They Just Can't Help Themselves!

First off, good luck General Hillier, you did a great job! You put the men and women first and that is how it should be.

CTV just can't help themselves, they need to take a negative view of the Prime Minister, while showing the GG as a great gal!

Notice how Michaelle talks about his important position, and PM Harper reflects on the "oft shaky" relationship? It's those little digs that the MSM just have to put into every single article they write. Even my lefty parents are sick of it!

Read the comments, most are very supportive.

They just can't say anything nice about our Prime Minister can they? Fife was yapping about being "outside" the fence, and Drapeau made it very clear that the gate was open. Watch the videos on the right, they speak for themselves.

That's another reason why this country is nothing but a joke.

I just wrote CTV about this very thing. Robert Fife got on T.V. after the speeches saying the GG speech and Hilliers were far the best. He stated Harpers and McKays were just ordinary - I asked if it was now his job to mark speeches, maybe because he was happy with the 2 liberal appointed members of the speakers. I asked why does he have to say something negative about our Prime Minister every event he covers? He went on and on what a great speech the GG gave - and how HIlliers speech was much better than Natynczyks. An American Guest even commented on it - saying he thought it was proper for the outgoing head to give a speech such as Hillier and the new command was only following protocol... and basically he was amazed at Fife's comments. Fife said, well I am only a reporter and that is the way I saw it... You know I also wrote that fife is constantly saying whenever he can that Bernier was the worst Foreign Affairs Minister Canada ever had... why is it his job to assess our Ministers?.... maybe because they are Tories. I stated that if Canadians are asked, 99% of them would agree, liberal or Tory that dion is the worst leader the liberal party ever had, but fife doesnt' feel it necessary to state that every day!.... He is so liberal bias, it is pathetic.... and the media just can't help themselves. thank heaven for the blogs, that is the only place we get true reporting, and hopefully, with enough pressure we can turn some of these bias reporters out to pasture...

Noticed that at CTV.ca...they like to embellish the news,eh?

OT but worth mentioning...PMSH has lost weight.I wouldn't mention it accept when he had the weight MSM had to mention it it so many irrelevant ways.

It is a well known fact that a tv camera adds at least 10-15 pounds to a person. I know I was shocked when I saw the PM in person a couple of years ago, at how thin he looked against what he looked like on tv. Yes, he has lost weight. And knowing the camera adds weight, how scrawny is Dion in person.

Actually CTV and the rest of the Liberal-loving MSM constant negative comments about Harper are probably wearing a bit thin with any sane person.

I mean there is Dion who can't seem to do anything right , running on a platform of increasing taxes and the MSM try their best to protect Dion , while constantly pouring negative coverage on Harper.

At some point even die-hard Liberals must begin to question the MSM bias.

I can't wait for the election when lame-brains in the MSM try to defend a tax increase in the name of saving the earth !!!!

I remember when Prime Minister Harper was on his first trip to China and they had to wear those "gowns" for a group picture.... well, Jane Tabor quoted on "Question Period" how FAT he looked.... She definately stated Prime Minsiter Harper really looks very fat.... I wonder what she is thinking now.... but one thing for sure, she will never give him a positive comment!... Let's go Prime Minister Harper - you sure made me proud Canada Day to be a Canadian - and when you speak - the liberal reporters can say all they like - you do us all proud.... I must add, the liberal grab tax must really be doing poorly, we havn't heard a word, and you can bet your bottom dollar, if there was anything positive to say about it from anywhere, we would not hear the end of it.... it would be morning, noon and night headlines, so as we all knew it would be - nothing but a tax grab and Canadians are not going to buy it. It was on the blog that the liberal party borrowed 2 million dollars in 2007from a bank...... Let's put it this way, if that is the case, and they can't look after their own finances, how can we expect them to run Canadas?... Maybe that is why they needed the tax grab....

Yes, your shills will certainly try to make that straw man the discussion. Then they'll lead us all in a round of "Don't worry, be happy!"

Then the adults will arrive to explain how much money we'll all make as a world leader in green technologies. Just like Canada became a world leader in telecommunications because we had to, a shift to rewarding green energy will spur the development there. The tax shift simply means it is more rewarding to develop new technologies than stick entirely with the old fossil fuels.

