Electorate leaning towards Liberals: poll

OTTAWA -- A polarized electorate may be tilting toward the federal Liberals at the expense of Stephen Harper's Conservative government, a new poll suggested Monday.
The Canadian Press Harris-Decima survey compared attitudes toward the Tories and Liberals in a head-to-head, two-party format. The telephone poll of just over 1,000 Canadians found that 44 per cent of respondents said they'd prefer a Liberal government after the next election, compared with 37 per cent who preferred the Conservatives.
Misleading? No Kidding!!! We hear time after time from Liberals, only 36% of Canadians voted for the Conservatives, so 64% voted against them. At 37% the Conservatives have actually picked up a point, and the only way Liberals will get 44% is if they wipe out the other lefty parties.
Since the 2006 election, the Conservatives "have not been able to enlarge their tent," said Harris-Decima president Bruce Anderson - notwithstanding a generally strong economy, fat government coffers and the incumbent's opportunity to control the agenda.
"If anything, the leaning and the second-choice support profile of Canadians is disproportionately headed in the direction of the Liberals right now," said Anderson.
Hello Anderson, we have one right leaning party, and 4 lefty parties, so any second choice HAS to be left leaning. Then we have this little gem:
Read how the question is worded. "Do you think the Liberal party is a lot better, a little better, there is no difference, the Conservative party are a little better, or the Conservative party are a lot better in each of the following areas."
Notice how for the Liberal party, is a lot better appears first, for the Conservatives, a little better is first, why the different order? Why not this question? "In each of the following areas, are the Liberals or Conservatives, a lot better, a little better, or there is no difference." Remember these results are after wiping the NDP, Greens and Bloq off the map.
NDP supporters told Harris-Decima they'd prefer a Liberal government by an almost four-to-one margin (69-18) compared with the Tory alternative, and Green supporters favoured the Liberals more than two to one (58-28).I'm shocked!
Only Bloc Quebecois supporters were more favourable to a Conservative outcome, by a 41-32 margin.
My last point, when you go to the actual survey results posted by Harris Decima, they breakdown the 3 week average graphs in this order: National, Quebec, Ontario, Atlantic, BC. Do you see the problem? I see the problem. What the heck happened to the Prairies???? They dissappeared Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, who just happen to vote Conservative. Nope, no bias here.
So not only did this survey wipe out the NDP, Greens and Bloq, they also wiped out Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta! After all the wiping out, the Liberals are at 44% and the Conservatives are at 37%. What a dishonest survey. Harris Decima should be ashamed of themselves.
