Best Of QP: Leaked Confidential Document!

Not by Bernier, this was a confidential document leaked to the media, by someone on the Foreign Affairs Committee. (Foreign Affairs AGAIN!!! This is getting to be a pattern.) This is a serious breach of privilege, but not a whisper about it in the press, they are too busy yapping about Poilievre, who has apologized. Here is the article:

MPs want Khadr returned home
Canadian Omar Khadr, accused of murder and terrorism, is being held in Guantanamo Bay. Jun 11, 2008 04:30 AM
Tonda MacCharles

"The subcommittee believes that Omar Khadr should be considered a `child involved in armed conflict' and afforded the special protection outlined" in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Canada signed and ratified, says the report.

The report says there's no indication that Khadr's age "has been sufficiently taken into account" in the American-led military commission proceedings against Khadr in Guantanamo Bay.

It also cites the May 23 decision by the Supreme Court of Canada that the Guantanamo Bay military commission proceedings were found by the U.S. Supreme Court to violate American domestic law and international human rights obligations to which Canada is party.

So, how does Tonda know what's in this confidential report. Who leaked it to her? She even has the resolutions:

After hearing from 18 witnesses in six hearings, the subcommittee will ask the government to:

Demand an immediate end of military commission proceedings against Khadr.
Formally object to the U.S. government's declaration it reserves the right to detain Khadr as an "enemy combatant" even if he is acquitted or if proceedings are halted.
Demand Khadr's release from U.S. custody into the custody of Canadian law enforcement "as soon as practical."
Ask the federal director of public prosecutions to investigate and, "if warranted," prosecute Khadr for offences under Canadian law.
Take any measures necessary to ensure possible security concerns upon his return are addressed.
Take "appropriate measures" to rehabilitate and reintegrate Khadr consistent with Canada's international obligations to deal with child soldiers, and consistent with Canadian law.
Ensure any rehab program for Khadr places judicially enforceable conditions on him "to the extent necessary."

This is clearly a government document she is quoting from, so was it leaked? Notice that the date is June 11, 2008 and she states the committee will not vote on it until June 12, 2008. Watch the video, every party in the House agrees that it was leaked.

So, who leaked the confidential document? Who does the Toronto Star shill for? I bet you are wondering who's on this committee. So was I, so here's the link to a list of potential leaker's (Yikes is that a word?). First we have the sub-committee who did the report, all on paper, no emailing.

Subcommittee on International Human Rights (SDIR)

Then we have the main committee. Funny how the minute the report was released to this committee the leak occurred.

Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development (FAAE)

So, who is the skunk in the woodpile? The main committee is quite a long list. Further, who talked to the Toronto Star, I think computers of members should be locked down and the RCMP called in. This is far more serious than the Bernier issue. This is the conscious decision of a Member of Parliament to leak a confidential document to the media.

What is the media doing? Why can blogger's scoop the media? If I was a reporter, I would be all over this.....but, the media? Cue the crickets.

You are putting too much pressure on the MSM.Do their job and dig into this leak, that really does have National importance and not get front page headlines of boobs on display, day after day.Not in their lifetime. And how dare you suggest that they even print such alarming stuff. After all,who Bernier slept with is much more important.

My money would be on Liberal MP Navdeep Bains as the one leaking this confidential report. Goes back to comments made by the Conservatives about his father-in-law's connection to the Air India bombing.

This is SERIOUS stuff here. Documents from the "DEFENCE" committee being LEAKED to the Liberal Toronto Star and Liberal CBC, right there like blood hounds?

What "ELSE" from the "DEFENCE" committee is being LEAKED and to WHO?

Bob Rae on the DEFENSIVE with the old e-mail cover up story?

Who stands to GAIN anything from this?

Will there be cry's for an ethics committee hearing, or a public enquiry?

I think the RCMP should investigate this. The Liberal party is "OUT OF CONTROL".

Well, well well! Today we see quite a high score on the BT fake-outrage-o-meter. I wonder what you are trying to change the channel away from today?

I'm sure time will tell.

Hahahahaha!

The MSM refusing to say anything proves that their liberal darlings or the ndp are somewhere involve and that is not the MSM turff.

Be a reporter apparently the MSM needs to be tacled with.

So Rae's reaction was to blame too many people getting an e-mail.......that sounded like setting the stage for an excuse from a guilty party.

Yes, we need to get to the bottom of this!! As the libs would say.

My guess is Susan Delacourt hands off the leak to Tonda, after having received an email from a liberal pal.

Delacourt definitely has an out of control absolute hatred for anything Conservative and PMSH.
That's why Don Newman ALWAYS has her on, even he sometimes has to soften/correct her comments.

Bob Rae picked a party that is heavily protected by the MSM. You can steal bankrupt support terrorist groups without facing the MSM's wrath as long as you are a liberal or ndp.
THE BLOGS, NET, ARE THE NEWS CENTER NOW. too many liberals who are not stupid have a nagging suspicion about the liberals but can't get the answers from the MSM to quench their suspicion therefore, they turn to the NET and Blogs.

My money is on Rae but he is too slippery to do it directly. Probably suggested it to Silva or Dryden. Then he has deniability.

Clearly shows how crazy the "out of power" members are. This just further enhances the dishonesty of the party. BUT, this is the Liberals, so nothing to report here. Just another example of how the entitled/Liberal minds work. And who's trying to change the channel here?

A petition was presented into parliament today, from Canadians ,who want an inquiry into the missing millions of taxpayers money.

You never tire of the MSM meme do you? Never heard of the Sun papers? Where just last Sunday the entire front page was the CPC gas station attack ads?

You can steal bankrupt support terrorist groups without facing the MSM's wrath as long as you are a liberal or ndp.

You might get the MSM's wrath if you could form a coherent sentence.

THE BLOGS, NET, ARE THE NEWS CENTER NOW.
Everybody's a publisher, but most are not news, just opinion.

too many liberals who are not stupid
You are straying from approved BT wording. Never imply there are any liberals who are not stupid. Thank you.

have a nagging suspicion about the liberals but can't get the answers from the MSM to quench their suspicion therefore, they turn to the NET and Blogs.
That's better. Claim there are liberals with "nagging suspicion" and claim blogs will somehow provide answers.

Now you need to create as many blogs as possible, all parroting your position. Then those "stupid liberals" will believe everyone is suspicious of the Liberals.

Another cowardly liberal anon speaks just to hear themselves talk.

OT
I have thought many times how the women (and there are quite afew!) on BTs are doing such a great job!
Kudos to you all.

I also watched this at the end of Question Period. Any mother could figure out who was making up excuses, shame on Bob Rae.
Good post!!

You forgot to say "terrorist loving" and you failed to mention Adscam.

Please adhere to BT guidelines in the future.

Thank you.

'Coward' covers the terrorist lovin',
but I did fail to take the opportunity to remind libs that
there are criminal charges to come.
Unlike the faux scandals libs tried to exploit, where Cons were NOT charged, due to no evidence of criminal activity.
And a very costly libel suit against the LPC is still in the works.

How many "leaks" have come out of the DND or FA or Bairds office in the past year. Remember the plans for the new headquarters being "found" in the garbage as someone went to dinner. It is time for the PM to get rid of all civil servants that work in these offices, that were appointed or hired by liberals. Do these leakers really expect to get some high paying patronage job in the next 20 years. Time to get rid of the rats in the civil service, AB has a great rat patrol that keeps rats (and liberals) out.
