Victims Will Have A Voice!

Finally, one of the first bills introduced by the Conservative government has become law. I told my MP that if the Conservatives did nothing else, but get the Age of Protection raised from 14 to 16, I would vote for them again. It is now law. Thank you PM Stephen Harper and all those hard working Conservative MP's. Too bad it had to be made a confidence vote to get it passed by the "progressives".

It's a bad day for criminals, and a great day for victims of crime!

As the Mother of two boys, aged 12 and 15, I applaud this bill. I can't imagine how relieved parents of little girls feel about this, as girls are targeted more often than boys by sexual predators.

The other two bills are great too, but protecting our children is of the highest priority.

With this one bill, the Conservatives have won over parents of all political persuasions. Funny how the MSM downplayed this whole issue. CTV has now buried their article, read the comments 99% are supportive. The Globe and Mail didn't even bother writing an article about this, guess it would have been too positive for those "progressives" to handle. Nothing about it on the news, the silence from the media is deafening.

Victims will now have a voice. Bravo! Well done!

This an excellent change to the law.
It also prevents some of the craziness in the states that has jailed kids for having sex with other teenagers.( there is a 5 year up or down clause) Though teenagers should not be having sex with each other. I certainly don't want to jail them for it.

There goes my shot with Miley Cyrus.

All kidding aside, the crime bill has been a long time coming and is another example of this government getting things done for the people of Canada.

Liberals hate that.

I am very pleased to see this become law. It was way overdue, but better late than never.

The sickos will now have to focus outside of Canada to get their jollies.

The MSM is too busy fawning over Brenda Martin, a convicted criminal. How progressive, how Liberal!

Teenagers shouldn't be having sex? What planet are you from?

I betcha ol' Hunter was having sex as a teenager! No surprise that Dr. Roy wasn't though.

Fortunately, this do very little law did not repeal the important one. Liberals love that.

We still have 18 as the age of consent for prostitution and pornography and other exploitive relationships. Liberals love that.

Finally the CPC did something slightly useful without damaging existing protections. Liberals love that.

Anon 7:32 Not that it's any of your business, but ol'Hunter DID NOT have sex as a teenager, as a matter of fact, not even while I was in university.

You see, I wanted it to be a special experience with someone I loved, not something I felt pressured into doing because it was the "fad" of the day, and everyone else was doing it. I am very glad I waited.
