in mud huts through -30 weather. How did they do it? We must remember them because they are the origin of Canada. They defined the Canada that we have today.

We must stand guard over Canada, we need to make sure that our pioneers mean something to our future generations. What they taught us, is very simple. Love your country.

They came here in the hundreds of thousands, looking for a better life, and they found it. Not without work. They worked hard to make themselves homes and better lives for their children. They learned English or French. They built communities, sent their young sons off to war, and prayed for our country, Canada. They understood what it took to build a nation. Let us make sure we never forget their sacrifices.

As Remembrance Day approaches, think back to the pioneers who built our country. They forged a country with the steel of their willpower, and the might of their faith, not with a handout by the government.

It is a slow process to change course in a country that has shifted off course, but Canadians can right the ship by thinking back to the pioneers who got things done, by themselves.

I love Canada, it is a rich and peaceful country, because all the people who built this nation were strong individuals, willing to take a risk and build a new life for themselves and their families.

Where has that pioneering spirit gone? Tomorrow morning as you leave your heated house, and jump into your heated car to go to work, think about what Canada, the country means to you, and how you can make it a better place.

It is not an easy land, with our ice and snow, but it is a bountiful land for those who come here to live in Canada. Don't be embarrassed to tell someone you love Canada, our nation depends on us being proud to be Canadians. Let our immigrants know what it means to be Canadian.

I love Canada!

The conservative mandate is to become part of the U S.
Look back at what Diefenbaker and Mulroney have done and Harper is following their lead.
Look at the blogs on Blogging Tories more is said about the U S then Canada.

Ignore the troll.

By far, this is the BEST country in the world.

I remember when a Japanese group of buyers came to a Sask alphalfa dehy plant,
they could not stop talking about the 2 1/2 hour trip from the airport,
where all they saw was miles and miles of miles of fields and pasture.

They remarked that in many countries, the ditches would be used to grow food.

And only one family living in houses that were separated by yards....they were in awe of this beautiful country.

You disingenuous hack!

How dare you suggest that immigrants should contribute something to this country when they get here! Don't you know how this works?

Thank you for confirming what most people know.

Only Stephen Harper calls it second rate.

And Robert Peter John Day calls Canadians "stupid".

Only Iffy says Canadians are ashamed to wear the flag,
which in his opinion,
looks like a beer can label,
and that Canadians are a bunch of herbivorian boy scouts.

But that's likely why Iffy stayed out of Canada for 34 years,
we are just to common for the likes of the Count!

Patrick Ross said...

If I'm not mistaken, it was Hedy Fry who said Canadians are ashamed to wear the flag.

herbivorian boy scouts.
I googled that, and cannot find the actual quote. Every reference was some fright winger claiming "Iggy said this in 2002". While I won't dispute that yet, but I'd like to read the actual quote. Perhaps you could provide a link?

Or it is like the torture meme, where if you read the actual article he wrote, while the title and leadin are provocative (not surprising since he was an author at the time) he ends by saying torture doesn't work and shouldn't be used. Perhaps the boy scout quote is another of these misrepresentations?

Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status.

Why does he hate Canada?

Liberal supporter, you are being very generous calling it a "misrepresentation". Most people would have called it a lie.

Yeah, and then sometimes somebody calls an ethnic conservative an "uncle tom" and it seems like it doesn't even phase the Groupthink Temple.

You must be new around here. This blog calls anyone left of Ghengis Khan far worse.

I strongly doubt that I would vote Liberal, as the nanny state policies they have implemented over the years has sapped the spirit of self-reliance that my ancestors brought to the country. The reason he came here was to have his own land in a forest, something not possible in Scotland. After 34 years of effort, he and his family, with help from neighbours, were in 1852 census, self-sufficient. Excessive re-distribution of wealth and the human rights industry are huge de-motivators.

Patrick: You should come here for 'Friday Funnies'. Then you could see some good old fashion racist humour. Hunter shure do tell some good black folk jokes, also she do the Mexican folks also. Yup, sure do. She is smart enough, though, to stay away from the Jewish joke.

My guess, comment moderation will now go on. Just a guess about Conservative predictability. HA!

SQ doesn't know the difference between JOKES and real racism.

Lefties don't know how to laugh, only how to criticize those who have different values. As you can see, they need a daddy to tell them what to say and do and think.

Only three comments later...

If "lefties" didn't know how to laugh, none would bother coming here to Canada's Most Hilarious Blog.

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Well LS you little lefty troll, did daddy Cynic send you over here, or are you just a regular poster to my blog because you keep coming here day after day after day, even without daddies permission. Does he know you lurk around my blog everyday?

Go stalk some lefty chick, I hear they want extra pay for substandard work. Don't like my blog, go suck up to daddy Cynic. Lefties, only they are right. HA!

So then calling an ethnic Conservative an "uncle tom" is OK because Hunter's mean to lefties?

See, ls, you children spend so much time pretending that you're better than everyone else. I suppose God forbid you should ever even attempt to make good on that.
