High Praise For PM Harper!

No, not here in Canada, with our lefty media! HA. International recognition for our PM, as he is singled out as the only worthy leader at the G8!

The world needs leaders at the G8 summit

The trouble is that - partly because of the surging commodity prices that have made all incumbent regimes unpopular - G8 is led by politicians who lack authority.

Nicolas Sarkozy, Angela Merkel and Gordon Brown are disliked at home; George Bush is a lame duck; Silvio Berlusconi is changing the law to indemnify himself; Dmitri Medvedev is regarded as Vladimir Putin's creature and, in any case, Russia does not merit inclusion in the G8 by virtue either of its democratic structures or the size of its economy; Yasuo Fukuda, the host, has just become the first ever Japanese leader to have a censure vote passed against him in parliament.

Of all the leaders, only Stephen Harper - the talented but curiously neglected Canadian prime minister - is able to point to a popular and successful record in office.

Some will regard it as alarming that, in current times, world leadership should rest with Canada. But the Canadian Tories are a model of how to behave during a downturn.

They have kept spending in check and reduced taxes. They are playing their full role in world affairs, notably in Afghanistan.

Rather than canting about saving the world (Mr Harper, in his quiet and courteous way, is a Kyoto-sceptic) they have addressed themselves to curing remediable ills and, above all, to putting their own affairs in order.

If the rest of the world had comported itself with similar modesty and prudence, we might not be in this mess.

To bad Canadians won't respect our PM as much as he is respected internationally! The Liberals persist in saying he is damaging our reputation internationally. Guess not! Keep up the great work PM Harper.

Shame on our MSM. All they do is shill for their Liberal masters by painting PMSH and the Conservative government in a negative light. I bet if this would have been a Liberal PM,our sorry excuse for a media would shouting from the roof tops how we are true leaders in the world and how the PM is praised by the world. Makes me sick.

Shame on our MSM.
Like Sun Media, which is our equivalent of the uk Telegraph? They sing Harper's praises to the heavens too.

The telegraph, or course, is shilling for the British Tories under David Cameron.

Great find Hunter. We've got a great PM in Harper. Something we haven't had for many many years.

When will we get a FOX NORTH to at least gat a little, teeny, modicum of balance?

YES! YES! YES! BRAVO PMSH YOU DID IT AGAIN. AT least you are being recognized internationally for the hard work you and you party accomplished in 2-1/2years in government. It is of no wonder that you were awarded the most prestigious award for your stands on 'human rights'
I wonder if we can contact the foreign media to continue the job for most canadians who are being deliberately misled manipulated from the wonders you have done so far since the canadian MSM are not interested.

According to the international media you are an example to the world leaders and according to the liberals and ndp and their MSM you are taking us down the wrong path.
Unfortunately they are the ones taking this country down the 'WRONG PATH'
GOD BLESS

That'll drive progressives into a sputtering frenzy.

I agree with much of it - most of the objectives of the last budget have been met, with a lot of sound legislation going through. I credit the Liberals parliamentary disappearing act for this success.

But "kept spending in check"? They haven't driven the budget into the red, but spending has increased far too much. Only a healthy economy has buffered them from the consequences (so far).

As well, there have been far too many small scandals (Bernier, et al).

And, once again, well done Mister Prime Minister. We finally have a PM we can truly be proud of.

And just yesterday Dion was popping off about what an embarassment Canada was internationaly.

He must have meant that Canada was being embarassed whenever the leader of the official opposition started yakking about how he was going to take the government down, and then sat on his tiny little hands when any voting was done in the HoC.

Anyone in Edmonton going to Dion's townhall meeting? Polish Hall (10960- 104St) from 6:00 to 8:00? If you are, please give us a rundown of what happens!

The Globe and Mail refuses to give any positive coverage and especially this news in their paper - however, some of the comments on the write up of the PM stated this very story - with questions why the paper is not reporting it?.... Guess it won't be long and that will be removed. Thanks for posting this - and thank heavens for the "blogs" so we can get this information. With reporters like Gloria Galloway - Mark Dunn's wife and head strategist for dion how can we expect any positive coverage for our PM - after all, she has to keep her husband a job! Then you have Jane Tabor - and we all know what she is about - also in the Globe there are questions why the story to one of dion's meetings - where he was told to get out of town - it was not up to him to ride in and tell them how to run their Province. Someone asked the question - why was that not reported in the Globe?.... There is going to be some fun - even liberals are writing saying they are getting sick and tired of this one-sided reporting. Give us the facts - we as Canadians can make up our own minds without all these liberal media reporters slanting the stories to suit their liberal party. Let's expose some of these reporters every chance we can and let the paper know we are going to contact their sponsors and let them know, there are other people beside the liberal party of canada........

How could this be, Dion and other liberals, and the media continue to tell us that PMSH has embarassed us on the world stage.
Maybe someone should explain what embarass means. Hint, it's what happens to cdns every time a liberal opens his mouth and inserts foot.

Has anyone seen a Canadian MSM story on this?

Anon, that's where I found the link to this story, in the comments section at the G&M, so thanks to that poster!