Your people will argue for the status quo, where not only do we not reward emitting less carbon, we actually encourage it through all the tax breaks given to the fossil fuel business.

Good point. The party that took us from a $40 BILLION a year DEFICIT to a $10 BILLION a year SURPLUS would probably know how to manage a nation's finances.

hunter said...

Well anon, when the World Monetary Fund tells you to get your books in order, it is a serious situation, too bad they used the provinces to make that surplus happen.

Anonymous said...

So we agree then, the Liberals are proven as good managers of the nation's finances.

hunter said...

That should be International Monetary Fund! The IMF told the Liberals to get our debt down. Germany had also started to warn investors against Canada, and finally the Liberals did something.

finally the Liberals did something.
Yes, Mulroney really made a mess. Raised the national debt from $100 Billion to $500 Billion. Deficit went from $10 Billion a year to $40 Billion a year.

The IMF told the Liberals to get our debt down.
I always thought it was mostly pressure from Preston Manning and the Reform Party.

The Reform Party provided some of the best Opposition we ever had. Shamed the Liberals into being good fiscal managers.

The successor to Reform is the Stephen Harper Conservatives. They too were great in Opposition. Given how poor the Liberals are in Opposition, the best thing is to get the Liberals back in power where they are at their best, and the CPC back in Opposition where they are best.

Well they sure can not run their own finances - borrowing 2 million dollars to keep you a float - show there is something wrong! No one is donating money to the liberal party, wonder why!

The Liberals shot themselves in the foot when they banned corporate donations. To prevent our elections from being bought by corporate interests, such as those that financed Stephen Harper's leadership bid, the Liberals sought to safeguard our financing system, even though it is very detrimental to them.

Knowing how deeply the Harper PMO tries to reach into the civil service and politicize it, many Liberals fear their individual donations being leaked. They fear being singled out by the Harper regime should they make recorded donations. Kind of like wanting to have a secret ballot. Corporate donations had the advantage of allowing individuals to remain anonymous, but the risk of foreign interests influencing our elections was too high.

I think all campaign donations should be banned, and parties required to work within the operating money they received based on the popular vote in the last election.

maryT said...

What BS anon has posted. If he/she is so sure Steven Harper's leaderhip was bought by corporate interests he/she should list them. He/she is wrong.
It was Chretain, on his own, who outlawed corporate donations, in his ongoing fight with Paul Martin. He knew what it would do to their ability to raise money.
Wouldn't donations go to the liberal headquarters, are you suggesting that PMSH has a mole in there to leak info. What a stupid stmt. Anything for an excuse to avoid the fact, liberals are not donating money because of the leader you picked and his sitting on his hands and inventing scandals. The more liberal money problems come out the more people will see his shaft as a money grab to pay off their bills and reward friends. I bet Mo is furious he is not getting the billions promised for buying his carbon credits from China. He might get so upset he leaves China and gets arrested in the US to face charges re Oil for Food Scam.
The shaft must not be selling very well as it is almost off the radar in the media. I think that is why they gave the OofC to M, to change the topic. Divide and conquer, that is the liberal way, but it wont work this time.

maryT said...

Another question for anon, why would civil servants be working in the liberal headquarters. We do know that most civil servants have been in positions for many years, from the liberal years. They have, IMO, worked very hard to trash this government, and been responsible for many leaks meant to embarass PMSH.
Maybe in the old days these civil servants could moonlight for liberals, but not anymore.

No, that's not it. Take a look at the first image from the post one below this one. That is what happens when extreme right wingers get in power. Many people are afraid of your Stephen Harper Party radical program. They are afraid of reprisals should their support for other parties become known.

Another question for anon, why would civil servants be working in the liberal headquarters.
They don't. They work in Revenue Canada. You only need one person to compromise the databases. The records that support your political contribution tax credit claim.

The shaft must not be selling very well as it is almost off the radar in the media.
What is there to sell? It's been presented, it is discussed when Dion makes appearances. Everyone has heard of it now.

No, everyone is waiting for King Stephen to find the time to debate the green shift. Seems he has much more important strutting around to do.

We're also waiting for you guys to actually read it. That could take a while though. In the meantime, you seem to be unable to come up with anything besides "bad bad bad".

I think that is why they gave the OofC to M, to change the topic.
Those dastardly Liberals! They control everything?

Now you are the one making the stupid statements.

