Best of QP June 16: Useless Opposition.

The Bloq is just there for the pensions, the Liberals don't even show up, and when they do, they sit on their hands, and the NDP still wants a Canadian prison in Afghanistan. All are out of touch, all are useless.

The Conservatives attacked the Bloq, the Liberals and the NDP today. The opposition had nothing new, they looked and acted weak. I have a sneaky suspicion that the Conservatives had an internal poll showing their support rising. I suspect their ads against the carbon tax are working.

Personally, I'm getting tired of the opposition bringing nothing to the table, and I suspect that other Canadians are feeling the same way. Now, the Conservatives need to come out strongly against the HRC's, and solidify their Conservative support. I ask PM Harper to remember that he was against the HRC's years ago, and they have only gotten worse since then. If even the Toronto Star has come out against them, it should now be easy for the government to justify getting rid of section 13.

When I hear someone talk about PM Harper, I still can't believe that he is the head of this country, maybe it's time for Conservatives to realize that the opposition is weak and fast tracking Martin's bill to axe section 13 is not as politically dangerous as they fear. What are the Liberals going to do, vote against their own member's bill?

The opposition parties are useless, let's use that fact!

It seems that SH is playing a waiting game - let others start the war against HRC and then come out for the kill. And it seems it worked, if even the TS is now against them, it means that when the Tories back KM bill or go even further; there won't be the cries of Hidden Agenda and Scary Harper from the lefties and their media friends.

Sometimes I am amazed at how SH is always many, many chess moves ahead of the game. I think this is one of those times.

"the Liberals don't even show up"
I think we should investigate what the Liberals are doing when they don't show up.
Quite surprised to see my MP home in his riding, in the grocery store shopping at the time that I was hurrying home to watch QP.
I know he isn't running again, but an election hasn't be called yet. They all need to get back to work.

Ruth - you should totally call him on it - next time you see him; tell him how surprised you are that he is here and not at work in the HoC. Tell him how disappointing it is that he is an elected MP and yet he is not on the job?? Tell him that if you did that; you would be fired?

I hope you do it and if you do; please let us know his reaction!

Hunter:

Did you see the segment where Steven Fletcher was answering a couple of questions and in the camera shot beside him Thomas Mulcair is rolling his eyes and has this pained look on his face? And then behind Steven, Jack Layton is going apeshit over something. It was very bizarre.

Yes alberta girl, I almost said something to him, but I didn't want to cause a scene in the store.
If he had been in the riding office on a workday, I would understand, but can't they buy their groceries on Saturday.

Yes, just waiting for the fatal mistake, then you're gone. Please, please encourage the Stephen Harper Party to repeal section 13!

Yes, just waiting for the fatal mistake, then you're gone.

So that's it, eh? THAT'S your strategy? No alternatives, policies, or vision for the country? Just wait for the government to screw up and you're in? And how has that been working out for you so far?

Just keep your head up your butt where it belongs, buddy, and we'll see how your masterful strategy plays out with the voters.

What a putz.

Only Harperbots see everything in terms of "strategy". It's not a chess game, it's government.

No alternatives, policies, or vision for the country?
Plenty of alternatives and policies and vision. You know, like the tax shift, ending the disastrous non stop Harper foreign affairs fiascoes, and ending the incessant hate campaigns against all of our institutions.

Just wait for the government to screw up and you're in?
They are screwing up all the time. But Canadians need to see how completely incompetent the CPC really is. Over and over.

And how has that been working out for you so far?
It's working out very well. Good think we didn't trigger an election at the start of Bikerchickgate, no? It's just getting smellier every day. And a lot of fun, really, since you are completely contained, and now thrashing around in the tar pits of your own making.

Just keep your head up your butt where it belongs, buddy,
My head is not in my butt. Thanks for the insult though. It's all your people are good at. But belittlement and sneering will not win any more elections.

and we'll see how your masterful strategy plays out with the voters.
You know how you are supposed to keep taking the full course of antibiotics, even after you feel fine? Same here. The full array of incompetence of the Stephen Harper Party needs to be seen, over and over, so that they will be gone for generations. Even though it seems like a good time to pull the plug, as each day passes, it gets better. Why rush? You are contained.

What a putz.
Whatever. Best you can do?

Hahahahahahahaha!

Anon 9:33, Lot's of time on your hands I see. I think you have things backwards, the Liberals are the ones facing years out in the wilderness, playing with their carbon tax.

And you have no time on your hands to do these hack job videos?
I'm at work. My business is successful. I can go on here between meetings all I want.

Every 20 years, the Liberals get too full of themselves and need a time out. Every time that happens, we end up electing a bunch of fools (like the CPC) and by the time they are gone everyone is relieved. Remember the last "interruption" with Mulroney?

The Liberals aren't out to destroy Canada. They don't hate Canada. They don't call us "second rate". They get annoying from time to time but they are the closest to what the majority of Canadians want.

Um anony - yeah, they do.

My finger slipped before I typed my whole name on that last comment - sigh....

Strange, I thought it was Stephen Harper that calls Canada second rate. I must have got it wrong then.

Anon 11:45, So, those videos bug you? HA. If you notice when I post them, it's usually after midnight, so I'm doing them on my own time, for your viewing pleasure!

The Liberals annoy me no end when they get caught stealing from us hardworking taxpayers and then are arrogant enough to think we will forget about it.

If the Conservatives are so bad, get your buddies to call non-confidence, let's see what real Canadians want, and you can bet it's not a carbon tax!

Like invading Pakistan? A so-called 'revenue-neutral' bait-and-switch tax con? A new fairy-tale scandal every week? Very statesmanlike. Liberal B. Pearson would be proud.

It's not a chess game

Uh, yes it is. And Harper is three moves ahead of Dion. Good luck getting your carbon-tax message out now that the tories have set the tone.

Good think we didn't trigger an election at the start of Bikerchickgate

Bwwaaaahaaaaaaaahaaaaaaa. Stop it! My sides hurt! You said that like you believe you're in control! Good luck explaining to Canadians that all the time you were in the House of Commons rolling over on every vote that you were defending their interests by not defending their interests.

Whatever. Best you can do?
I preferred dawkcuf but swearing is banned here.

as each day passes, it gets better.

I think you're the one who forgot his meds. Go home. You're hallucinating.

By the way Ruth, did your mp 'walk' to the grocery store.?

I hope you get video up of PMSH giving it to the libs today in QP, even Newman said it was the best response today.
Have you got the name for dions new tax, it is not going to called a carbon tax, and neither of those words appear.

MaryT, it will be done! Late at night, I toil away, listening to 45 minutes or more of mainly garbage to grap 5 minutes of the good stuff. Actually the "points of order" today are very, very interesting.