I know my Liberal parents are disgusted with all the left leaning media. Maybe the media has finally reached the point that people will read them, then go to blogs to find out what is really going on.

Just called the cbc talkback line and told them I have a 10.00 bet that they will not report on this tonight, but will have some lie about Dion. Said if I win I will spend it on increasing my carbon footprint. But, I said, I expect to lose. I said if Keith B had to report on it he would be in great pain and soiled undies.

How could CTV report this story? - Jane Tabor gave Mr. Harper the "jeer" of the week on Question Period Sunday, because she knew he would fail in his environment issue at the G8. Funny, the previous week, she gave dion the "cheer" of the week because he brought out this big "green grab"... Now he being taken to court over the name he took from another Company - and they are trying to kick him out of Alberta - the North doesn't support it - funny he didn't get the "jeer" of the week - it has been proven his plan failed, but she gave Harper the "jeer" before he even got to the G8! Now think about that folks - would that be liberal bias or what!.... - Sheila Copps is back pushing for Dion - was told she would get a big appointment - maybe to the senate if she can get him elected with her "gab"!

How many senate vacancies are there in Ont. PMSH better fill them before Sheila or other cbc honchos or ctv idiots get them.

And he has, in spades.

Funny, the previous week, she gave dion the "cheer" of the week because he brought out this big "green grab"...
No, there was no cheering over a "grab". You know how you can stand more on one foot than the other? You are shifting your weight to improve balance. What part of shifting taxes do you find it so hard to understand?

Now he being taken to court over the name he took from another Company -
Yes, it's like some people buy iPods from Apple and wonder why it does not come filled with Beatles songs from Apple Music. And they wonder why they could not buy the iPod from Apple Auto Glass.
Some people just get confused by names used in different businesses that are not competing with each other.

and they are trying to kick him out of Alberta -
Says you. How do you know besides your right wing dominated Sun media?

the North doesn't support it -
Says you. The North is a bit bigger than one politician's sound bite.

funny he didn't get the "jeer" of the week -
I thought it was hilarious, but reading the moaning and shrieking of your persecution complexes is even funnier.

it has been proven his plan failed,
Good old fright wingers, always claiming things are "proven". Should I even bother asking for your "proof"?

but she gave Harper the "jeer" before he even got to the G8!
Did he change his well known view of "so-called" climate change? Did he change his whining "we can't do it" defeatism?

Now think about that folks - would that be liberal bias or what!.... -
No, it would be honesty. Ever heard of it?

Sheila Copps is back pushing for Dion - was told she would get a big appointment - maybe to the senate if she can get him elected with her "gab"!
Really? What other things have you made up today?

Anon 6:47, you are too funny! You present no facts, no real agrument, just vampid nonsense. Shifting taxes??? Right, from middle class taxpayers to unionized daycares.

You lefties want to shift taxes? Here's a plan to wipe out poverty.

Abolish all personal income taxes, but every person making more than $30,000 must take in at least one homeless person. If you make $60,000, you must take in 2 homeless/poor people, etc. You must provide for their care for life! No more low income housing needed, no more food banks, no more shifting of taxes from wealthy to poor. Just take the poor and the criminals into your home, problem solved!

How's that for tax shifting? You lefties should love that, it accomplishes everything you say you want.

Hunter, I went into the belly of the beast and saw Dion speak. I will have something up about it tomorrow.

I would do it sooner but I have to go for a walk and air myself out after listening to all that BS flung around while Dion avoided answering questions.

hunter said...

Can't wait Ardvark!! I understand, that's why I couldn't go, I really don't like being made to feel slimy.

Enjoy your circle jerk.

Too bad they didn't notice reckless spending threatening the robust economy that they inherited from the Libs.

Otherwise, they haven't really done much other than posture, but I guess that is what counts to the fringe right.

Oh, and "Hunter", how come all of your right wing heroes have never actually practiced what they preached and been successful businessmen and entrepreneurs in the private sector?

That anon comment is so mindless, it does not deserve comment.

msm is gonna lose this war.
Internationally, Harper is a hit, truly taking a stand on contraversial issues, FINALLY, Canada is not a fence sitter anymore. The embarrassment is over.

When you get aid agencies, rock stars and environutjobs targeting this government, it because PMSH makes waves, won't slink around appeasing the groups so as to get 'good' press.

This government will be in power long enough to be the 'measurement of success' for future governments.

Anonymous said...

Wilson, if you ever one day have the opportunity to travel overseas you will find the reality.

And for the record, mindless is blindly swallowing whatever they feed you to convince you that being the highest spending gov't in CDN history doesn't matter.

Again, so long as they talk the talk, other armchair wingnuts will swallow the line of garbage.

Just wondering how many useless subs the PM has bought, with all his useless spending. How many millions has he paid out to settle broken contracts. All he is doing is cutting taxes and spending on programs that help canada, and keeping the cupboard bare in case liberals ever get elected again.

I am emailing this story to my mp in alberta, ctv, cbc, radio shows etc. the more we send to the msm they have no choice but to give up surrender resign take a pick.