Maybe the MSM and civil service aren't out to "get" poor old martyr Steve.

Maybe most of us just don't trust him.

Well anon 5:56, please all knowing seer tell us who financed Belinda baby? Also who financed Dion? Come on fess up, if you are so sure corporate interests financed Harper in 2002 when it was still legal, who financed Dion now that it is illegal? Spill the beans!

I too feel the leaks were made by civil service "liberal hacks" who were appointed and are still there trying their best to leak information to embarase the PM. The liberals were in power so long, they think they have the complete right to run this Country and do as they wish. Like dion - thought Canadians would buy this "tax grab" - and the promise from the media to help him sell it - he thought his money troubles would be over in no time. Canadians have been fooled by the liberals before - Chrieten said if he was elected, he would do away with the GST, but once the liberals get their hands on money - it immediately goes in brown paper bags for their friends...

They continued to get elected to run this Country. You know, democracy and all that?

Like dion - thought Canadians would buy this "tax grab"
Only your people call it a tax grab. Are you going to abolish taxes? If not, then you look silly moaning about this. It is a shift in where the taxes come from. A "grab" would imply raising taxes, not a revenue neutral shift in the tax base.

- and the promise from the media to help him sell it
Which promise was that? Oh right, the one you just invented out of thin air.

- he thought his money troubles would be over in no time.
How would changing the tax system in a revenue neutral way solve his money problems, whatever they may be?

Canadians have been fooled by the liberals before
Unlike being fooled by the CPC or PC's before that. At least with the Liberals, we will still have a country at the end of any of their mandates.

- Chrieten said if he was elected, he would do away with the GST,
Yes he did, until it became clear how much damage Mulroney had done. A $40 BILLION a year deficit and a $600 BILLION national debt? It would have been irresponsible to cut taxes when Mulroney had run up so much debt.

You see, the Liberals prefer tax and spend, which means paying as you go, while the CPC and PC parties prefer to borrow and spend, which means making the future generations pay for your short term spending.

but once the liberals get their hands on money - it immediately goes in brown paper bags for their friends...
Really? You mean when they went from a $40 BILLION deficit to a $10 BILLION surplus, the Liberals stuffed that $50 BILLION each year into brown paper bags? Amazing! So the National Debt is still actually over $600 BILLION?

Unlike the Liberals who had some crooked underlings, with the CPC, the money stealing such as the in-and-out theft, is ordered and approved right from the top.

maryT said...

Gee do liberals only donate for the tax credit. No law says you have to use it on your return if you are so paranoid. And remember, it was on a liberal watch when boxes and boxes of files from Rev Canada were "found" abandoned. Sort of like the plans found in a garbage pail, on the way to dinner.
Anon, you are beginning to sound like another paranoid liberal poster. Just wait till we get our majority. We will then start to get some real Canadian values back.

Ardvark said...

Actually, thanks to Jean Chretien, the list of political donors is public and available on the Elections Canada website for anyone to view.

maryT said...

At NNW new figures are out re donations to all parties. Seems the conservatives spend 41 thousand dollars on fund raising, about one cent/dollar raised. Liberals spent 600 thousand on fund raising. About .13 cents per dollar raised, and just to make matters worse, PMSH has added 1 million dollars for damages in his lawsuit against the liberals. Bet they wished they had said, I'm Sorry. Still waiting for positive information re the corporations who financed Steven Harper's leadership. And it was 2004 when Chretain changed the laws, because he was mad he had to resign. Call it chretain's revenge.

Ardvark said...

An honest question to the Liberals who are always attempting to smear the PM and conservatives with alleged ties to 'big business".

How is it that you can make all these claims (no proof just smear) about how Harper was bought and is controlled by big business, but seem to turn a blind eye to Power Corp and the very obvious, and REAL ties to the past, and present Liberal Party?

I am not big on conspiracy theories and the like, but for the lefties that do seem to relish in these types of theories, the ignoring this connection baffles the mind.

hunter said...

Good question Ardvark, but silence from the lefties I see. How did Martin get that shipping company? Why doesn't he fly the Canadian flag on his ships? Where is the 40 million of missing taxpayers money?

Right, all we hear are the crickets, rubbing their legs together, while Mo Strong sits in China waiting for our money to fill his Kyoto coffers.
